Wow, I'm loving this stuff by Sengoku Hiroko. The delicacy of her art in particular is just wonderful.

Regarding the "sensei" thing, that's just a convention when referring to artists like authors or mangaka. The black-haired girl is probably her editor, or else maybe a fan/helper who is close to her or something.

Haha. If I had to say it, glasses girls are actually my preference. Also, I just started wearing them myself about a year ago. If anything, I've had fun with the image change. As far as I'm concerned, glasses rock. The girls' "robot talk" is pretty cute and all, but I'd love to see a continuation of this where the main character girl becomes truly comfortable with wearing glasses.

Ahh, this was too awesome. Best Toki x Ryuuka doujin I've seen yet. I can kinda appreciate the drama other doujin authors try to put in sometimes but the best thing about Toki and Ryuuka is when they're just flirting (or to be more accurate: when Toki is doing lewd things, lol).

Hot damn, this series is amazing. I love the historical/political/religious details, the themes of characterization, depth/intrigue of the plot. The only thing is that the writing somehow seems to have a penchant for melodrama that I'm not all that sure yet meshes well with everything else.

edit: Welp, after reading the side story, I guess not lol. Though this series seems to be shipping Futo x Tojiko pretty hard.

In any case, I really love these historical works which dive into the backgrounds of various parts of the Touhou cast as they are incredible for helping me form a deeper image of the characters. I barely knew or thought anything of Futo or Tojiko before, but this series has done an incredible job of making me care. Can't wait to see the conclusion, in volume 4 and (apparently?) volume 5.

Awesome stuff.

lolwut. I just noticed, here, that pictures for the Saki pairing Yumi x Momoko (or more regularly, Yumi x Momo; or even more regularly, the Japanese equivalent KajuMomo (where Kajiki is Yumi's last name)) are being grouped under the Momoka x Yuri (from (Heartcatch) Precure) tag.

Nice, the plot in this one managed to be really engaging. Dat reveal about Toyosatomimi no Miko at the end... also damn, this artist draws really erotic older women, lol. I don't usually go for the mature 'MILF' types but Tohonifun's Byakuren, Seiga, Yukari, Ran etc. are all quite smokin'.

That is a fake anime chart. They're often created on /a/ for trolling purposes, by including many highly desired sequels or adaptations of series which are generally considered impossible.

Well, the indirect kiss thing was referring to Momokino's reaction to Harumin and Yuzu's 'feeding each other' scene, which does suggest a lack of experience on Momokino's part. From my perspective, it does make more sense to assume that Momokino's attempt in ch.5 was only an 'attempted rape' scene than that Mei actually let her go all the way with it.

Wait. I'm not getting the "Touched" sfx. What are they supposed to mean? Heavy heartbeats like "Thump Thump"? What're the original words?

Depending on the original sfx, it could also refer to touching/petting? Calling back to Yuuka's hug fetish for Moe. The "touched" as in emotionally touched is also plausible to me, though; and it wouldn't necessarily have to refer to both characters, rather just one of them.

Stumbled across this a couple months ago...it was really awesome, I fell totally in love with it. At the time I did a bit of digging around for other info about it and found, first of all, that there was a translation of a later update by Medley from 2ch in this shoujoai.com thread.

And also from a thread on /u/ that Medley actually keeps a real life twitter (with occasional mentions of Huskey) here.

Finally I also discovered an apparently pretty classic Vocaloid song which was inspired and dedicated to them, Sweetiex2, as well as a subsequent NicoNico dance meme.

Altogether this entire story and its legacy is just an incredible thing.

Oh GAWD! I love this series so much. Although, the third chapter made absolutely no sense...I loved it but...no sense was used. I can't even tell if they got together or if Yuuka was still in denial or not.

It makes a bit more sense in the context of chapter 2...Yuuka's 'attraction' is based on wanting to hug Moe like a stuffed animal, and the start of chapter 3 is also a continuation of when she started complaining about Moe's concept/feeling of love at the end of the last chapter.

