I can relate to the MC and understand Alice’s frustration. It’s so annoying seeing someone beat themselves up and talk down on themself when they’ve got something you don’t.

But I also can relate to never feeling like what I’ve got it enough, even if others say so. Praise feels good in the moment, but it’s hard for it to stick with ya when confidence is needed

Yeah I can't really disagree there, only some of the characters in this are memorable for me. I think also this series runs into the common harem problem of the protag often being very passive. Which 100 Girlfriends I think gets praise because the MC of the series is one of the only harem protags that is date-able, and I think that's a question that needs to be asked more often "would I date the protag?". The protag of 100 going above and beyond to assist with the unique needs of each member of the harem is something I would have liked to see more in this manga. Also the harem members in 100 having tight bonds with other members of the harem is something that this series also needed more of.

While people had a variety of expectations with this particular manga, at the very least that series says right up front that the end goal is 100 girlfriends, as it's literally in the title lmao

I'm sure some people just don't have the patience for a "high maintenance" character like Miyagi, but for everyone else the web novel should be a much more seamless experience. The translation by Ave Lilium (i.e. the good one) recently completed volume 3, so if you grab the epub files now, you can read in maximum comfort up to the Winter of the couple's third year (where graduation is just 3 months away).
