Haha. Even though Happy Flame Time's art style seems kinda rough, or simple, or half-assed, it still manages to be completely awesome lol. I've really enjoyed all the doujins from them that got uploaded here, they've definitely joined my list of great Touhou authors.

Ahahaha, love it. Reimu and Marisa are total assholes in this one, but at least the way they do it is hilarious. This is one of my favourite things about ReiMari, that you can enjoy them just hanging out and going through daily life together even without any necessarily (explicit) romantic development.

Great work on the series! Haha, no problems with the projected release schedule, these past few days of releases have already been quite a treat. We'll be rooting for you.

It's interesting to see the actual basis of the 'Data Processing Club' get explained in the manga...the 'research' segments here feel less defined/set apart from the rest of the show than the anime. Also we're seeing some stuff that only partially made it into the anime (like the "bigger hands" joke); a pretty interesting read so far.

Seems like Yukiho is taking off her ribbons and Haruka is putting on a wig so that they can make AmiMami do the same challenge? (Guessing who is which from behind.)

G has been fucking awesome, lol. Really stepped up the animation and action. I also like the new characters so far.

I'm looking forward to more Hibiki x Miku too...Miku is really great, I like how the creators are serious about keeping her relevant/involved even though she isn't part of the fighting.

Jesus christ this was fucked up (like, in the sense of nonsensical). I give up, what a mess. Also I hated the characterization of Reimu, why the fuck would she want to destroy Gensoukyou. Marisas coming back and trying to kill themselves/each other was just so stupid too.

Damn, just wtf.

Haha, oh wow. I haven't actually gotten into IdolMaster and don't really know they characters very much but this artist's short comics are pretty great.

Dat cover page... "Fanservice"?

Lovely chapter as usual -- really managed to capture some of the tension of dealing with kids who look up to you. I don't blame Hime for trying to skip out on the nap, but getting caught was also perfectly natural, lol.

Haha, yeah, urine play is something I just can't quite get into...Aside from that, though, Sara's an interesting character.

Those flashbacks sure did a good job of throwing me off. I initially assumed that Sara's blond/wavy hair was the natural, and that it was the pigtail look which was a disguise, but the fact that Sara had black hair/pigtails in the flashbacks kept making me think it was the other way around. I guess the flashbacks themselves might just've been Miharu's imagined interpretation of them or something, then? Rather unclear.

Itsuki's line was hilarious: "I'm just protecting you from all the frenzied lesbians", lol. Been a while since I've seen something with so much outright irony.

Anyway, great chapter, lol. The art continues to be as strong as ever, and I'm quite curious now to see where this love triangle will go. Thanks to YP!

Great news! I understand the editor for the original release from /u/ was the same guy, who then brought the project to bakkin to be officially picked up. So this is basically a rerelease from the same people, reviewed for QC.

Glad to see the scanlation starting up again. I'll be looking forward to the chapters to come!

Haha, indeed, although separate from Mokou's hatred I think it'd still be nice if Kaguya and Mokou managed to maintain a bit of playful antagonism. Regardless, as a fan, one has to acknowledge the healing influence Keine had on Mokou -- to the point that I think you could say it is/was one of the fundamental prerequisites for any Mokou pairing.

I got confused 'cause I totally remembered reading this before...but then I realized it's 'cause I've been browsing the entire (raw + English) Kaguya tag on a certain website, lol.

Anyway, holy crap Teruyo is freakin' gorgeous on this page, lol. Goddamn.

edit:

My biggest issue with Moukou x Kaguya, even though it fits "foe yay" perfectly, is what then happens to Keine? I don't think I've ever seen her paired with anyone else.

Plus, Moukou x Keine is my OTP, so there's that.

As a hardcore TeruMoko fag, I've come to appreciate the scenario I've seen a couple times of TeruMoko picking up after Keine's life has ended. I.e. there's no real need to deny the connection that Keine and Moko have, as as immortals Kaguya and Moko will have plenty of time to build a different relationship afterwards.

Saw this on /u/. Had a good laugh. http://i.imgur.com/RBBuNz4.jpg

I do recommend Kiniro Mosaic. Episode one was of the most heart-smashingly adorable openings I have ever seen, although not quite reflective of the content of the rest of the season. The manga, at least as far as I remember of what bits were translated, is quite enjoyable too.

The queen has only showed up once in the very first episode, to be honest I had totally forgot about her until I read this cute doujin. I wonder if she will make another appearnce in season 2 ... that would be nice.

Haha, yeah, I was talking about Kuroko when I said I hadn't seen much of her lately. I do encourage people to try out the manga if they want to see more of the Queen, she's been one of the main participants in the recent chapters.