Holy crap this AU was amazing. Such an funny, awesome, and engaging take on the Marimite universe. I'm pretty satisfied with the ending (although the pretend final volume 'preview' does look pretty awesome) except for the fact that Noriko and Shimako never really got to express their developing relationship :P. Intriguingly, however, that h-doujin previewed seems to cover just that...

And luckily enough, the raws appear to be available on a certain site (seems to be futanari though).

(Unfortunately, wow, it looks like hardly any of this artist's considerable other body of work is yuri. I'm gonna be satisfied with just this series and that Noriko x Shimako doujin though, they are one of my lifetime OTPs.)

Saki definitely got me into mahjong. It also got me into other great mahjong manga/anime, like Akagi and The Legend of Koizumi. However, Saki remains my absolute favourite mahjong series of all, and one of the things I have maintained from early on is that Saki is just as much worth examining from a technical mahjong perspective as more 'gritty' series (like Akagi), even though much of its play is based on superpowers. The interaction between each character's abilities, and especially the strategies various characters must develop and employ to fight against other players' abilities, definitely allows mahjong to bring a whole new level of depth and enjoyment to the Saki series, even if many people have started out simply enjoying it on a character or yuri/subtext level.

Regarding mahjong itself, much of the Saki community on /a/ regularly plays and hangs out at the Tenhou L7447 lobby. In the past there was a mahjong league, and even now they are hosting tournaments. After getting a bit familiar with the basics, I have found osamuko.com and justanotherjapanesemahjongblog (this one is a bit more advanced/technical) extremely good references for improving my mahjong play, and arcturus.su is a great reference for anybody needing help getting around the Tenhou service. Personally, I have been playing with the handle Ako555 in L7447 since about the end of December last year, and also recently started working my way up towards Dan in the ranked lobby (lobby L0), which has definitely been an engaging, sometimes thrilling, sometimes frustrating experience.

lol, Yes, I am still catching up on uploads from back in the middle of August. Do have to say that after reading chapter 3 and then rereading chapters 1 and 2 (and then chapter 3 again), I am blown away by this series. "Masterpiece" is pretty fair; I'm seriously excited about the potential of the writing and the unity/depth of characterization for the characters.

Although it was a bit much to try to get a handle on them all with just the first one or two chapters, the main cast really is so distinct. You definitely have to pay a lot of attention to pretty much every panel in order to keep up with all of the concurrent relationships and developments, but the writing has been very compact and deftly handled thus far. I also have to say that the variety of personalities and their differing levels of maturity strikes me with such a strong sense of realism it almost makes me think of Girl Friends, college edition.

Ruki, as the main character, is extremely naive. Not only failing to recognize her interest in Sacchan in the first place, chapter 3 was also very interesting in that as far as I can tell Ruki might have fabricated up a "such a nice atmosphere" from her own perspective. Ruki is very interested in Sacchi, but the Sacchi of the current moment seems like she has not the slightest reason to be interested in her.

I find Fue's sleepiness to be rather one-note. But I do figure that her lack of a sex drive probably stems more from not even being in love with Asuna than any actual problems with her body.

I'm presently holding back on moral judgements against Asuna and Meru. Asuna is cheating, Meru is aggressively appealing to Asuna's/indulging in her own base instincts, but if they would both eventually just calm down a little they would probably be good for each other. I think Asuna is or was simply unbelievably attracted to Fue since some time earlier, is used to being and presenting herself as a 'good' person, and got Fue to agree to go out with her based on that. However, she actually has a strong underlying sexual appetite which used to get fulfilled through fooling around with Meru, and through which Meru is fighting to get her back. The issue is that Asuna is so attracted to Fue that until and unless Fue actually outright rejects her, she probably won't be able to give their relationship up. However, Asuna is so preoccupied with maintaining their current relationship that she can't realize or the understand the root problem that Fue doesn't love her.

