Yea i dunno im not a huge fan of the short-haired girl. I get they were going for the cute kinda possessive but her actively sabotaging her friends social life is too toxic for my taste.

That's the point. The seemingly "normal" best friend being the true landmine girl compared to the girl who dresses in flashy hyper fem outfits

We're so back!!!

I'm excited to see how this all shakes out, and how the feisty side couple ends up as, well, a couple lol

I love this series. Sorawo having a big gay moment over Toriko sucking the blood off her translucent hand is so good. As is her "Awkward" shirt that turns the w into an awkward emoji face.
(Also like the horror is well done and presented even better than I'd imagined based on the novel)

I noticed that the way sorawo reacts to toriko's hand bleeding is very reminiscent of sorawo's reaction to a certain scene at the end of volume 8

honestly I kinda feel like this premise might have too much going on lol. A "relatable self insert with no social skills" bumbling her way into a friend group with a vampire, exorcist, and vampire lover(?) seems kinda overly complex. I'm not sure where she'll fit in comparatively.

Based on the name change I'm wondering if she actually got in under another girl's application, due to her own application being rejected or some other circumstance for the nun to try and do something underhanded.

Thus, maybe the villainess label is from another girl's answers

This has a very similar premise to A Monster Wants to Eat Me, so doesn't it feel a bit played out to debate if this is yuri or not? Both of these series employ a story mechanic that we could call "cannibalism edging". Even without the cannibalism, a relationship where a girl hangs around another girl who intends to kill her has a pretty clear eroticism to it.

Yeah there's no question about the queerness/yuri in this story (even setting aside the fact that it's tagged as yuri on bookwalker). I can only imagine that some people are perhaps new to the genre and don't have experience reading anything outside of the "school girls looking at the camera and telling us they're lesbians before kissing" genre.

Horror has always been a very queer genre, I mean famous works like dracula and carmilla both come to mind as being some of the original works that we could categorize as "modern" queer literature. The intimacy of stuff like cannibalism or taking on someone else's body and identity is all very well established in the realm of queer and sapphic horror.

They're both bringing out the worst in each other right now, it's really incredible. I wonder how far things will fall before they start to (hopefully) become better to/for each other.

This one shot went in a very different direction compared to the comedic beats of wanna sip/i love you. Nmi is definitely a new mangaka to look out for, they've got a great sense for story composition and pacing and have shown with this one shot that they can handle different emotional beats with ease.

Not very often we get to see an honest look at coming of age sexuality and awkwardness in a tasteful way like this.

The sex was a bit more mundane than the novels (which I think was mostly expected given how crazy the novel scene was) but they got the dynamic down really well.

I'm surprised that this series isn't more popular on dynasty, because it's one of the best "regression" type stories I've ever read. These past few chapters highlight a clash of personalities which have shown time and time again, why they broke up in Youyan's past life.

By far the biggest reason they separated was because even though they both loved each other they simply couldn't see eye to eye on several critical topics like publicity of their relationship, and their general outlooks on their careers as well. So when Youyan regresses to this time she has the foresight to know that she wants to get back together with Jing Xiu, and she knows she needs to take a different path herself to do that.

The critical thing here though, and what separates her from so many other protagonists, is that despite having this knowledge she still makes some of the same mistakes because fundamentally she's still the same person with the same flaws and personality. So many stories like this would make her do a 180 in her personality and beliefs, so I really love how this series doesn't do that.

It's a common fantasy to imagine "if only I could do this all over again, I'd be better this time and learn from my mistakes". But realistically even in a situation like that, it's really difficult to change our own tendencies and behavior. If you know the exact circumstances and have thought about it over and over you can probably do something different in the moment, but to make long term changes to your own life it requires a lot of reflection and self awareness that can be really difficult, especially in the moment when emotions are running high and we're more likely to slip back into our old ways of thinking.

I actually find this story refreshing in a lot of ways. I'm so used to seeing "prince" type characters who feel burdened by their persona or create a faux masculinity out of social obligation that it's really nice to see a "prince" character who genuinely feels comfortable and happy with her own masculinity. She actually feels butch, even if it's a butch identity filtered through the prince archetype lol.

I also really liked how they dealt with the whole rival/touchiness situation. The typical manga solution to this is usually framed as though it's Haruka's fault for not being assertive enough and the solution is she acts more assertive, but here not only does Rena deal with the issue herself, but Haruka's percieved passiveness is actually because she respects Rena's boundaries. Both of these little twists serve to give Rena a lot more agency that I've come to expect from this type of shoujo love triangle maiden role, and in framing the "solution" to the issue to be that Haruka should just ask before touching her, it resolves the jealousy and insecurity that Haruka was feeling while also reiterating Rena's agency. Her feelings of "I don't always wanna be touched by people" is maintained as a legitimate boundary she set up, which is exceedingly rare for romance manga to this day.

I could write more but I'm curious what other people thought. I think the story has more depth than some are giving it credit for.

Sorawo and Toriko are operating on such different assumptions it's hilarious.

"oh im sure toriko (who is mad at me because I didn't tell her about the problems I am having) doesn't like people coming over to her house, let me assuage her anxiety by not accepting her offer and pulling away from her :)"

Curious why the human protag is supposed to be executed, since she appears to have simply been born in the prison. Wondering how she'll get to know the android sex bot.

I missed the prologue chapter so this is my first time seeing this series, but I gotta say the premise seems really interesting, I'll definitely be keeping up with this.

It's an absolute travesty that the series didn't get out to the right audiences, and I really do believe that it's a problem with the magazine that serialized it.

However, we still have the luxury to continue supporting the author on pixiv and even seeing the story continue, which is not something many cancelled works get, so for that I am profoundly thankful.

Kirara has really changed drastically in the past few years. I can't believe Shion basically just said she mastrubates to Hinata and then moved on
