I think it's been established already that Teru is the "think with your heart, not your head" sort of protag. Or to put it bluntly: She's kinda dumb. Though on the bright side, at least the villains won't recognize the bracelet if she's not wearing it, and the comic seems to run off magical girl identity logic, so having the exact same face won't tip anybody off.

I think she was just dumbstruck, not trying to elicit a reaction (consciously or subconsciously). Could be wrong, though.
That's not to say that their relationship is healthy. I'm not sure they actually can have a healthy relationship given their issues and circumstances.

That's my read on the scene. She didn't go into traffic, she just stopped where she was while trying to process her thoughts. (And happened to be standing at a really terrible spot at the time.)

Hopefully they can develop into a healthy relationship.

Chronic depression is terrible. That kind of reaction to spilling coffee is really extreme, but I can sympathize with feeling a moment of optimism only to have random chance ruin it immediately. Makes habits hard to break.

That was a nice chapter. No plot progression, but I do appreciate a glimpse at all* the characters' lives when there's not a supervillain to thwart right that moment. And definitely better than just having them be stronger in a rematch with a handwave of "off-screen training."

That seems like a distinctly non-romantic "date", so the yuri ships still sail.

Most of the "serial" cosplayers I knew have a huge inflated ego and love nothing more than being admired.

Of the dedicated cosplayers I've known (which is admittedly limited), a lot have been narcissists and attention whores. But not all of them, I know of at least one that was purely into it as a self-confidence boost, which helped her come out.

So the chapter's message isn't inaccurate, in my experience, just not a whole picture. It's an optimistic and uplifting manga, though, so I don't expect it to come out and say "There are assholes in every community."
