Sometimes, we all need a healthy serving of fucked up.

The more I read this, the more I like it. They're perfect for each other. Going round and round in circles, stagnant like that. I can't wait to see the day when their lies collapse and they're forced to confront each other. It would make for a marvelous explosion of drama.

I will just go out and say right now, the current event makes the anger people felt towards Touka and Nemu in the wake of Last Magia/Chapter 10 come across as really myoptic in hindsight...

I loved the punishments they came up for themselves. It's a little horrifying actually how vulnerable something like "never use your ring or you die" and "using your ring causes pain" makes a magical girl. I mean how are they supposed to defend themselves from witches like that? They can't even collect grief seeds themselves anymore. And then the maximum penalty, I don't think anybody, no matter how much they hate Touka/Nemu could say that's not a fitting punishment. Although I imagine even more extreme people would think they should be tortured or something lol. But if anybody thinks that, you're a sadist and please no.

The writers have hit off every story beat perfectly from chapter 10 onwards. It makes me excited to see what the remaining events before arc 2 hits will be like.

I have not finished up chapter 9 yet so I had to miss the Last Magia event, boo..... I know who the new Meguca gorl is and all that but I'm sad I couldn't participate.

It's just a massive raid event in the end. A unique experience that builds up story suspense and community, but the event mechanics/wailing on Walpurgisnacht hundreds of times isn't much to write home about. The story will still be there for you to experience whenever you catch up.

Yachiyo wears glasses? What a nice, warm scene.

I think they're sequential. Marisa says "Stop it already" on the third page. Her extreme WTF reaction also makes the most sense if she's seen Alice with these other people and now Shinki too.

I risked using a 100 rolls on the Ashley banner and didn't get her. Even though I really want IroYachi I also need a strong dark unit so it's ironic I got spooked by another light unit, Madoka. I'll barely build up 100 rolls by the end of anniversary if my calculations are correct. Welp guess I'll pray that IroYachi smiles on me more than Ashley.

though we had free copies of Felicia and Sana available through Special Training shop when they released, while Yachiyo and Tsuruno had free copies also through Special Training missions, but when they got their 5* uncap instead, but those have, obviously, long expired.

I must have pulled all of them from the gacha then, because I wasn't around for their special training missions. It would be a good idea for them to add them as welfare since it doesn't make sense otherwise story-wise. I actually remember having a moment during chapter 6 where I was wondering if I would ever get Sana because she'd been added to the team in the story but not to my game roster.

Stamp cards are a series of beginner missions designed to give starting players resources and create a more obvious "content path" for them, as well as forcing them to take certain actions at least once to serve as tutorials, they include stuff like getting a free copy of Yachiyo/Tsuruno/Felicia/Sana for completing chapters 2/3/4/5, so that you are guaranteed to have Iroha's full team without touching the gacha, and are put into a 3x3 grid where completing all 9 missions completes the "card" and gives you an extra reward, before moving onto the next one.

Was this something added to JP currently or has been run in the past? Come to think of it I don't even remember how I acquired all of them.

Hmm, I liked it. It read as more philosophical to me than preachy, the first two pages and last couple at least, which did color my view of the manga. And I do see how it gets preachy in the sense of it does have a strong message that it unequivocally stands by.

Miki actually reads like way less of a pure asshole on re-read. Mostly because it becomes clear her provocations aren't just due to the gender stuff but also emotionally-driven. Still immature but more understandable.

I've long since accepted I'll never fully understand what it means to be a different gender from what you're assigned at birth. It doesn't click for me, what that means, what it feels like to live with that etched into you. For me personally it's because I get caught up in a lot of societal influence stuff. Like in a society with no gender, all of these concepts wouldn't exist right? But then I just have to think about sexual orientation or culture or whatever else to realize it doesn't matter. This is the world we live in and those are the concepts we are defined by and then react to. Given that, being transgender makes sense. It is just how things are.

And well, I think this manga did a good job of showing something like that. It's that question of "what is love" taken on from a different angle with the same answer as many other works.

I hope we get the Mitama's stamp card soon. The second card comes with a free Moemura on it meaning 500 less magia chips are needed to max her out.

