Ah! Her Tale of Shim Cheong shout out! It's so good.
I love the series. It's probably my favourite yuri. I plugged it as many times as I could in the credits pages, though I had a hard time finding fanart for it!
To give a not so brief synopsis of what's to come: (Seriously... if you don't want spoilers, DON'T READ THIS!!!!!!!
For what it's worth, you're pretty off base regarding your predictions.
Oh, I wouldn't doubt that at ALL! I'm just going on the visuals, so it's hard to tell what's going on. I'm seriously looking forward to reading it!
Here are some suggestions for you Yamada:
- Buy your girlfriend some quality sunblock and tell her to use the stuff you bought instead of borrowing stuff from her roommate.
- Tell her when you're going to come see her.
- Realize that when she's working as a waitress, she doesn't have control over what the customers do. Sure, if she was and experienced waitress she might be able to handle that many girls wanting selfies with her, but she isn't and she doesn't know what the limits of the old saying "the customer is always right" are. They're just taking pictures, not kissing her or even asking her out on dates, and if they did, she would turn them down.
- After all these years, you have to realize that she LOVES YOU! Didn't her embarrassing behavior at your ill-advised foray into group dating prove that, yet again?
- TALK TO HER ABOUT WHAT'S BOTHERING YOU instead of bottling it up!
Nanoha's realization, that all the things they've done before, was just "stuff that even friends can do" actually had me laughing. That was weirdly meta XD
Nanoha: Sorry, I just spilled a little.
Me: Nope, not yet girl.
Nanoha: *squeezes herself next to Chidori, full-body-contact*
Me: ...now you did. >.>
LOL! Exactly!
I've seen some of the upcoming chapters in another language. Can't read them, but... it was worth looking... (before you ask, there was a post somewhere in this thread with a link I think... I think it was Chinese... and no, I'm not going to discuss what's coming up, just that I'm looking forward to it and want to see what's beyond what I've seen on that sight more than I want to see what I've not been able to read...)
Could you tell us a bit about what happens next under spoilers? Or the link for the Chinese version?
Well... I went back and found the link, and I'm glad I did, because it goes further than it did before:

It's time for the cultural festival. There's hotness... The two formerly useless ones get a chance to walk around the festival together after their shift with the class project is over and take the opportunity to sneak into an unused classroom where Nanoka steals a kiss behind a curtain... but someone sees it from the hallway... That someone? Well, we've had the arc with Chidori's senpai that she used to have a crush on... now it's time for Nanoka's senpai from the Basketball team back in the day who she "ADMIRED". Did she crush on her or just admire her as a great player and reliable senpai? Hard to say without translation... but she's the person who saw them kissing AND she's injured her leg and has to take time off the basketball team SO: she's going to become a (hopefully temporary) member of the literature club! She appears to have one of two goals in mind:
1) break up Chidori and Nanoka so she can start dating Nanoka.
2) break up Chidori and Nanoka because girls dating each other is just wrong, but why am I feeling so flushed around Nanoka anyway?
Translation is needed to know her real goals. There are plenty of flashback scenes from her perspective to give us the info when we get there. Eventually, after literally getting in between our protagonists at every opportunity for several chapters, hugging Nanoka out of the blue, joining them on what appears to be a date that they were planing on taking together, etc... ALL with Nanoka being especially oblivious to what's going on and it's impact on Chidori... the 2nd years are heading off for a class trip and, for some reason, Chidori and the basketball senpai end up alone together and senpai says something about having seen Nanoka naked all the time in the locker room or something like that to totally get inside Chidori's head, because she has noticed by this point that the senpai is paying special attention to her girlfriend. With this weighing on her mind, she says something to Nanoka at the start of the trip (I think she also gets a text from the senpai right before it) that starts their first REALLY BIG fight. As in they go around to places separately... Eventually, they end up meeting up at a particular place and making up in a beautiful scene that I won't spoil... then there's the bath scene... and if you thought they had trouble dealing with the aftermath of the kiss, try the aftermath of THAT... let's just say things happen in the bath and there's more emotional fallout... When they get back, I'm pretty sure the senpai can tell that she's lost though. That's where the last one leaves off.
I'm really looking forward to reading the actual, official translations of the light novels when they come out... The manga is cute and all, but I really want the whole story from beginning to end.

