^From what I remember that character's gender is "unknown", but referred to as "she", and based on the I guess rumors of Hoover cross-dressing. They're also from the extremely absurd gag comic that plays into a lot of things as it tends to be very self aware.

Anyways the little I know about the character in this art with Nitocris, she's a spirit that lived in the city and then came to personify it. I would say it's a little bit of a similar concept to a Tutelary Deity.

Also I wouldn't even say it's anything new when a lot of the old gods/goddesses were basically centered around personifying the planets, Aphrodite is often across media depicted as an incredibly sexy woman, and she's a representation of Venus. Who the Romans in a more literal sense even called Venus. You also have Ishtar with Venus, so on and so fourth. I find it to be an interesting topic myself haha

I'm also thinking of picking up at least the LNs to show the series more support. (Edit: And the anime when it comes out on blu-ray, but I imagine that'll be a bit down the road.)

^Oh interesting, I imagine 5 is probably up on Amazon. I should say I specifically use Rightstuf, and they only have 4 up for pre-order from what I can see, and the 4th is slated for 4/18/2023. I've only heard people say that there's 6 current LN volumes, and it's what I see on Wikipedia as well, so it's interesting to hear that there's actually a 7th LN volume.

And I think at least one aspect in particular I wanted a little more on, I remember a scene along the lines of someone says Kasumi's hairpin is cute, and Kasumi just say something like "thanks". I remember distinctly wishing Kasumi said "Thanks, it was a gift from Shizuku", at least something like that. Since Kasumi is often so self absorbed, it would have been nice if Kasumi acknowledged the gift from Shizuku in that way. At least that's my opinion and what I would have liked from the scene.

^From what I know there's 3 LN volumes out in English, out of 6 current total volumes. The series is still ongoing, and the 4th English one is up for pre-order. I don't have first hand experience with the LN but I've heard people say the anime covers the first 3 volumes, and I know for a fact that the anime goes past the translated Mangadex release of the manga adaption. As for if they're a couple in the LN? Yes. Also I can tell you if they're a couple by the end of the anime adaption as well, Yes. I hope this helps.