What's a stamp card. And I need that free Moemura, I really don't want to slowly accumulate 700+ magia chips to max her slots.

I could read the credits though they really were too small and blurry for a phone screen. They could have enlarged them by 3x and it would have fit on the screen.

I was reading the text messages from the other girls to Iroha that were playing alongside the credits, they were really adorable and fun to read, and I frankly didn't even notice how long it took to get to the end.

Yeah the text messages were one of the best parts. Masara's no profile pic + "Kokoro told me to message you" has already gotten a lot of attention elsewhere, but basically every single text was a hilarious to-the-point encapsulation of the girl.

Also one extra detail from the finale: we get Madokami's main motivation for helping, and it is basically "I am just gonna ship my alt universe self with my alt universe girlfriend", which is amusing and adorable in its own right... and shows that even god is on board with MadoHomu.

I'm not surprised, I mean of course she would want herself and some version of Homura to be happy.

They really outdid themselves with this story. There were some flaws and hiccups but the overall arc has been brilliant. I loved how firmly they stuck to the idea of an universe where magical girls could actually be happy. They still had to work for it, which was what the entirety of chapter 10 / raid / story was hammering in, and that made the pay-off spectacular. Still, I wished Mokyu had stayed irrelevant. That was its only charm to me and I couldn't have cared less that it sacrificed itself, although I have to grudgingly admit Iroha being so attached to it and happy to see it makes the deus ex machina more forgivable.

Also, while I complained of Mami over Kyoko earlier, she has allowed me to do the final fight against Walpurgis in the most correct way possible, so I guess I can't truly complain in the end...

Perfect, no better ending.

That epilogue though, plus credits. So many great elements to it. And it did end up addressing some questions, like why Ui showed up in front of Homura even if it didn't bother answering them. It did ignore Alina though which was sad. And the player self-insert has found its way back, who knows how.

I can't wait for the IroYachi unit event to come out. I didn't know there was an event for it until now and since it wasn't shown here, I really want to see what leads to those wings appearing.

I've cleared the shop of everything in limited stock. Then I started buying orbs and books to prepare for the awakening of whatever other random characters I don't use much currently. I thought I had more than enough event currency left but once again I've underestimated how resource intensive multiple characters get, even if they're all 2*s.

Eh I'm pretty drained for Last Magia. Glad it's only four days long. It's meta how they're making us work for the happy ending though I'm sure that wasn't their main intention.

I just want to say it's impressive there are so many different sex sfx. The dialogue was so stilted it was hard to tell if that was a fault of the translation or original dialogue.

I think everybody's feeling it since the rate at which Walpurgisnacht's raid health is decreasing has definitely slowed since yesterday.

About that... there is some pretty valid speculation that the devs are messing with the kill rate behind the scenes, to give everyone a fair chance at the event, which would certainly explain the massive dip in kill speed we had since yesterday.

Oh funny, I was actually thinking I was glad they made each individual battle have a set amount of HP instead of pure damage based, because stronger players would definitely decimate a raid boss with one HP bar. Guess even that wasn't enough to slow things down. It's awesome to see those stats but where did they pull them from? Is it publicly available somewhere?

Does anybody know what Walpy's throwing at us with her magia attack? It's too blurred to certainly make out, so can't tell if it's a truck, one of those cargo containers, a train, building, all of the above, or what.

Another comment on it, because I love this music and music in general so much, the myriad of new tracks they composed just for this event are awesome. Right now in particular the Sis Puella Magica remix (after beating dark Walpurgisnacht) stands out.

Story edit: "No matter what happens, I want you to be the one I entrust my own hope to, Iroha." Frantic internal shipping screaming.

For a non-meta reason, her personal story reveals some really interesting details about the nature of Uwasa, but you will be able to find that on YT in due time.

Yeah I figured her story might be interesting due to her being a Uwasa. If I had throwaway rolls I would have spent them on her just for that, but I don't, so oh well.

This probably doesn't apply to most of you anymore, but for anybody it does, the Last Magia event provides relatively decent episode story points. 100 or 150 (if set as leader) every battle. Probably won't be able to max out Madokami's episode levels unless I fight another 310 times, but much faster than it would normally have been.

