I don't know what made my heart flutter more. Evie acting like a totally cute girly girl, or Elsa swooning over it.

Definitely Elsa for me. Her having fun was infectious.

Me too actually. I think I got a think for cute top girls.

I hate writing spoilers but it's further on MD, idk what version but since there the same it doesn't matter. Anyway, the boy end up being a yuri fan and be a wingman for Kimura

Huh? (scratching my head) Does that fit the definition of irony?

Man my inner yuri sceptic is a real downer. Lol.

You wouldn't be you without it, johnb.

And you get all that unexpected pleasure when you're proven wrong, which in this case I'm pretty sure you will be.

I actually post my inner yuri skeptic's doubts just so the universe will prove it wrong. And I hope you're right about this one.

Hiyama, sweety…honey. She is STRAIGHT. Please move on, there is no hope with this one.

Most people feign straight until they get a little wet

That maybe true, but All evidence, so far, points to the fact hat Hyama is barking up the wrong tree. In fact if this was a trial, it take the jury less then 10 minutes to return the virtdict that Kimura is straight as an arrow.

Only if they haven't been presented all the evidence we've been shown.

Quite right. Pending further evidence, I’m sticking with my theory that Kimura is failing to drag Hyama into her planned shoujo manga and is slowly being absorbed into Hyama’s yuri story.

Because of the power of love.

My yuri goggles wants that to true, but my inner yuri sceptic tells me this is just a gag comic that will just be discontinued when the writer gets bored of the joke. Man my inner yuri sceptic is a real downer. Lol.

That sort of popcorn exists in the west too... I never bought it though I may have had it when camping as a kid.

It's called Jiffypop I've never had it, but I've seen it on TV and in stores. I've even seen references to it on Family Guy. So it's probably pretty well known.

I mean, I can't be gay! That'd be ridiculous! I just really really like gay women and want to be near them!

Why are you looking at me like that

I once read an autobiographical short story about the first time the author fell in love with another woman. When she finally realizes her feelings for what the are, she thinks, I guess that explains my preference for lesbian porn.

OK, I didn’t find the name-swapping all that difficult, at least after re-reading, but I know I’m not getting the entire connotation of the names:

Bartender’s real name (Momoka) “suits” Customer-san (Makoto) and vice versa, except when Bartender is being topped, at which point “Momoka” suits Baretender “as she turns bright red.”

Professor Wiki tells us:

Makoto (まこと, マコト) is a unisex Japanese name although it is more commonly used by males. As a noun, Makoto means "sincerity" (誠) or "truth" (真, 眞).

[Mamoka] is traditionally a girl's name. The meaning of Momoka is 'flower', 'peach tree', 'perfume', 'smell', and 'hundred.'

I’m entirely lacking concerning the Japanese characters, so is it just that “Momoka” is a more fluffy name than the masculine-leaning “Makoto,” or is there some wider context I’m not getting?

What might be parallel girls’ names in English in terms of connotation?

I thought it was pretty much just the Makoto sounded less feminine thing. Momoka doesn't feel like a woman except when Makoto is "loving" her.
What confuses me a bit, is at the end when Makoto says she doesn't want to borrow and lend any more. I'll give you my name so please may I have yours. The first thing that came to my mind was obviously a marriage proposal, but that didn't exactly fit. You don't trade your given names in a marriage. One partner takes the other partner's family name. And the last I checked Japan still doesn't officially acknowledge same sex marriage. So there wouldn't be any official giving or taking of names, anyway.I still took it as Makoto liking "it" so she is putting a ring (Or in this case, a necklace) on "it" but I'm not totally sure that what she is going for.

It hides in a human host, until it's developed then lures a monster in. It then takes over the host and makes the monster it's first meal.

And it would be luring monsters now while it's still gestating because of why again...?

Obviously the monster has been ready to emerge for quite a while. Fox girl has been fighting off all potential victims, keeping the monster in hiding.