...Also, she doesn't really act much like how this doujin portays her

Doesn't seem that farfetched to me, though, regardless (although I don't really know the Toaru timeline well). At least Misaki doesn't seem to be a bad person, so I think things could mellow out like this after a bit of development with Mikoto.

This couple is pretty cute, I'm likin' it. Where does Kuroko fall into things, though...I haven't been keeping up with the anime, haven't seen her for a while.

Haha, I did always like the Tropical Girls tankoubon. The stories have a shade of poetry not present in Yoshitomi's other works. I agree that it'd be really interesting if he came back to do a bit more in this style.

lol. I did like the lip service with Marisa getting called an "ominous" black-white though. Seriously, I can hardly quantify Marisa's amazingness to me, she's just such an awesome character (and a lot of doujins have played their role in helping me realize that, too). At the same time, Reimu also carries an amazing mysteriousness for me which makes me love her at an equal level. Marisa and Reimu are really interesting in that whereas in most yuri, the thing which I love ends up being the relationship as a unit and I don't end up carrying any particular feelings/fascination for the characters as individuals/by themselves, with Marisa and Reimu I have a fascination for both their relationship as a unit and their individual characters as themselves.

edit: Hmm, I see what you mean with FlipFlop's other long series though. At least in this one Marisa got to also sit at the mahjong table, in the other one's she's pretty much a complete side show to the main act.

Read this series' tags.

I'm well aware of the tags.

This is a slice-of-life work, so there probably isn't gonna be much in the way of exposition.

This isn't s-o-l. This is more like iyashi-kei. I'd say, that the s-o-l tag is outdated and misleading, but that's a different topic and don't belong in the discussion thread.

The aim here isn't to tell a traditional story, but to create a mood or a sense of place as the characters go about their daily lives.

It's not a matter of storytelling, but rather the lack of experience of the mangaka.
The art is superb, no doubt. But there's more to a manga than art. Look at Honey & Honey. The art is simple, but the characters are developing (w/o ecchi, yuri, etc) and that keeps a manga going.
You see, you don't need extravagant storytelling or anything for character developement, but when there's nothing but art, I could as good sitting in the garden and watch the gras growing. There's more developement in every single straw.
This is Hijiki's first work (i know s/he drew a lot of doujinshi, but they're totally different from normal manga so i didn't count them) where s/he is author and artist.
His/Her first work was a co-op and s/he was only the artist.
Let him/her get some more experience and together with the art s/he'll be a great mangaka.

If you keep that in mind, you won't mind the relative lack of traditional storytelling.

Well, there're manga with the same 'tags' who handled it way better. And I'm not the only one who noticed that.
And just to be clear, i don't mind (extremely) slow paced stories.
I read/watched quite a few iyashi-kei/daily life manga/anime, and they got into my fav-list (e.g. Tamayura Hitotose, Aria, etc).

Your claims that you had appropriate expectations for this story or its development look pretty sketchy given you were comparing it to Sasameki Koto just a post earlier. I'd say this series is proceeding perfectly fine as an 'iyashi-kei' series, to say it has 'nothing but art' is a huge exaggeration. If you'd rather watch grass grow, you're totally welcome to go and do it /lol.

Anyway, great new chapter lol. Drunken Yuuka's harassment of Akane is hilarious and I love the 'four town beauties' development. Only thing is I can't even tell anymore if Riko is completely oblivious to Akane's desire/reactions to her, or is actually encouraging her :P. Haha, Haru, you totally got roped in.

Thanks YP for the chapter!

Oh man, mahjong manga lol. This was great. Feels bad that Marisa inevitably had to play the fool/second fiddle though. Even once you've gained a little bit of skill, mahjong is a game which rubs in your ordinariness in the worst way. For Reimu's natural, unreachable strength to extend even to mahjong...although Yuyuko's perfect reading was even more terrifying.

Anyway, I loved the rest of the thematic presentation of the storyline, too. The tie-in back to mahjong's season tiles was great...I never even really thought about why my set still had them too, although I do think modern Japanese sets have actually widely dropped the flower tiles...

Wow, this is too enjoyable...all of the different pairs are great. Love the group interactions too.

The presentation of Kanna's characterization/problems is really direct; reminds me of myself as a teen to an almost uncomfortable extent. On the other hand, holy crap Yuu is weird/crazy/adorable...I've got no idea what'll turn out as a result of that latest stunt.

Pretty hilarious how it developed in this thread, but thanks to Michan for signing up through the ch. 2 editing. Also, thanks to the rest of the Yuri Project team as well; I really enjoyed this release.