I'm putting in a minimum amount of work for the current event since it's not that much fun for me.

It is indeed very grind-heavy. I think everybody's feeling it since the rate at which Walpurgisnacht's raid health is decreasing has definitely slowed since yesterday. I really love the story though. And how the individual Walpurgisnacht battle is set up, with her flying in the sky when you're planning and her witch head being this massive, eyeless abomination that we attack and are attacked by. I just can't get over how she's upside down, it's counter to everything we'd usually expect in a boss.

I got my first Ryo Midori copy in the free 10 roll today

Got my first copy of her recently too, though from the Madokami fate weave. Also finally got some of the base 3* girls I was missing, specifically Ria and Ayaka.

I'm pretty curious as to how the Eternal Sakura Rumor will be worked into the story seemingly as a normal (magical) girl now. And is there any special reason to get her, meta-wise? She seems like a good unit but nothing meta-breaking.

Still sad waiting for YachiIro unit to appear at some point. I'm tempted to put in a few rolls for Ashley since I don't have her, but unless YachiIro wasn't appearing for another two months, I don't think I'd have the rolls to spare.

Based on their Wechat, it seems they self-published a PMMM doujin called Exchange. I have no idea if it's available anywhere outside of one convention they sold it at, but it looks cool.

Yeah this has got massive self-insert vibes. One glance at the author's Wechat tells you they're a fan of Madoka and Homura.

Time to struggle through her Wechat trying to read a language I haven't mastered.

Edit: Some of the author's earlier posts are really cute. Makes half-jokes, half-probably serious comments about hoping her mom doesn't randomly go through her stuff and find this. Also she was only in high school and already making quality art like this? That's amazing.

Edit2: There's some little things that were mistranslated, but it's also cool seeing how phrases I didn't understand were accurately translated over.

I'll just say one thing since it's not stated anywhere. The original title used the character for star while the translated title is a pun drawing on how 星 (xing1, star) and 心 (xin1, heart) essentially sound the same. This is actually a little surprising since the translated title here immediately gives a different impression of the manhua, but anyway a more direct, immediate-impression translation would be: "Giving You A Star".

The flashback we do see shows us that Alina has no emotional attachment to what's going on. That leaves her nothing to act on but her view of Eve as her ultimate masterpiece(though I suppose this might have been clearer had they bothered to ever actually develop her in the main story - the hints towards it could easily be discarded as just her being a one-note character).

No no, that part makes enough sense, it's the Fur God Uwasa that makes fuck zero sense to me because I have no clue where it came from.

Oh boy, time to pull for Ultimate Madoka. Fingers crossed for her and a 4* in the free daily 10 rolls. Edit: I cry, I got all memoria and one Natsuki. All 2* memoria except for "Surrounded by White Wings".

Ultimate Madoka edit: Fuck, I got spooked by Ikumi. At least I was only at 30ish rolls.

Madokami edit2: Yay I got her. I still have a 145 rolls left for IroYachi. Debating if I should keep on trying for a lucky 2s or save all of it for IroYachi.

Story edit: Second Walpurgisnacht battle, Rika has date plans? With who? Or was she just joking.

"Shut up! This is my universe and I make the rules". What a power move. I wholeheartedly approve.

Page 26 was what jumpstarted me into realizing this was the same author as "Even the Stars are Gone". I think I'll stick around to see what else they write.

The beginning and ending are a little disjointed, since it just refers to pre-windows era Alice's desire to be the strongest, without giving much context for what the author thinks that means. Well it probably makes the most sense for people who finished MS's EX stage, which I haven't, even if I do know she really wanted to beat Marisa then.

The middle part was great though. Having Patchouli personally come out was a nice touch.

P.s In cannon does Alice have rings on all her fingers attached to the doll strings? I Dont think I've seen her wearing them ever before- - In ANY doujin or cannon story I can remember.

She wears rings in 7.5 for sure. You can see them here. It's not directly stated anywhere that the rings help her control the strings, but in IMaP at least, it's consistent that the hand not holding the grimoire (and with rings) is also the hand she uses to control the dolls.

That was good- and I assume the ending was hinting at Alice X Marisa?

