What surprises me the most is that the author finally let a male character make a positive contribution to the story. Hopefully Kase keeps remembering his words next time she inevitably worries about her relationship for no reason.

Man, some of you are being really harsh on Himari. It's not like she's done anything tactless yet, she's just trying to get both sides of the story and see if there's a way for them to patch things up.

It has to get serious eventually, though it doesn't feel like it's approaching the endgame just yet so I can't tell if it's going to now.

They apparently intend to leave Ichika's house for good once they're ready to bring the sword away. Obviously she wouldn't be okay with that (especially Aria leaving) so they're keeping her in the dark about the whole thing.

Ikeda Takashi is a man (Takashi is generally a man's name, FWIW. It's easy to get confused because all of his most well-known series (Sasameki Koto, 34-sai Mushoku-san, this) feature female protagonists, even when the stories aren't yuri.

I kinda felt like Ushio's big brother in Sasameki Koto was his self-insert, being a writer and her pillar of support.

I wouldn't look that deeply into it, I saw that as just an extension of the odd friendship they have going on in the main story, their personalities are opposite and Adachi's mom gets annoyed easily by Shimamura's.

I hope I'll be still of sound enough mind to play Dragon Quest in my mid-80s.

The first and last few pages are the POV of Chito, the girl traveling on a barren planet in the first two special chapters, as she first meets Yashiro. Yashiro made a promise with old Shimamura about helping future versions of herself and Adachi find each other, which is what happens in the second special chapter when Chito meets Shima.

That's it, I'm suing.

Every good series on this website is such an "I wish that was me" mood,
which kind of makes me wonder why straight people would read yuri.

I just enjoy good stories and I don't project myself into the characters. In fact, I find it more interesting if I can see a completely different perspective from my own, it's stimulating to the mind and part of the appeal of fictional stories. In this case the author himself is a guy as well so it's pretty evident that imagination allows you to not just consume, but even create a story you can't base around yourself or project yourself into.

To be fair, it's hard to notice a short cameo when your vision is so blurry from crying throughout the whole episode.

The cutest het pair in all of Aikatsu by a mile. Looks like the doujin was made right after the movie, but it ironically ended up being a bit similar to the season 4 episode where Akari goes to Sena's hut to look after him while he's feverish, there's a scene where he falls asleep and she puts a blanket on him which almost directly mirrors this doujin.

@RudyTudySubs: the initial scene is from the movie itself, 1h12m25s onward in Mezashite's release. I guess the doujin frames the rest as a backstory for it aside from the last few pages.

@ everyone upset or confused: the original Aikatsu does have a few prominent male characters, but the only time a het pair is really pushed (aside from side characters) is with Akari and Sena. If you're looking for something that's almost completely devoid of male characters and which pushes yuri a lot more, I recommend Aikatsu Friends instead.

I've been wondering for quite some time now if the author puts half the amount of scrutiny we do into the characters' actions or if she simply sees Kase's behavior as cute and romantic.

I mean she is hiding the fact that she a lesbian (although she could be bisexual).

As pointless as that is considering there have been rumors about it since high school.

^^ Even before that, Chiyo told Aria that she would've had the resolve to raise a kid for the sake of her family had her best friend still been alive, so she never once thought about living freely and she was already prepared to do what was expected of her. I feel she must've found whatever happiness she was able to within her restricted position, but her words to Aria about living freely and listening to her heart first heard in chapter 1 definitely show some regret and possibly relief that her granddaughter's life won't be as bound by strict rules as hers was.
