I'm not too up to date on every piece of story, but the basic gist is that on the relationship chart seen in-game, the doctor, Kal'tsit and Amiya are linked together. Kal'tsit's attitude towards the doctor is also very passive aggressive and snippy, which could be interpreted as ex tensions. Might be other 'evidence' too.

Personally I'm fine with it because any other fate weave means more time until IroYachi. And it'll be nice to see Alina again in the event. Though I'm still salty Ashley fate weave led me to use up 100 rolls.

All I mentioned about Sudachi is pure character stuff, covered all in her Personal story or her training event story, so I didn't think there would be much issue to talk about it in the open... I apologize if you feel otherwise.

Oh no I just personally consider all non-NA released stuff as spoilers. So I guess technically it's not arc 2, but it is non-NA released stuff.

I feel a point this event doesn't particularly take in account is that as someone who lost her parents at a very young age and in a particularly harsh manner(both what she thinks happened, and what actually happened), Felicia definitely has abandonment issues that don't normally come up, which are at the core of her behavior in this event, she isn't just jealous of Ui, she is fearing that Ui is replace her and that she will lose her place in the family.

Agreed, a large part of why I wish they'd handled her with a bit more sympathy than just "tantrum-throwing, jealous young kid".

EX 5 isn't awful compared to some other challenges we had, if anything it is far easier than the EX 5 from Sayuki's event, I was actually able to clear it just fine with good ol' Double Doka, but that was just my personal path of least resistance, I didn't really want to think here.

Weird I don't remember that one being particularly hard. I think I used Ashley whale supports and after one or two tries they went down. This one seemed a bit harder because there were so many of them and Sana got annoying a few times. She wouldn't let me kill Ui. XD Did clear it with an attack-memoria based 4s support Madokami. But I also got lucky with crits and none of my girls died before I got rid of Ui, which they had in other runs.

Finished Ui's event story, interesting how it doubles as a doppel story too. More conflicted on how I feel about this one especially compared to Eternal Sakura's. It was more of a mess and I don't think its core themes carried through as well.

I wish they'd treated Felicia's feelings more seriously and with more sympathy, since if they're going to hammer how hard they're kids in, well, she's a kid too. Although she admittedly acts younger than her age so my answer is biased by how I keep thinking she's an elementary schooler LOL. Having just looked up the wiki and found out she's 13, I guess their response makes more sense now. Though there's still an argument for having handled her slightly differently.

It's amazing how the Momoko Trio has just been added to the Mikazuki Villa family.

EX Challenge 4 was already sort of difficult, EX Challenge 5 is even worse. I'm guessing double Madokami + anti-curse memoria will make it go much easier, and then it's just magia spamming from there. Maxed out 4s dark/light blast gorilla too should make short work of them too. I'm attached to healing / magia builds now though so will try those first.

^I'm surprised too. It even has an English dub which means it's been worked on for some time.

@Dietskittles Highly recommend. Honestly the games themselves don't provide that much to work with but there's enough little snippets that shippers go crazy over. There's also official + canon manga and magazine articles that build off the world and provide more story outside the games.

That bit about the relationship being an extension of the institution feels like it taps into something pretty fundamental about the genre. Kinda wanna blow it out of proportion and say yuri Marxist.

Not sure about yuri Marxist, but it is an interesting call-out of how closely yuri is tied to an all-girls school setting.

That title sucks. I wasn't prepared for this angst.

The most haunting aspect has to be how Lappland happily, even lovingly declares that this is what's fitting. Over and over. And the final look in Texas's eyes is so hollow.

Oriko and Kirika are designed as more extreme/edgier versions of Madoka and Homura

Yeah it's interesting, their actions are oriented towards the respective person's goals, but their personalities are 'switched' in terms of pure introversion/extroversion. Oriko is continuously doing the same thing with limited info and something always goes wrong, while Kirika has more of the childishness and innocence. At least based on the limited amount I saw of them in Oriko's episode story.

I wish so much that MR had an auto-repeat feature in addition to an auto function. Using up all AP pots is impossible without superhuman endurance, since the most AP that can be spent at once is 30.

Eh they'll be fine. Unless they keep being consistently evasive with each other. But they'll be fine otherwise especially by real life standards.