Remia is mature and experienced, promiscuous but possibly underneath it all a good person. On the one hand she disapproves of Asuna's infidelity, on the other she aggressively and underhandedly tries to chase down 'prey' like Ruki and Sachi. I am rather inclined to like her but sometimes it feels like she uses her obvious edge in experience/maturity over others (i.e. Ruki) for her own gain, not really to help them out.

Masa is pretty much straight up awesome, apparently both smart and naturally gifted (also athletic, but bad at singing) but also coming from a rich family. Her pragmatically careless (but high-achieving) approach to her schooling/college demonstrates a different kind of maturity from Remia. Masa's provided a lot of the greater moments in the manga so far, and her potential pairing with Fue sounds really interesting, but so far she's the primary character about whom I'm wondering whether can actually be roped into this sordid circus of sexuality surrounding the other characters.

Finally, Sachi seems like she's gained a lot in terms of opening up her world and just having friendly advice from her relationship with Remia. Her relationship with her boyfriend and basically way of living up to now have been littered with obvious problems, but Remia's advice and perspective presently seem much more useful than Ruki's could be in helping her get ahead. With regards to Ruki, I think on the one hand she might not appreciate Ruki's obviously critical attitude about her boyfriend, but on the other she might actually want to be friends and privately sensitive about Ruki's entry-exam incident due to Ruki's perceived negative feelings for her stemming from it. Overall I also have to admit that Sachi seems to possess a lot of conventional feminine beauty which makes me want to support an ending with Ruki.

Anyway, the main idea of this post, was to think back to this page from chapter 2, and try to match up the shoes with each character: http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/the_feelings_we_all_must_endure_ch02#3

From left to right, top to bottom, my guesses are: Ruki, Asuna, Meru, Remia, Masa, Sachi, and Fue. Meru and Remia were the toughest calls for me, with some possible overlap with Sachi's. Also I'm not confident in the basis for my guess for Masa's but it seems like the only pair which would fit.

So, just read Yuri Project's ch.5 release (on their home page). Kinda have to say that all the criticism of Mei (like calling her 'cold' and shit) is totally uncalled for. You know that the way Momokino came onto her partway through the chapter could pretty much be called rape/sexual assault, right. Same thing with Yuzu pushing her down at the end of chapter 4. Basically the reason Mei was frustrated/being standoffish with Yuzu was because she was tired of being looked at as primarily a sexual object (i.e. Yuzu was acting pretty much just like Momokino). It's pretty clear to me that Mei is open to being with Yuzu eventually, but not without overcoming her issues and establishing their emotional connection first.

As for why Mei is more open to Yuzu versus Momokino, part of it is the sincerity Yuzu has shown in trying to stand by her and be a good sister to her (settling the issue with the fiance/teacher and saving her grandfather, for example), and the other is that Mei realizes she is partly responsible for Yuzu's feelings thanks to her actions at the start of the series (kissing/assaulting Yuzu a couple times) herself. Momokino's clingy behaviour/sexual interest, by comparison, is purely self-interested.

Below is ch. 6 stuff since I went and read YuriProject's preview version after seeing the stuff in this thread:
About Mei's relationship with her father, maybe there was some significant reason for him taking off to random other countries 7 years ago, but I think Mei's issue is simply insecurity that he doesn't care about her since he's been away for so long. Because she's afraid to know what he thinks of her, she hasn't been reading his letters/otherwise trying to interact with him which would be the first step in improving their relationship in the first place.

Yuzu's impression that what Mei wants/needs is the emotional support of a family isn't quite wrong, but she's still jumping to the wrong conclusion that that means she and Mei can't be lovers. After all, in the end a genuine lover/partner is family too.

I really dig the pseudo-incest undertones in the series, lol. The kinky, sometimes nonsensically smutty progression of this series is great. I think that's the primary merit Yuzu's POV brings to the story, since other times she comes off as just way too insensitive and careless. Regardless, Mei and Yuzu have some seriously great chemistry, and that's what's keeping me reading and interested right now.
