Well, you know... if you had a kid, there probably wouldn't be any more sleeping until noon on Sunday...

The pressure from the mother-in-law combined with the ex-with-a-kid reminding Akari of past heartache because of her choosing the guy over her will probably cause some issues because I can't imagine that Ayano won't tell Akari about it. She just seems like the type who will be open about things like that, which will make Akari worry that she's going to get pregnant and re-commit to her marriage.

I also expect that her ex's kid will end up in Ayano's class next year, though I don't know what grade in elementary school Ayano teaches... but the way she was talking with the parents it seemed like an early grade at least.

Chapter 3: I'm actually more interested in the moms. Childhood friends who got married to men, had children and then divorced to marry each other many years later. That's pretty dang rare in yuri, but very likely in real life.
Of course the not-sisters were also amazingly cute. Pretty sure that "marriage" was not legally binding tho.

Well, given that the legal age for marriage with parental consent is 16 and the parents gave consent, there's no reason that their marriage wouldn't be legal. Japanese marriages are simply a matter of turning in the paperwork, from what I understand. A ceremony isn't even required.

This is bullshit, she has a boyfriend, can we have some yuri without guys around? I'm tired of this shit

You do realize that the OTHER girl making the assumption that her friend is thinking about "her boyfriend" when she's really fantasizing about her doesn't ACTUALLY mean that the girl is dating anyone, right? A lot of times girls assume that good looking girls have boyfriends. Also, MANY lesbians date men before they figure out that they are into women or because they are afraid to live openly. It's a normal thing.

I will leave this conv and juste say Bloom into You and Kase-san.

The main character of Bloom into you is probably asexual, she is sooooooooo boring
And Kase-san -> God bless you, finally a good yuri anime <3

Yuu is most likely Demi-romantic, but decidedly NOT asexual. (Nor is she boring. She's one of the best written characters in manga.) I would guess you're not still reading the manga if you still think that she might be asexual. In addition, Touko doesn't give any indication of being attracted to men and Sayaka is definitely a lesbian, as well as the cafe owner. The only bi character in the story is their teacher.

Not that you are WRONG about there being an under-representation in the media, but blaming BI women is not really the right approach. The problem in Japanese culture is the tendency to entirely ignore the existence of homosexuality. (Yurikuma Arashi's "Invisible Storm" - oh, and that's another one that is entirely full of lesbians and is actually directly addressing your point of lack of representation in media, culture, and society. If you didn't watch it because it's too bizarre, try it again. It has layers, but it's really good.)

Honestly, I can't tell whether this is obtuseness or trolling, but you can drop it either way Badis.

Sorry... had the post in the editor when you posted this... :(

Nikaidou is either police or Yakuza imo

I'm guessing it's police, since it took about ten minutes. They probably had to run her picture through facial recognition against known fugitives or something.

Hey, rereading chapter 1, guess who was there. <=D

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kaijuu_iro_no_shima_ch01#7

Too right! Bully girl, her boy-toy and abalones too!

Yep! It's not like that was a RANDOM het couple being shown gettin' together in the beginning. Nope, it was the guy who hit on Furuka and the mean girl from Kon's class.

Page #7 "Maybe I have some kind of sickness..."
If the sickness is yuri then I don't need a cure! :-)

Things got 'Lovecraftian' back in chapter 01 P.15-16
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kaijuu_iro_no_shima_ch01#16

Definitely some major foreshadowing there... and Kon suggests that the monster saved their lives on page #27:

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kaijuu_iro_no_shima_ch01#26

This is a great manga, anime when?

More foreshadowing in chapter 2: Kon saw a monster before...
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kaijuu_iro_no_shima_ch02#4

But for some reason she doesn't remember it... Hmmm.... Perhaps they've met before, since it certainly looks like Furuka has some connection to this monster...

You know what? That genre is not controversial in Japan and in many other places.

I'm not even "into" age gap, but I still find irritating the people shitting on every single instance of that kind of work, without even looking at the quality of writing, or the characters' psychology.

This manga looks pretty well done and the MC looks like someone sensible. It's not like she's going to bed the JK right away. And people continue to confuse love with sexual attraction.

Murica and its satellites are not representing the standard of morality. Especially when they are proud to have a known sexual predator as a president, with a 24 years age difference with his wife.

Applauding to your last paragraph! You made my day! (also, everything you said is on point)

Except for the "proud" part... When the percentage of people in favor of impeachment is approaching a majority, it doesn't suggest that we're proud of our President.

Darkness within darkness awaits in this thread. Does this mean the low quality translation is already out?

Only in Spanish... and is not very good haha so yeah, I won't spoil any further

3 chapters left then (officially announced) but I don't know what they gonna do with that... Well, I wouldn't complain if they just go around having dates or whatever until [The End] haha

Three chapters eh... I'd think they would have to have Yuu meet Touko's parents and Touko meet Yuu's parents AS HER GIRLFRIEND and not just her sempai... That could be two chapters... then one to wrap up... but I don't know if she'll go that route.

If I'm being optimistic I believe they are trying to give us more interactions between Ruby and Weiss so when it happens people can't go around saying that they are forcing the ship like they are doing with Bumblebee.

I've dropped RWBY for a while now, but I checked out a few places once I heard Bumblebee got some love thrown their way, and oh boy was the backlash intense as fuck. And the thing is I can't even fault most of them for being annoyed. If the writers' writing capabilities are anything like the time I dropped them, I knew instinctively that they probably just dove head first into making them endup together without even properly building them up from previous seasons because they were so busy with their myth arc and making Jaune super important because he's their poster boy (ironic for a show called RWBY).

