Great chapter, though I would never have thought that Khara didn't know Yanyan was the girl she saved back then. Looks like she's getting her own love interest then.

What is the implication on Page 19? "That would mean..." That would mean what? That Shiho realizing Aki has already given up on dating Yori? She knows Aki has not made a move, would the realization that Aki has officially given up really make a difference here? Does she still have strong feelings for Aki and therefore upset that Yori has hurt Aki?

I assume so, I think she considers Yori the one who's taken everyone away and her bet involving Himari is her way of taking someone away from Yori.

Idk why everyone is simping Mc so much, to me she just kind of annoying character. Beside I feel like she become their manager either way if they win or not.

Shiho's condition is that Himari has to become her band's manager, not of Aki's. I wouldn't have expected that to happen otherwise.

Wew, lad.

And look how quickly Serina made some people forgive the bait-and-switch in the previous chapter, heh.

^I guess that could also be why- maybe he would be into girls as a girl himself but not as a guy? I didnt consider that.

Again, I direct you all to consider the most familiar explanation given the author. Masaki from Sasameki Koto was in love with Sumika but since he was delicate and liked crossdressing and she was a tough and tall karate practitioner, he saw her as the "guy" in their hypothetical relationship and himself as the "girl", with this only applying to their superficial behaviour, not their deeper mental state. Not saying it has to be the same case here, but I think there's a fair chance it'll turn out to be something similar rather than going into more complex territory that would start having to require a lot of attention and potentially take away from the main premise and characters.

That's the simplest assumption given his reaction, and he likely wants advice from her on crossdressing. Remember that one of the main recurring characters in Sasameki Koto was a crossdressing guy so there's author appeal there.

Uh, better move a couple towns away after that blunder.

Whoops, guess the reread is in order for me then, lol. She is new then, and Shiho's taking it out on Aki as a substitute.

I see no reason to give her a sob story to excuse her current personality, this felt in line with how she's been presented so far. It's not like she's in the right, I don't see this ending with her winning since, you know, one of the main protagonists is on the opposite team. She's going to have to finally learn it's okay not to be the number one.

Is that blonde violin girl new? I'm having an increasingly harder time distinguishing between characters in this...

She's Aki, Yori's bandmate. The little sister she mentions in the flashback is Miki, Himari's childhood friend. Maybe you should give a quick skim to previous chapters as a refresher.

Flashbacks to the guy Akko from Girl Friends almost had a one-night stand with.

Don't know if it's just Aria who is only vulnerable to the sacred sword when wielded by Ichika's bloodline, but I assume the others are also at least only vulnerable to typical vampire-killing methods like holy water, silver bullets and cutting off their heads, none of which happened here.

It very much feels like the final arc.

I'm not so sure about that, feels like there's still a lot of ground to cover with Aria. We only just got the first real mention of her relationship with Ghika and we know nothing of its current head. Provided the author actually intends for that conflict to be resolved, I doubt it will be as simple as Aria's gang traveling to the Ghika headquarters and laying waste to it or the Ghika coming to Aria themselves. Not to mention this is a series that's always skewed heavily towards comedy so I expect the tone to shift again to the more lighthearted side for at least a bit.

Manipulated Ichika looks cool, she should be like that more often. Maybe without an immortal-killing sword in her hand.

I assume from now on they'll have to deal with Ghika proper so I hope there's still a while before the end, I want to see plenty of cute stuff between Aria and Ichika as a couple.

I'm sure the author herself made stuff like this for her personal enjoyment.

Also betting on him being a fan of her work, he's embarassed since it's yaoi.

^ I assume Pyoro was just joking due to how common it is for yuri manga to get suddenly axed. Vampeerz sells well enough that it has international releases (gotta go pick up volume 3 next week over here) and the plot getting serious is something that was bound to happen the moment the Ghika organization was introduced.

The author really did train us not to expect shit to ever get truly real so as to catch us off-guard when it actually does, huh.

Once that happens, we then follow Mai on her training arc where she travels to lesbian brothels all around the world to pick up on all the local techniques until she's ready to come back and win over Asumi in bed.

There are more and more people with thinking like yours in the thread, so you're definitely not alone. I also follow series with long waits, and the wait doesn't bother me. What bothers me is building up to a specific situation, having a long wait in between, and then having that build up be entirely pointless. Their meeting could have gotten postponed for better reasons, or maybe not set up at this point in time and instead set up later, and various other ways to go about this.

I understand, but I think it still served the purpose of showing what Mai is up to and how she feels, and she had to be aware of Asumi's presence for that to happen. Of course, the way the rug got pulled from under the readers is an old dumb cliché, but it's the kind of dumb I expect from this series since its entire premise is. I'm not holding it to a high standard for writing.

Also I'd personally prefer it if the series got past the meet up, and found a new goal to work towards afterwards. The author could have the series go for a couple of volumes even after they meet up, explore how all the characters interact together, expand on the main pair and if they actually get together or not, side pairs, and so fourth. The art is nice, I just think the author could handle expectations and pacing better. Especially with this frustrating turn of events.

I'd like that too but it's not usually how it goes in this kind of series so I'm not expecting it. It might have to take a bit of a weird turn to get there as well, the premise should be fulfilled once Asumi and Mai meet since Asumi started doing this brothel crawl specifically to find her. Either they start dating once they meet, in which case it would be strange for both of them to keep doing what they're currently doing, or they agree not to and Asumi still keeps hiring prostitutes because she likes it, but in both cases I'm not sure what new goal to work into it.

I feel like the odd one out, but I didn't mind that their meeting got postponed. I enjoy the basic premise of this series and it's most likely going to wrap up once they meet, so I like that we're getting at least one more volume. It's also nice that Mai was introduced in the present some time before she actually meets Asumi so that it's easier to see what her deal is and care more about her. I get the frustration over the long wait between chapters, but I'm so used to that from many series I've followed that it doesn't really bother me.
