Can't really expect a better ending when even the author admits they couldn't recapture the feeling from something they wrote and published four years prior to the making and release of the book. Really that underclassman girl was more like a catalyst in the last chapter for the author to say "hey, here they are a year later and they're getting together, happy end, yay!" A catalyst with apparently really violent fan reactions.

1994-1996, good lord these are almost as old as I am...
Hayashiya's works seem to have been quite wonderful for a long time though.

Glad we get to see backstory for Shiena here since she was basically ignored in the anime.

All of my yes. :D

Also, I love the character relation chart with everyone pointing at Sei except the one fat arrow to the side between Yoshino and Rei.

I'd say both het and yuri are fine since gender bender is in there. Maybe bisexual tag too?

Anyway, I remember hearing about this one a long time ago, but just never got around to it. Now I'm really quite glad it's here so that I could read it, I like the ending and all the acceptance she has for herself. Also, office guy is a d-bag.

Wow steamy~

This art style was pretty hard to look at. I'm not saying it's bad but there are no shadows or shading so it just looks very....bland?

Yeah, it's overly simplistic, kinda like some of the simple CGI rendered animations and games. It's almost like they traced over CG renders.

So I'm not the only one who thought that, I was wondering why it looked so awkward like CGI

I took a second look and some spots really do come across as looking like CGI to me too. From a technical standpoint, I don't even think the artist would need to trace anything, just tinker with some settings and get white characters with black outlines.
Honestly, I'm not opposed to the use of CGI, but even if it's not the artist needs to work a bit more to make some of these poses look more natural.

The setup reminds me of Love Lab. The doll even has a similar face.
It's a oneshot you say? That's too bad; it would be pretty funny to see their misadventures being perverted.

Not going to read this, but eyeball licking?
I'll be counting the days til we get something else with that tag

I read an article where that was actually a thing for a short amount of time in some parts of Japan... They had to put up PSAs or something asking them to stop because of how unsanitary it is.

Either way, this artist is also now on my blacklist next to SOFTCHARM...

I realized soon into chapter 2 that this is the same author of Franken Fran, and I really enjoyed that series (despite the excessive gory detail). I just got to the first extra, so I was thrilled. I really like the way this story flows, just the normal everyday activities of a blind, deaf, mute, esper. If I had to compare it to another work on the reader, it would probably be something by Dowman Sayman, I really think these authors have something similar going for them.

*edit: Thinking back on it, in the first extra it was probably a good thing she didn't ask for any kind of surgery, who knows what might've happened...

I'll say that the art does improve a little further on, but obviously the style itself won't change. As for the story, it really feels quite fanfiction-y, complete with misspellings and gratuitous Japanese words, but the overall concepts weren't all too bad. I think my impression of this one is that they tried. It wasn't the best, but it could have been worse.

Is the place where Kiara and annie live Hawaii? since they have english names and they refer to "the big island"?.

That's kinda what I want to think, but it doesn't take nearly that long to get from Japan to Hawaii. A 14 hour flight will get you all the way to New York... Hawaii only takes like 8.5, plus the islands aren't made of coral.
But, she did say something about a lot of Japanese tourists, so we can probably assume that either the author just didn't do their homework or it's an imaginary island. Based on the level of accuracy/realism in Earth Girls, I'd lean more towards imaginary.

*Edit: Chapter 4 afterword confirms it's an imaginary country.

Can someone explain to me why Eris is ringing that bell at page 8?

Bell??

Begone! The sex-devil inside me! <- Like this.

It's called a wooden fish. I'm not kidding, you can check out Wikipedia. It's used during certain Buddhist rituals that involve chanting, so that's about the gist of what's going on there.

Wat.
I seriously thought she was going to shoot herself in that one scene. I don't quite remember what the movie that part is parodying is called though.

I get the story, but the last line is a bit confusing for me. Does the proposer mean that because she/the ring was rejected/not being used it's not as special anymore (The ring is as plain/common as a spoon)?

Maybe it could be that even though she has the taste of silver in her mouth, the situation is now completely different. Last night she was enjoying a romantic dinner with the other woman, tonight her proposal was rejected, but the taste is still the same.
There could be some sort of deeper and/or metaphorical meaning in there, I dunno, the idea was kinda half baked in my head...

I love when you get to see a physical boomerang like that. (pg. 9-10)

Also:

Why Kyouko's joking about Mami's (as if) breaking up w/ her BF?
I mean, if Kyouko is a classmate (or at least schoolmate) of the other four, this has to be in the new world from Rebellion, right? So Mami has Charlotte by her side and shouldn't be in need of a BF.

This was made before Rebellion. According to the info on page 17, it was released on 3/17 while Rebellion came out 10/26. Though the fact that it's a high school setting might also give away the AU-ness.

Um, OrangePekoe, you might want to replace the version you have here with these:
http://ihoshiku.tumblr.com/tagged/iHoshiku-Translation
The tl and English are MUCH BETTER. (and it's up to chapter 19, to)

If these are "MUCH BETTER" I'm afraid to find out what the other ones looked like...
