"Shifty" is pretty much their defining family trait.

Incidentally looking at it there's an interesting methodological difference Dad himself lampshades; Yurika (and for that matter Akane) can "brute-force" their seduction by sheer charisma and looks even when their targets know they're being taken for a ride, but he can - and has to - employ sufficiently sophisticated technique to not raise alarms the same way. Technician Versus Performer sort of thing I guess plus he has to compensate with skilled acting for his age and default suspicions about his intentions too.

Maybe Kaoru went to the mountains for training, trying to seduce female bears

Watch out Yurika!

I don't think Kanae can really picture herself in a romantic context at all so Haruka really first needs to get her receiver tuned to the same station, so to speak. I get the impression the way the former keeps awkwardly shrugging off some fairly obvious signals is her way of coping with an concept she can't really process (on top of the usual uncertainties of interpretation ofc).

After all, outside her StuCo role she tends to be pretty quiet and withdrawn even with friends - I suspect the idea she might actually be the focus of someone's attention like that confuses her greatly.

On another note Michiru definitely got the hint and hastily committed a third wheel, exit stage left. :P

As far ask Mask and Kaoru go whatever else Bou-chan might feel in regards to her admirer I think the key phrase here was "something only I possess" in the context of her creative frustration. Fresh novel stimulus outside what you're used to is one of the better ways to get those gears turning again and Kaoru's certainly by far the furthest from her usual associates in terms of people she knows. Bonus points for the whole "school Casanova is head over heels for you whether you want it or not" being a storyboard basis all by itself I suppose...

Speaking of, isn't this Kaoru's first appearance in over a volume or so? The unnamed girl in the library may have shaken her out of her funk but she's apparently treating Mask's fuck-off verdict with due seriousness and keeping her distance. Probably been passing the time flirting with random pretty girls in the meantime.

I mean cats are the classic child surrogate for straight couples too.

Yurika only does her thing when required to because of the whatever circumstances of the chapter are, the dad did it here just to be an ass

I'm tolerably sure he was mainly curious to see how Yurika handled serious competition and how their ladykiller abilities compare. Once he had her measure he basically just walked off after all.

That's what I said yes.

Did you actually forget the original premise of the story also included Dad going dead broke and having to flee his creditors, which is why Yurika had to find her inner gigolette in the first place? Hell he literally died once as a result, and isn't implied to yet be fiscally back on his feet either.

The impression is he was essentially retired from the ladykiller thing before he had to take to the road due to circumstances; note how it was always referred to in the past tense for ex.

...did you actually forget what the original premise of this series is?

Yurika's basically a younger genderflip of her father, it was a major running gag from the start that her near-magical ability to get ALL the girls is genetic. (No word on if Daddy shares her effect on men but that'd be less of an issue for him.)

And yeah, echoing the above Dad simply has her beat in raw experience (plus he's shed the various self-imposed limitations whose remnants Yurika still clings to - such as shame). Near as I could tell his shenanigans here were overwhelmingly motivated by sheer curiosity about how their ladykiller abilities actually compare plus maybe a roundabout desire to remind his daughter she still has ways to go. Trickster Mentor kind of thing.

Also nice try Akane but no cigar lmao; A for effort tho.

Also nicknames are a thing. That one certainly sounds like such.

Torao doesn't seem to be particularly short tho, Ryuuzaki's just on the tall side (as befits a "prince" character type).

I think Kiri was just having a Stupid Sexy Tadokoro moment there.

I'm just starting to think the author is an actual pedophile herself but since she can't act on it in real life, these mangas are her way of expressing herself. shrug

Overall tho isn’t it a horrible situation that anyone outside the pair knows about their relationship?

...only Miyuki's been clued in for years already and has no interest whatsoever in spreading it around?

lmfao Kirigaya on page 3, I like how her hairpins start mimicking horns

Prez basically calls them out on their slice-of-life shenanigans and is then dissapoint when they don't properly follow BURNING YOUTH DRAMA tropes regarding the whole closure thing, she's got her priorities... uh, NOT straight.

Miyuki's blatantly having way too much fun with this situation. o3o
(TBF she was apparently getting bored to death with the actual event anyway.)

People pretty much ran out of genuinely original story bits already by the end of the Bronze Age tbh.

I like the StuCo pair already.

...actually, didn't they get a spin-off of their own or something? If so guess I'm not the only one.

God-Emperor Xi being into some good old Cultural Revolution Kool-Aid. Bit of tends to put a damper on things, that sort of stuff.

Huffing household chemicals is the traditional method of people wanting to get high for one reason or another (usually more or less sad) but too poor to afford proper drugs or even booze. Popular among street children and similar bottom-of-barrel wretches I understand.