You don't know the tech? you can force your girls into cooldown by putting them into a team, going into a fight, and immediately surrendering, this will put them on cooldown as if they were taken out in battle, meaning they will be fully healed once their cooldown ends, allowing you to have unlimited heals instead of just 10 per day.

I didn't realize surrendering would take them out too. Well not like I could have done much with that info either way last time with zero doppels.

Unrelated to any recent events, but I got Oriko in one of the anniversary 10-pulls and I was sort of annoyed that she was one of the characters with doppel quests. Never read the spin-off and I only knew her as being a "bad" unit so was impatiently grinding for episode xp so I could throw her aside as soon as possible. I sort of regret my attitude now (nevermind that she's a 2D fictional character) because her episode story was really sweet and concisely showed her personality and relationship with Kirika. I like her a lot more currently.

How long have you guys been playing? It's taken me two months-ish of active playing / event grinding to get a grand total of five magia lvl 5 girls, so context would be helpful so I can know when there's potential to be just as badass. XD

After the last event, I had enough destiny bottles to 4s Kaede, first 4s besides Iroha so that was cool. But after finding out how low the conversion rate from destiny gems -> magia chips is, I'm going to stick to spending destiny bottles on 2s/3s in the future so I don't waste any gacha obtained destiny gems. F2P lyfe ftw.

Since I blew 100 rolls on the Ashley gacha without getting her, I'm glad the IroYachi gacha isn't arriving yet.

Fledgling event: It's great they made a test for magical girls and are starting to formalize training, but clearly Ui is a test run if they hadn't even decided how much support would be provided. I liked those deliberations. Quite realistic from my experience.

I'm really enjoying Felicia and Tsuruno's interactions. Tsuruno chasing after her like she's a misbehaving puppy or something is adorable.

Final chapter??? Why? This felt like it was supposed to be a much longer story.

^Honestly I can't remember much of the story at this point, including the nuances of how Kurokawa feels, but my bet would be on something closer to that interpretation.

Didn't expect to but I cried when Touka had her outburst about how everybody hates them. Nobody was as harsh on Touka and Nemu in MR as themselves and that really hit home. I thought the variety of survey responses was realistic too. Terrible things happened and many people have lost things but it's still fucked up to wish death on elementary schoolers, even if they are very smart.

During the most recent summer event, Kaede comments on Rena's bust size, Yachiyo gets irritated without an explicit explanation, and she takes Rena's side in terms of "You don't have to draw attention [to my bust size]".

If you're comparing them equally though, as in all of them in swimsuits, Iroha and Yachiyo look the same to me. I think Magia Record only has two avatar bust sizes, space in between or no space in between.

The mention of yuri made me reflect on how I started playing this game for the yuri undertones and am now completely trapped by the gameplay, ever-sanity-draining resource grinding, and story. This game is really amazing. Random appreciation post.

Saeko annoys me more than Miwa right now. I can understand fear. But overdone bluster is a little annoying even if it's understandable in the end.

So I skimmed through the light novel series after seeing this chapter and a bunch of recommendations, since there's a free fan translation online. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't get light novels. It's like a script for a manga but with less detail, mostly focused on very basic dialogue and gags, and the whole isekai thing just seems like a way for the MC to automatically know everything and have like 0 real conflicts/obstacles?

Keep in mind the original was very roughly machine-translated, which contributes to the feeling that there's less detail and it's all basic dialogue. I know I was put-off by the awkwardness of the phrasing and style at first. It is true though that in this particular story, there's a lot of relatively simple back and forth dialogue. That does not apply to all light novels. Adachi and Shimamura (also on this site) is a prime example of that, so there's really no need to generalize. I would recommend not assuming there's no conflict or obstacles as it's clear the protagonist is hiding a lot from readers.

I wonder if the manga will have this scene, which honestly was just the highlight of the series and the only reason I don't regret skimming through it:

Iroha is so fun to play as. I never realized before because I immediately discarded her when I got Kyouko, oops. When she has Me x 4 and a hp regen memoria equipped, like Those Days Are Gone, plus Madokami's EX hp regen, she can take some pretty strong hits and go back to being at 100% health.

Got the event memoria, Even the Uwasa Know it, and it's adorable. Though RIP UI: "Ui is... a little dense sometimes..."

Edit: I can't believe it, another light unit from the anniversary premium fate weave pity. It's Kokoro so I can't be too mad. I'll finally be able to see her MSS and how she falls in love with Masara.
