Another problem is that, honestly, Akari's best pair after Chinatsu is definitely Sakurako, probably the person that is the most respectful to her in the whole series. In that case you'd pair Himawari with Chitose.

Isn't Sakurako/Himawari the only definite pair of the story, therefore making them untouchable?

I think the Ayano in this doujin is out of character, but that's one take on the whole situation. Perhaps she doesn't mind polygamy! I mean, they could all live happy together. That doesn't mean Ayano has necessarily low-self esteem, even if that seems to be the case right here (or she idolizes her too much).

It just pokes fun at someone with a serious problem, instead of addressing solutions.

It just shows what is happening to numerous people while trying to keep it light-hearted, in my opinion.

I think that's actually healthy, to take it philosophically. Picturing both the good and the bad sides of the situation and perhaps providing a solution or a good outcome in the end : be it by getting a job or finding another way of living.

Yep, I know the feeling. That said, I'm more trying to seek the reasons behind why it makes people so depressed, why the lack of sense, the lack of purpose affects us so much? Still, the distraction and the gratification are there to make you want to go on. The fact that you use all of your energy just to keep on living means something about death.

Anyway, it was basically the idea I was trying to convey and I know it's not a simple life. It's just easy for people to judge and think you're having it easy because you're not doing much - just like one of the user here was thinking and I found it unfair.

Edit Thinking back to what you said, this sounds more like depression and what causes it than the particular mindset of a neet (of course it's closely related). To be honest, I'm not even sure that finding a job could cure this mindset. A good activity or a good relationship could to the trick, sure, but wouldn't need to be a job. After all, depressed people who are actively contributing to society are not unheard of.

Sometimes, I'm glad Yuru yuri never gets fully serious. It would amount to another level of complicated relationship. Even if judging by the author's other work, she would probably nailed it in a certain way.

I have a hard time seeing Harumin all smitten for Yuzu.. That said, they are pretty close friends and as usual every one's a lesbian in Yuri story but I don't know.. Well, she has Matsuri to fix her broken heart, anyway, so all's well that ends well.

Well, some may claim it's "bad" drama (when it's just less complex/subtle drama than bad, or just melodrama), but I think most of the complaints come down to this point.

Still, love those extra chapters, it does give a necessary dose of fluff :3

I'm not sure Aoba's in love with Kou, it's more like admiration or worship perhaps... But I may be a bit too protective of Kou x Rin...

I hate fanservice chapters like this.

Why though? It's a slice of life story, it's not like it is delaying the main plot or anything, or that it's out of place for friends to go shopping.

Pretty cute chapter, though. I'm sad for Hifumin with Momo who has her eyes on Aoba. That said, it looked like Hifumin was dressing up her Harem :3

In the end, isn't everything we do a distraction to forget the fact that we're all going to die one day? Including work? I guess the point is to chose/find which way you'd like to be distracted from that thought; hence why entertainment works so well everywhere. Is one way better than the other?

Some doesn't have the luxury to chose and have to deal with not dying on a daily basis, in my country we have the chance of not having too much thoughts on what and when are we going to eat. All that is thanks to everybody working to make the society better, but what if the job you're doing doesn't really contribute? Then you start thinking, you see no sense and no future in what you are doing, but.. when you're home, comfy and all, you're playing videogames, reading books, experiencing stuff, going out with friends, you're happy.

Of course, everybody has to play its parts for things to work out, but I can understand why people who can't find theirs in the grand scheme of things would want to at least feel happy a little bit. That said, I have the feelings I may be a bit too lenient generally, perhaps everything I said is mistaken.

These themes that everyone wants to live like Yuzu has no basis in the story that we have seen.

Not everyone, but at least Nene, Harumin and Mei : Nene is obvious, she's a fan and explains to Mei why, and how she'd like to be like her (and says others too). Harumin secretly wants to be like Yuzu, they're both gyarus except Yuzu is more open and confident about it. Mei said so to Yuzu after listening to Nene's praise, even if she backtracks right afterwards.