I don't think this was meant to be a shippy ending at all. If the ending is supposed to be hinting at ship material, then you'd have to include Patchouli too, because that's what the grimoire and crescent moon signal. I'd conjecture her statement of "what I really wanted back then" is about having friends/equals, not that the author makes it clear exactly.

Yep, it is one of the aspects that makes this part feel super rushed, the likely explanation is that a beat up Alina simply wandered off when everyone was too preocupied about Nemu, but that's hardly a satisfying explanation even if a realistic one.

It is indeed the most likely explanation, I actually hadn't considered any other. I'm just surprised because she is literally relevant for two nodes and then is gone. Like really what was the point of her being there?

From a more meta perspective, I could also tell you that Mokyu is the player avatar and that they wanted the player avatar to do something big in the finale, but that's not a satisfying answer, either...

Yeah that would be the least satisfying answer to me. I was amused when Mokyu was the player avatar and completely useless. I much prefer that type of meta than one where the player character is an obnoxious self insert, taking over the plot just for the sake of it.

==Eve already had the "framework" of the automatic purification system that Touka originally envisioned before contracting, and Mokyu giving it a core that is built to be unaffected by emotions(which Mokyu was, the fact it developed emotions anyway due to being disconnected from the Kyubey hive mind doesn't change the fact it was not supposed to have them) completed it, but without the full power that Eve was meant to have when it hatched, it still only roughly affects Kamihama and the areas immediately around it like before.=

Doesn't that mean the little Kyubey had to somehow have regained the impurity harvesting power, because that's what Eve/Ui used to take away impurities? That's what didn't make sense for me. Like how could it have regained that just from touching Eve? Actually it already touched Eve before and that didn't happen. And it couldn't possibly already had that power because that's what was stripped away from it.

In other news, now that Iroha has gotten her 5* uncap, notably the connect feature of giving Yachiyo mp, I've fallen in love with having them on the same team and being awesome kickass buddy partners together. Especially when they're the only two remaining and they keep on going because they can constantly heal each other. Iroha's connect makes using Yachiyo's magia way easier and Yachiyo's blast discs make it possible to form a devestating 3-blast combo with Iroha. I love when game design reflects the story and characters.

Alina edit: I'm reading through some stuff on the MR discord, and I'm thinking now that this is another case of main story not providing enough context for people who haven't cleared the relevant event/MSS. People on the discord who've played the Holy Alina christmas event and MSS are saying this makes perfect sense. While I've seen the story for neither of those and therefore don't have enough info to say how this could make sense. Well I mean I'm glad they're keeping the characters true to every instance they show up even outside the MS. I wish they'd included more flashbacks though like they did with Kanagi. I have Kanagi actually but never played her MSS so would have been just as lost without the flashbacks.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS. Both the Yugioh parody and the meta commentary from the participants and judges. It makes reading through the terribly cliche porn plot much more bearable and comedic gold. Poor Arei-san, she won't get her happy ending this time though.

The Golden Orchid

Cleared 10-4-2, now I'm stuck on 10-4-3. It's been a while since I've failed to clear a level after more than five tries. The last time was all the way back in chapter 4.

Eve just does too much damage. I do fine until the second stage when the mp regen kicks in. That's when the magia attack thing does me in. And then the status effects make it hard to heal which is bad when I want to rely on a more drawn out fighting strategy. Guess I'll try to find a different strategy or hope a maxed out support carries me with blast crits.

Edit: Welp right after I made this post, I tried again and one good blast disk, powered up with Yachiyo's connect, crit all three hits and took out almost half its health. Ridiculous how overpowered blast crits are.

So I have even less of an idea of how to make sense of 10-4. Alina just disappeared after being attacked by Nemu and the little Kyubey took Eve's place. Main thing I don't get is why the little Kyubey would help them. Clearly it's gained consciousness of its own, but why would it care? Did Ui's spirit make it want to be helpful? And how could it just take Eve's place and absorb all the impurities in the area instead of Ui/Eve? I don't remember the exact explanation of what Eve did so I've got nothing.

Reading the manga also made me remember just how closely the little Kyubey clings to Iroha everywhere. And how amazing it is that at some point they just all stop commenting on it.