And Miko and Shiori won't do as well as any other because of why now. Not to mention Hina's had a number of pretty darn close critter encounters that oughta have brought out The Ravenous Beast Inside before either of the two intervened...

It's because no monster has gotten close enough to actually eat her yet. Sheeze, I bet you just love poking holes in movie logic. Don't you. LoL.

My prediction is that the monster inside Hinako will be the last monster Shiori will have to save her from. After all when the monster finally feeds Hinako will cease to exist. I invision the monster inside Hinako as dormant maybe even using Hinako like a cocoon to reach its adult form.

...how is that supposed to mesh with your original idea that it's an ambush predator? In this version it'd pretty much do the exact opposite and fiddle with Hina's "scent" so that she REPELS critters if anything; the last thing anything dormant in chrysalis wants is being attacked by a predator while it's in such a defenceless state.

It hides in a human host, until it's developed then lures a monster in. It then takes over the host and makes the monster it's first meal.

What if whatever "possesses" Hinako is not a monster but something more... benevolent? What if, rather than being possessed in the sinking car, Hinako "ascended", so to speak, e.g. to become a local (sea) god? So her "suicidal" ideation comes not from a lost will to live but from a profound alienation from humanity, as deep down she understands she is not one of them anymore. That would explain why she only gets along with monsters/other local gods, as well as why all the monsters want to snack on her.

So you're saying that she is unconsciously trying to shed her mortal coil so she can assend to a higher state of being? How Star Trekian.

I've got a crazy theory. The real Hinako was actually possessed by a monster in the accident. The monster needs to eat other monsters, so it makes her blood irresistible to them, to lure them in

Well it's been fasting pretty religiously for like a decade, then.

That's why Hinako's blood is getting more and more enticing. The monster inside her is getting more and more desperate . In protecting Hinako, fox girl is starving the monster inside her.

So Shiori Will be ironied to Death in the end?

It's interesting, though, that her smell has been increasing even as her death wish has been making it worse. Are these two sides entirely unrelated, or would it disappear if she ever truly feels like living again, thereby also removing the reason Shiori wants to eat her?

If Hinako's enticing blood was just the result of suicidal depression, I would think a monster would recognize that, and realize giving Hinako a reaason to live, would spoil the meal. Unless you're suggesting, Shiori's ultimate motive is actually something other than eating Hinako.

I liked this, but I'll be honest, I didn't really get all the subtext that everybody else seemed pick up on. Can anyone tell me what makato ment by "friends with benefits", and "played around a bit"? I know what they normally insinuate. However if she was casually sleeping around, then why did she feel the need to asure Momoka that the text message, about the hotel, was a misunderstanding.

"Friends with benefits" is a term that means you and another person are there for each other for sexual pleasure, BUT no strings attached. That's why Makato was bothered when the other party wanted more than just that. Additionally Makato said she played around a bit, while she was getting to know Momoka—because they weren't together yet, so she didn't do anything wrong here. It is because Makato and Momoka probably also started out as friends with benefits. When Makakto clarified about what the text message was actually saying, is a way to ensure Momoka that she is taking their relationship seriously. So even if "playing around" used to be a casual thing for Makato, not anymore.

Just to set the record straight, I don't think Makoto was doing anything wrong exactly. I'm just saying, if I were Momoko it would wound my pride as well as break my heart. Makoto is with me, yet she is still sleeping with other people. I would feel hurt that I wasn't enough for her. Add in that Makoto seememd to be fooling around with only guys, I'm pretty sure that, again if I were Momoka, I would quickly come to the conclusion that me being a woman was the problem.

Edit: This maybe my toxic masculinity peeking through, but if had undefined sexual relationship with a woman I'm was in love with, and I found out she was casually sleeping with other people, it would still hurt bad, even though she wasn't actually cheating on me. I would think, "aren't I enough to satisfy you"?!
My bruised pride would probably make me push her away, even after she confessed and proposed. I have big hangup about taking comfort from the person who hurt me in the first place.

And when that happens Hinako will totally disappear leaving only the monster.
