Things that normal friends do: Naked sleeping in same bed, bathing together, kissing, petting, sending full frontal nudies to each other every night...

So this is that "normal" from this series... https://dynasty-scans.com/series/you_are_totally_in_love_with_me_arent_you

Honestly, I think it's pretty obvious this is going to resolve itself peacefully, but in ANY case it's nice to see something like development. I have a feeling both of the issues are going to end up resolved at the same time... Honestly, I think Ookuma seems somewhat past caring about gender anyways.

That being said, I didn't actually expect this to go on this long without resolving it, so what do I know?

Well, if you think from a tragi-rom-comedic point of view, dragging the reveal even past Kanda meeting Ookuma's family gives even greater thrills and cringes than we've had so far. As long as you are willing to reject even small shreds of realism and your humanity as an author, there are ways to drag this on for quite a while.

I'm sure that Ookuma's family will want to meet Kanda soon. Friends angle is now closed for a bit, since they gave their advice and it only helped a little. Maybe Kanda gets to enjoy one of those intense "get married and make lots of babies, ok!" talks and all sorts of awkwardness that comes from trying to hide your gender when you go bathing with your father-in-law, when all he's trying to do is to build some rapport. I'm already cringing, and we aren't even there yet.

Did this poor girl move into lesbians-only apartment complex or something? :)

I just realized the first chapter was released in 2015... 2015?? What has happened to my perception of time?? It's just non-existent apparently

People compartmentalize experiences, and we carry multiple identities inside of us all the time. You can try to tell yourself you're an adult, but in reality the earlier incarnations of you are still around and affect you and your perceptions.

For example, if you have a popular TV show you follow, when you watch it you will feel like the kid you were when you first started watching it. Also, you will have a different view on a series if you watch it in a one go vs one episode per week. Emotional dependency and nostalgia over it are going to be too strong and you definitely won't be even remotely objective. This is why you'll feel like a kid every time you fire up that show and stop worrying about acting like an adult.

Reality is that only way to really experience a story like it was meant to be experienced is to only read or watch it once it is ready in one go. If you don't, your perception of it will get messed up. After all, if you stretch an experience that is just 1-5 days long to 5-10 years... Of course it will feel entirely different.

Tiny Daddy is the opposite of Incel. Total Chad-man, who doesn't even need to chase women, they throw themselves at him.

His personality may be rotten, but he can pretend to be nice long enough to get someone in his bedroom.

It says "tsuzuku" つづく AKA "to be continued" at the bottom of the last page. So it will probably continue, especially since Mari and Arisa actually never actually had sex. I'm sure there is at least some kind of honeymoon chapter coming, because there really is no reason not to have one.

Ending is usually あわり (Owari)

Liz and the Blue Bird came out 2018.

What a sad post, Blassy. I'm laughing my ass off here because of it. Do you really hate other people this much?

Now imagine a collab between Taiyaki and Itou Hachi.

I'm actually surprised we haven't had much double divorce, double mom yuri with some step-sister love as a side dish. Also, make all of them actually blood related that comes as a special reveal at some point.

Sweet Jesus on a pogo stick!

Let's just say that if anyone made a call like that to me, I'd would file for a restraint order and tell them to stay the fuck away from me for good.

Holy crap now this is quality work. I haven’t run into something this good in a while.

My guess is that the new guy is either gay or asexual, because he seemed touched at her comment about there being nothing wrong with being ‘alone.’

I quite sure he's a stand-in for all the "herbivore" men and women that have been talk of the day in Japan for a while now. You can probably take it as light social commentary for accepting their choice of not bothering with a relationship, just because other people are expecting him to. Main character is bit different, since she's been desperately yearning to connect with someone and felt that she's worthless, because it wasn't happening no matter how hard she tried.