Truer words were never spoken, even if it is on the credits page...
Was that their first kiss? I'm reading so many manga that I get my facts mixed up some times.
Yes, it was their first kiss. They had only held hands before that pretty much. Both of them had THOUGHT about it... a LOT.

I find myself constantly thinking these days that this is the best manga that i am currently reading.
There are others with much deeper stories or better art but ultimately this is the one that's always guaranteed to put a smile on my face and making me feel good about life. Even simply seeing that there's a new chapter to read is enough to make me feel ecstatic! = D
Ditto! I don't know why it took me so long to start reading it. I just started a couple of months ago. I'd read a couple of chapters a couple of years ago, but I didn't keep up, then one day I decided to marathon it and BAM! I was hooked!
Chapter 180: Formal love declarations.... Have they told each other they love each other before? I'm pretty sure Chie's was an attempt to get a reaction out of Ai, though I don't doubt her sincerity. Ai's response is obviously straight from the heart.
Chapter 181: Kohai of the Month? Kohai of the YEAR! Just ask your sempai out on a date already! The section at the end is cute, too though. [Having joints that make cracking noises every time I bend them, I feel Nononon's pain. Back in college I used to love to give people back rubs, put my knuckles right next to their spine on both sides, and crunch my knuckles repeatedly all the way up their back. Nobody expects somebody's knuckles to be able to crack repeatedly like that, so they think your really cracking their back and it freaks them out... I've got a bit of Yuu in me I guess....]

We also all knew from here Mio's tendencies...
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/virgins_empire_ch09#12
True dat!
On a VERY positive note, though, we made it through an entire chapter with the two of them WITHOUT Mio talking about or having traumatic flashbacks to either seeing Shizuka kissing Kaoru OR the two of them nearly breaking up... or was it threatening to break off what they had up to that point and then officially starting to date? (I think the key in Mio's mind was that, despite the lies Shizuka had told her, the truth was that they weren't in a committed relationship yet. They weren't exclusive, basically. Didn't hurt any less...)
A week's worth of sex in a day? There is only 24 hours in day...
Remember, they're still in school and don't have their own apartments to have all night love making sessions normally, so they wouldn't have hours and hours of sex on a regular basis at this point. That has to wait until they're failing college.
then we'd be in danger of turning on her and siding with Reiichi.
Everything you said makes sense until this.
I'd sooner throw myself off a building than side with Reiichi, regardless of whether he's cheating or not.
But the OP said "if the evidence given to the reader was more scant," before that. Taking that line out of the context of the complete sentence it was written in changes it's meaning entirely. I agree with the OP that, if there weren't so much evidence presented so far that Reiichi was cheating and Kaoru was acting exactly as she is now it would be very easy to sympathize with Reiichi. However, the evidence IS there. He was walking with her, in town when he was supposed to be out of town on a business trip, on the day that Kaoru fell and hurt herself; Uta told Kaoru that it was Risako who returned her phone because she was there when she fell down the stairs; Risako lied about having seen Reiichi recently; etc... there's just too much gaslighting going on for the two of them to be entirely innocent. However, I do expect that Risako isn't lying about not wanting get married. She's probably just having sex with Reiichi because he's easy and won't try to get her to marry him. If Kaoru ends up divorcing him, she'll drop him like a rock.
izumi's feelings are a little... well, how should i put this... nanaki had a boyfriend in the begining of the story and it didn't seems to bother izumi so... why? all of a suden...? isn't that a little fast? it's difficult to buy it.
Well... she is the one who showed Nanaki the picture of her boyfriend cheating on her that lead to her breaking up with the guy, so she obviously cared enough about the situation to figure out that her ex was a cheater. Who knows, maybe she even asked the girl he was cheating with to hit on him? (Maybe it was her in disguise and she dumped him right after successfully breaking them up? Probably not, but at this point I wouldn't put it past her.)
This one is to fun! I wonder how often it's actually published?
This is really good so far. Reminds me of some other recent ones, but with better development. I'm looking forward to seeing how much pain Maki gets put through by this unfeeling woman... (Or if she's actually not as unfeeling as she seems...)

Ai: WHERE IS THIS CONVENIENCE STORE CLERK I NEED TO KILL?!?!?!?
Pre-amnesia Arisa has absolutely NO filters!
Come to think of it, post amnesia Arisa doesn't have very many filters either... just a lack of knowledge.