Soo, yeah I don't think it's the basis of the entire story, but it has some basis and is the foundation of the fifth volume which revolves around Harumin's acceptance of herself. And Yuzu's as well, it's a bit subtle, but Yuzu made her coming out in this volume in front of the entire school IIRC, I'm glad they didn't make a big deal about it. I only realised it in volume 6, the same time as Yuzu, I don't think it's flattering...

So perhaps there is more than just the fiancé to be explored in this volume as well. Even then, I still maintain that the stakes are different from the first arranged marriage. The first one was about getting Mei out of a prison, this one would be about how to deal with their relationship in the future. But it still early to come to a conclusion.

Eeeh, well, yeah neet are running way from society because they can't handle it. Perhaps voluntarily, perhaps not, look at the anxiety she faced during the first chapter. Also sometimes, you let yourself go so much it's hard to climb back, so all in all, her situation isn't really great, deserved or not. I can still feel sympathy for her since it happened to me for some times!

Oh yeah most probably. I mean the author wants to see them together in the end, so it's just an additional obstacle! And this isn't the first time she did that kind of stuff "outside" of the main relationship. The entire vol5 is of the same kind, except, well, being excluded from school is a bit less angsty than seeing her love's interest marrying somebody else.

I know there were subtle drops that certainly could imply cheating but Reiichi just genuinely seems to love and care for his sister and wife, and there's such a strong emphasis early on of them being a family unit it's just upsetting that he would ruin what he has.

Well, you can love several people, it's not unheard of. Also, the one you love are probably the one you'd end up hurting the most, etc. About the family bit, that's Kaoru's hope to see them function as a family with the desire to see Uta opening up after what has happened with her parents. The bro doesn't seem to do a lot about that, he seems rather apathetic during most of the story.

Perhaps he likes their situation but yearns for something more, there is a reason he rejected Kaoru seven (or eight?) times, and perhaps this came back. Also, there is also the possibility he wasn't the one to initiate the affair, he just go dragged into his old story and remembered the good times. Some serial killer were probably perfect gentleman, I don't have a problem with a chill dude cheating as well.

On the one hand, at least this chapter looks like Saboruta gave a shit about the art.

Yeah, yeah... usual cliche. An arranged marriage that she can't get out of because every single adult around her doens't care one bit about what she wants or think. She's such a "good girl" you know.

Well, it was already discussed it at length, the context of her family and her career goal. What could they do at this moment? It's the only logical next step if they continue "normally", so it has happen. But similar to the previous chapter, we don't know what will really happen

Inb4 they elope, then they give up on eloping, then they expose everything to the family, then they are cast out, then Mei's father appears to save the day as a Deus Ex Machina and all is well that ends well and they have several blond science babies.

I'm cool with that, but it doesn't have enough angst! There is the possibility of an arrangement with the boss (that looks like the most likely candidate). I'd also like to see the mother as a deus ex machina, she is their appointed protector, after all! And she's a chill mother :3

Not for like 15 chapters or so, but it is a (melo)drama from the start, so if you don't like that, sure you're not missing anything, but it's still pretty good. I'm loving the angst personally and it's coming back after many chapters of sweetness. I'm afraid Mei will be rejecting Yuzu's kiss... Perhaps it'll spark something in Yuzu so she can finally start being like her old self and meddles in her girlfriend's affair!

OOOOOhhhh Yuzu as much as I adore her annoys me sometimes!! She never lets Mei finish her sentence like ever!

I agree, she feels way too over-protective of her and Mei's love (understandably, though), and especially to over-protective toward Mei. The girl struggles to express her feelings and when she's trying it, Yuzu goes all "no, it's okay take your time"... It's a bit sad :(

Matsuri is still trying to see if she should protect Mei and Yuzu's relationship, I hope she will be some kind of catalyst but in a good way this time; she was already trying to play Cupid not too long ago. I'm afraid of eye-brow girl trying to make them break up (gently) even in order to protect Mei..

Anyhow, a transitional chapter with angst and a bit of Yuzu's sweetness, so it's all cool!

Fuck, that sucks... I guess I'm going to read some stuff to see if I can do something.