Many of herbivores (feels weird to call normal people that...) are not homosexual or even what you'd traditionally think of as asexual, but merely people who find serious intimate relationships tedious / not worth the effort and their own hands and internet are sufficient to ward off any sexual needs they occasionally have. Those that want sexual encounters with another person will instead spend their yen on prostitutes and one-night stands.

No kidding. It caught me completely off-guard when the date they were trying to set her up with was the most boringly normal guy imaginable and not an ikemen as this kind of narrative usually dictates. It was a nice touch.

Well, there was that good ikemen guy in the first chapter already. So they already did that, but based on her reaction and refusal to start dating him, they probably figured he wasn't her type.

That Valentine chapter with Chie and Ai is great. Not because it's cute or sweet, but because it's so emotional.

Love isn't just some butterflies floating about your tummy. It can also be heavy and sometimes it can make you cry out of relief and happiness. This also reminded me again why I'm not the biggest fan of pure fluff. Bit of salt makes the nice part that much sweeter.

It was fun, but I have REALLY hard time trying to imagine Yuuko even trying to date a guy.

She has like 3 girl crushes just during her high school years... Two of which are definitely queer themselves (Kaoru and Mizore), and Natsuki probably is as well.

What's the Mizore connection? Something in the original novel?

It's in the second season of anime. When Mizore is not getting along with Nozomi, Yuuko tries really hard to befriend her and get as close as she can. Eventually Yuuko ends up having a very emotional scene involving Mizore's connection to Nozomi and the depressive state she is in over it, because she just can't act as a replacement and it frustrates her.

I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. Also for those who were wanting to see a transitioning character in the manga, you realize these are still kids, so the most they'd be doing in transitioning is taking medication The appropriate age in US is 12-14, but idk about Japan. But uh seeing as Akira has only just started sharing about identifying as a girl, and that her father does not approve (Parents concent for meds), that is not likely.

I've been kind of waiting for someone who is actually trans to talk about this, but since there are a lot of people who don't know how it actually is back there right now:

First of all, in order to legally transition and change your gender in your identification like driver's lisense, you have to:

1) Get a psychiatric diagnosis on having a mental illness regarding your gender.
2) Get castrated by having your testicles or ovaries removed with surgery.
3) You have to be adult, which means 20 years old there.
4) You can't have children at the time. It's only allowed before you have children, or after your children have become adults themselves.

Also, since age to enter work life is around 22-24, and companies don't generally hire people who are in midst of all of this, you are very much going to have to complete the transition after you hit 20, but before you start looking for work.

I honestly think Kodama writes more in terms of netori and not netorare. Netorare involves main character becoming a victim of cheating, possibly in a horribly brutal way. Netsuzou Trap has some netorare elements, because it has that fairly innocent boy who gets dragged around by Yuma, even though she already knows she's not into him. Reader can definitely feel bit sorry for him, but he also isn't a real option for Yuma, so it stays kind of ambiguous.

Netori is the thing where the main character seduces someone's spouse and bangs them. Focus is less in the cheating part, and more on feeling powerful for being able to snatch someone's lover, maybe even so that it stays secret. Kodama is very fond of this, with many variations of this theme happening in her one-shots and serializations.

They just posted first four chapters, so not much comments yet.

This is a somewhat of a dark story, where every main character seems to have mental health issues / past trauma.

Not sure if it becomes fluffier later, but right now it's more like drinking black coffee rather than sweet tea.

Typical double bed is one of those romantic ideas that is not always so fun in practice. I kind of wanted to see them throwing theirs out couple years later out of sheer frustration.. :p

I've never really had a good night's sleep in a bed with someone else if that bed had a shared structure. Not only do you get woken up in middle of the night when the other person shifts their weight, but also have to always stress about waking them yourself.

This manga definitely could have kept going, and without drama too. It's hilarious and somewhat wholesome seeing these teenage girls get the comfort and security they lack through such a pure and fluffy adult like Akemi.

I just wanted to see Akemi sweating in her marriage interview with parents after the cheeky brat made her victory lap in social media about their surprise engagement.