5 bucks says Umayoshi san will try to seduce Non-chan, who will reject her in the next chapter
That's a bet you are sure to win! The real question is whether Non-chan will tell her girlfriend about it and whether the seduction will be successful? I hope the answers to those are YES (telling her she was right and she's sorry she didn't pay attention to her concerns) and NO because she really does love her girlfriend.
BTW... does the girlfriend EVEN HAVE A NAME?
It is actually suggested several times that they have a physical relationship. I wasn't able to find a reference that suggests that they have sex, but here's one that certainly implies that they get physical:
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/a_room_for_two_ch56#4
Kasumi: You're going to be teaching? That's amazing!
Sakurako: As far as I can make out, I'll be tutoring...
Kasumi: HUH? You wanna make out? Doing it here is a little...
Sakurako: NO! I meant I'm going to be an assistant! I didn't say anything like that!
Then on the next page, Kasumi admits that she tends to not listen very closely and her head goes blank when she's hungry and she gets sleepy when she eats...
But Kasumi's reaction isn't one of shock that Sakurako would want to make out, but that they're in public, which suggests that making out in private isn't something that would be a problem and is probably a regular thing.
Then here:
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/a_room_for_two_ch56#7
When asked for love advice by one of her cram school students, Sakurako realizes she doesn't really have any experience with the whole 'does that person like me or not' aspect of love, because:
"Kasumi-chan and I were pretty lovey-dovey from the start... so I guess I've never had to worry about that stuff."

