Every battle cliche in there had me grinning widely.

The architecture on the first page was NICE. I like that art style.

Also, if you refreeze ice cream after it’s melted, the texture isn’t great usually, but I guess it’s still better than wasted ice cream.

The way I engage in this manga is kind of like walking into someone else’s kitchen where everything is burning and/or on fire, lifting up a few lids to see what’s going on, then walking out again

Something that was really interesting to me in this manga was that the some refugees were European-coded. Y’know, with names like “Gina” or “Eliza” or “Rose” and a lot of Western features. It gets me thinking about the effects of colonialism. What if the refugees had been named “Nawal” and “Ifechiluru” or “Shagufta” and “Yu Xi”?

I’m not saying there aren’t any European refugees (obviously with the war in Ukraine) but it’s interesting to think about how our perceptions of refugees would change if an Asian country was overrun with downtrodden Caucasians. Given the current state of the international power balance, it’s thought-provoking.

This feels very ace/aro spec to me. “What’s the difference between dating and not dating?” is definitely the kind of question ace aro people struggle with. (Source: personal experience).

I’m not trying to apply labels to their relationship, just saying it’s relatable.

WHAT a manga. It’s fair to say I’ve never read anything like this before.

But yeah, it could have been longer. It could have been SO much longer. Can you imagine? What if Rose and Benika had somehow taken it down from the inside, like they were talking about?

Also, I don’t really get what happened with the rosary and all that. The church and Babylon, they’re just gonna keep on fighting over… something…? It was too convoluted for me to keep track of anything important.

Yeah, genre-bending stories are not for the weak of heart. I remember reading an old story — written in the nineteenth century — that read like a comedy all the way through and suddenly ended tragically. It definitely threw me for a loop, but it was also SPICY!

Depends on your variety of social discomfort. Extroverts are loud; you have to put up with their energy. And sometimes they pressure you into saying things or interacting. With introverts, everyone can just be quiet. The real question is whether you are more bothered by people being too loud or too quiet. Based on Mitsuki’s reactions, she seems to be the “bothered by noise” type, and particularly “bothered by being forced to interact.”