I've always loved WR but I couldn't stand seeing them being written so poorly (and would probably end up in het ships because reasons) so the show is as good as dead to me.

Probably fed a troll, but I’m tired of people coming out & saying “this isn’t what Monty wanted” in regards to the show.

How do you know?
You weren’t there.
You didn’t even know Monty.

Saying that takes away from how ridiculously hard Kerry & Miles have worked from Day 1.

That’s the thing though, it’s not in different hands, it’s just in one less pair. They made RWBY happen together.
[end quote]

In reality, the majority of the details of the story were always being written by Miles and Kerry while Monty worked on the fight choreography and visuals. Yes, the idea was his to begin with, but the story was built by a team of three people.

I've also seen Barbara Dunkleman, the voice actress for Yang, in interviews give HEAVY hints that the events of the end of Volume 6, with Blake and Yang defeating Adam and confirming their feelings for each other, was something she had known was going to happen for YEARS. She has commented that sometimes people pick up on things because they are being foreshadowed in the writing and that there is a "big book" of RWBY story arcs that was created before Monty died, which has been confirmed by others in the RT family, and that it contains certain things that lead her to be a strong Bumblebee shipper from the start.

As for WhiteRose, there are suggestions that, since the team will be spending the next Volume, at least, in Atlas, that Weiss will be dealing with her demons much the same way that Blake and Yang have been dealing with theirs over the past couple of seasons and that she will need the support of her closest friend more than ever, who IS Ruby, regardless of her tsundere ways. This suggests that there could be development in their relationship on the horizon.

As for the comment about "making Jaune super important" part... um... he's been kind of out of the picture for a good portion of the past season and hasn't been all that important. He's no more important that any of the other members of Team JNR.

This comic, on the other hand, is cute AF!

So, what happens with the MC in this story?

I'd say she started looking for a girlfriend since she's been so disappointed in all the guys from the dating services.

Wow that ship kinda just sprung up out of nowhere, I can't really get behind Kou/Nene after having such a build up with the two ex's for the first three chapters

Also Kou was really laying it on thick "I always love it when you smile" like you've known Nene all of 5 minutes

How can you say it sprung out of nowhere? All through the beach chapter it was clear that Nene was starting to get closer to Kou. Unlike the others, she started calling her Kou-chan instead of some derivation of her family name and told her to call her Nene. Then they had the walk in the rain and she asked her out on a date, which she expected to NOT include Amane, for Kou-chan to watch a photo shoot. It was pretty clear to me that Nene was, at the very least, attracted to her.

Someone mentioned that they thought Lizard-sempai was probably responsible for Nene and Amane breaking up. I would have to agree, since it was stated that they broke up at middle school graduation and the "Sunset Girl" picture of Amane was from two years ago, which would have been when they were still in middle school and dating, and it certainly looks like it was taken in a compromising situation... or at least could have lead to a misunderstanding if it wasn't.

In the long run, this is kind of like the Star Wars Prequels. It doesn't matter how much drama she tries to toss out about Mei and Yuzu, because we already know that there is a marriage in the future, because that flash forward was already done as the last chapter of the original manga. Even if they break up for some reason, it would only be excess drama.

Yuu comes to grips with the fact that she's demiromantic and she's never going to have one of those "love at first sight fireworks" moments, though she can have plenty of fireworks with her lover now that they are together...

Probably because it's part of a series by multiple authors of "One Page Shorts".

In the end she says "This weekend, I'll buy a new jewelry box. But one without a lock is fine."

To me that implies happy yuri end. She's not going to hide her feelings from her friend who wants to stay with her forever, which tells me her friend accepted her feelings.

Edit: Also Fuwako is wiping away Arisa's tears in the last panel ( Fuwako is shown about to reach out in the previous panel). That's gay af.

You're right, it is Fuwako wiping away Arisa's tears there and not Arisa wiping away her own tears, because the hand that Arisa would have been using is holding a sandwich. (She'd be smashing it into her cheek.) That is pretty symbolic if nothing else. Fuwako wants to make Arisa happy and remove her tears. She's making promises for the future about home cooked meals, which is kind of wife like behavior. Not to mention that AFTER Arisa confessed her love and kissed her, Fuwako came back, apologized for being oblivious, and told her that she wants to be with her forever. In a sense, Arisa saying she prefers home-made better comes across as her low-key asking her to move in or something...

Looks like all the girls in Seiran are coincidentally lesbians.

Or is it an admission criteria in that school?

The admission application is pretty much a lesbian dating service profile form.

This is one of my all-time favorites! The final chapter was fun, with our main couple meeting just about the entire cast by chance on their date. I really liked the final illustration of Moe and Mizuki watching a movie together!

But at least the dad isn't upset because they're gay! He just doesn't like his daughter wasting her time writing silly manga. For all we know he could be perfectly alright with her having a same sex relationship... (yeah... riiiiight...)

Combined a couple of posts there...

I thoroughly expected the wrath of Nikaido to come down on the bully with full force, making Tadokoro swoon, as usual, but this was even better! I expect that, in the long run, we'll get to see Nikaido put that biotch in her place, but I liked the way this played out.

To all the people grieving in here, she just went to sleep because there was no joy in watching the fireworks alone after all that anticipation.

I'll take this interpretation. She just went to bed and is quietly crying and wondering if their relationship will really work while holding her phone and wondering if she should call or text her girlfriend and tell her how she is feeling.

I think we can settle the question of whether this is yuri or not with one simple reference:

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/cast_a_spell#2

Bottom of the page above the title: "Special publication for the winner of the 18th Yuri Hime Lapis Lazuli Prize"

I don't think things that win prizes for Yuri magazines get to NOT be classified as yuri folks...