A lesbian couple with a cat.
Where did I see that already?
Next door?
I wish I could transport into that manga, slap the mother-in-law and talk some sense into her.
Well, I can only hope somebody will do it.
Don't we all! Sadly, I've known parents who were almost as bad or worse in other ways and you just can't slap sense into... I mean talk sense into them...
I'm starting to wonder if her husband doesn't have some sort of problem. He certainly doesn't have a filter, that's for sure! First he blurted out the stuff about cheating and asking if it was a one-sided thing at the BBQ, after saying he wanted to go to the BBQ in the first place when Ayano was planning to decline, wisely. Then blurting out that they might get divorced to his mom and "she's really pretty". What ever happened to Japanese men being reserved? He couldn't say, "Mom, it's a private matter between us. We'll deal with it."?
But, then again, with the way his mother is, he probably couldn't... because he hasn't ever grown up... because she's still keeping him as her little boy and trying to control his life.
sorry but I think this is kinda boring to be honest
There's only been 6 chapters!
Anyone want to bet the sister-in-law is gay? This manga seems too realistic for that kind of coincidence, but it ain't completely out the realm of possibility
I wouldn't bet against that. I'm wondering if she'll move in with her in-laws and end up with her sister-in-law trying to make a move on her, against her wishes, after finding out about her cheating, getting walked in on, and her getting blamed for it, because she's the one who's been seeing a woman outside of her marriage, after all.
Maturity is not judging the way other adults choose to spend their free time because you realised it's none of your business.
Back when I had a kid who played hockey, I NEVER got to sleep in on weekends. Now that I'm older and my kids are older, sleeping until noon on the weekend is a totally regular occurrence for me. (My wife works most weekends though. She's a nurse at a hospital, so she's gone by 6:15 am the days she works.) I've always been of the opinion that a "Good Morning" is one where you don't wake up until afternoon...
(Well... actually... my youngest has moved back home now and is going to the local community college and working as a barista, so occasionally I have to get up to take her into work in the morning because she never got around to getting a driver's license because she was at a boarding school for math and science geeks and it made it really hard to get in the required driving time, then her first year of college was at a school IN Chicago where she couldn't have a car on campus anyway, so there wasn't any reason to bother... then she turned 18 and didn't have a valid permit anymore... We wouldn't want to pay for parking in downtown where she works anyway... so I guess the kids are still making me get up on the weekends sometimes... But her opening the place where she works at 10 or 11 or whatever is NOTHING compared to going to the hockey rink between 7 and 8 am for practice or a game!)
You've said too much. I may have gone to the same community college. Quite a while ago, though.
LOL! So did my wife!
As for the maturity part, we're analyzing characters and themes here, not actual people. And the way that scene is framed among the other panels there, I think we're encouraged to judge the guy. It goes along with the title. Even though we're adults, we do X. Like the off-handed invites from person to person here in chapter 5 without thinking about the consequences at all and then just stumbling into a horrifying social situation.
It's probably a larger comment on this is what adults are actually like. I feel like we're encouraged to judge, and then it's up to us to question those assumptions. What does it mean to be responsible in these situations? For the waking up early stuff, is it an example of the guy being irresponsible or is it just part of his character? Is it bad? Does he change? As for the sleeping in thing, I think more than judging him, it's supposed to give us insight into their marriage. They get along well, but all the romance is gone. It's like the rings that neither of them wear.
I agree with you about the title, and the bbq. Clearly no one wanted it to end up like that, but Akari impulsively agreed to go, then impulsively invited Aya, then impulsively invited the husband. Aya told him about it without thinking, and then he agreed because he's sort of in shock and isn't thinking clearly.
Yeah, I kind of agree that the sleeping in is supposed to be a thing we're supposed to judge him on and that the title relates. But I don't really think that it pertains that much for people who don't have kids. There are plenty of people who sleep in on weekends when they are fully grown adults that aren't immature.
I don't think that we're supposed to think that the romance is GONE from their marriage. I think we're supposed to think that the romance was never THERE in their marriage. If you read through the part where she recalls how she ended up married, it really comes across as something UNROMANTIC:
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/even_though_were_adults_ch02#19
And the wedding picture of the two of them on the page after that one? UGH! They look like they're in pain!
Another mess piles on.
The Mother-in-law's reaction rings so true. "Just a kiss, it doesn't count".
I think she cares more about how her family is going to be seen if he divorces than about his, or Ayano's, happiness.
Exactly this. Not to mention if it gets out that they divorced because Ayano hooked up with a woman. The mother-in-law infuriated me beyond belief here, but it is a fairly realistic take, especially considering it is Japan we are talking about.
It's obvious that she cares FAR more about appearances than she does about happiness. And she's even more concerned that Ayano get pregnant and start giving her grandchildren PRONTO because, after all, that's what she bought her for! What? You don't buy brides in the 21st century? Sorry... she didn't get the memo.
So... does Jimiko stand for Teraji Miko? (Last part of one name and all of the other.)
This isn't Yuri remove the tag
May I refer you to chapter 17...
No! it cannot end like this. This was a story that I was actually emotionally invented into! There was so many things to go through.
How about Saki´s ex-girlfirend (That cheating cunt) I would like to have a confrontation like that sempai in Hana ni Arashi
How about Shizuko making more friends?
How ablout Shizuko having to deal with all the new and embarassing things that come with dating Saki?
How about Mio helping his sister dealing with the problems of having a girlfriend?
How about a depper look into Aoi´s character?
How about a love interest for Mio-kun?
How about Saki and Shizuko first time? (wink-wink)
How about Mio and Shizuko´s parents?
How about Saki´s parents? There was so much going on... Why it ended like this?
Wait... parents? What are those? Do Japanese children have those anymore?
Well... for some reason I hadn't seen this one before the plethora of chapters released yesterday... so let's have some impressions as I read...
Chapter 1: Alright... that happened... Exhaustion can lead to some strange life choices, but it's clear that the hottie wanted to be taken home... Homeless? Into B&D? We'll see soon...
Chapter 2: Well, that explains a LOT! Chi-chan is an author after all... she's bound to have fans. So this one is a bit more fanatical than others. But, on the bright side, she cooks and cleans really well and she's got that healing vibe to her, so... WTF, right?
Chapter 3: She has a point... It's much better knowing that she's a stalker NOW than finding out later. And she doesn't seem to be the yandere type of stalker. She seems like the type who wants to make her favorite author's life better, including helping her get over her writer's block... and wash her back if she lets her...
Chapter 4: I think I have to side with Nagi on this one... Chi is looking a bit unhinged there...
Chapter 5: So... Chi has no social skills and can't handle dealing with her editor... She really should have just brought along Nagi...
Chapter 6: Hmmm.... The editor is a creeper... Nagi is rich AF and saw through him in a second... unfortunately she told him what he was doing wrong...
Chapter 7: Chi's self-esteem issues clarified a bit... Nagi gets bashful when Chi is drunk... and somebody seems to have recognized the rich girl?
Oh look! It's that pet shop keeper again!
Don't think so. He had totally different hair.
