I don't have in-depth knowledge of Buddhism, but I've got some, and I can recognize a fair bit of symbolism because I visit art museums.

Tokyo has the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Museum_of_Western_Art

"Paintings; 18th century and earlier
The Main Building displays pre-18th-century paintings, including those by Veronese,[7] Rubens,[8] Brueghel, and Fragonard.[9] Many of these paintings are religious paintings featuring imagery from Christianity."

What are the odds that a skilled Japanese artist has been to an art museum, or read art books, and gotten some exposure to Western art motifs?

I wasn't expecting Yuni to just do that..but then again, since when has she stood up for stuff? smh

I was surprised Yuni had the spine to slap the intruder, but then didn't expect her to just turn and walk.

Guess we've really settled the "is she actually a vampire" question for good.

Also, I just noticed that the vamp seems to have pointed ears, too.

Usually don't get affected.

I learned recently that tuberculosis started as a soil bacteria. Its ability to resist and take over predatory amoebae turned out to carry over to our macrophages. Oops!

As for real alien biology, I would give higher odds to the equivalent of bacteria and protists (seek out food in the environment and break it down) crossing over than to viruses (hijacking reproductive machinery).

But if there's some reason to converge on the same DNA and amino acids, or if panspermia seeded the same cellular biology everywhere, that would increase viral odds.

Peak romance was the silent special chapter following them through their day

The cover looks more like "possible rape attempt" than like romance.

The series is uncomfortable. MC is a punching bag at school and in a likely toxic (but yuri) relationship at home.

Something can be pure yuri and still very uncomfortable. (Detached Relationship. Various "no, she does end up dead" yuri.)

I took it as him testing her, to see if she's holding out on him. Can't really tell yes.

got it. thank you for the warning, sir. I'll put it in the "not yuri" list and just forget it. also glad someone pointed out the cover image. it's clearly a man pushing her down and she's blushing.

  • author calls it yuri
  • author shows yuri relationship and sexual activity
  • you call it not yuri

???

Ch 1: "I'm not gay"

Ch 6: "Bewbs"

My guess - despite "delivery health" being a euphemism, this client is literally here for physiotherapy and massage treatment before or after giving birth. I.E. the "legitimate" side of the business.

Not for $500.

~$500 for a trial run, nice.
I guess it might be a longer session.

If I was her In resigning immediately and moving to the opposite side of the country with my gf

Gf works there too. Probably doesn't want to move.

So uh no more TLs?

Apparently not from Knight Heron. The official translation is out there, and completed.

I know the Trope, but I'm not sure I've ever actually seen 'doink' anywhere outside of Tropes.

There actually is a new chapter; I read it the other day on Chaosteam's Facebook page. I don't know why they haven't pushed it to Dynasty or Mdex.

The Sun isn't sucking up anything, but intense sunlight and solar wind vs low gravity blast most stuff away. Still, there is a very thin atmosphere, ironically in part from that same solar wind:

Mercury is too small and hot for its gravity to retain any significant atmosphere over long periods of time; it does have a tenuous surface-bounded exosphere[89] at a surface pressure of less than approximately 0.5 nPa (0.005 picobars).[4] It includes hydrogen, helium, oxygen, sodium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, silicon, and hydroxide, among others

Helium from solar wind, some other elements blasted from the surface or vaporized by impacts.

Yeah, I read this as Allie being set up (by the author certainly; by Lapis, less likely) as a new interest for Diana.

Is "zine" becoming more and more commonplace? I feel like I've been seeing it everywhere now after seeing it for the first time a few chapters ago in this manga.

I dunno. 'Zine' started in 1940 but I would expect the Internet to have made them a lot less common. OTOH there's this and maybe Japan's doujin culture means there's still more paper zine production.

Or maybe just frequency illusion "a cognitive bias in which a person notices a specific concept, word, or product more frequently after recently becoming aware of it."

i wonder, is this a thing for non-translated manga centered around pairs of teenaged female friends? where the relationship between the two is clearly ambiguous but the author is happily stringing their readers along, never wanting to fully commit to what the core audience is hoping for?

What do you mean by non-translated? It's translated, we've been reading the translation.

Some series never get out of subtext. Some series are slow burn into full yuri.

I think Kaede is the 2nd personality of Ai created as a result of trauma. The blue garnet occasionally turning red is a good metaphor.

... We've seen Kaede. And her husband.

Final chapter has gone up on mdex.

Good story. I forgot it wasn't an official chapter!

have her hair or skin absorb the sun’s energy

Then she doesn't look human. Also there probably isn't enough area to power much movement. There's a reason plants don't move.

I was thinking of a hamster wheel lol.

Then you have to power the hamster inside.

theyd have the technology for those things to work on bigger stuff?

No, your idea makes no sense. You're proposing that she's powered by her own movement. That's a perpetual motion machine.

The electric bill must be pretty high

Humans are basically 100 Watt lightbulbs (2000 Calories/day = 96 Watt) and a lot of our food energy is lost as heat because metabolism isn't efficient (though we also use the heat to keep our chemistry going at good clip.) It's hard to predict the power use of an android (maybe heavier limbs? but no resting metabolism, and more efficient electric motors, but maybe less efficient 'brain'), but it could plausibly be around 100 Watts of electricity, which at 30 cents per kilowatt-hour is under $1/day.

Well, I went and read it on Facebook, and I think "meh". Didn't really care about anything that happened in the chapter.

WHY isn’t it solar powered?? Or energy powered (like movement and stuff) or sleeping recharges it?

Because physics.

Solar power isn't that good at powering something that moves, especially if the something is human shaped. Where would you put the panels?

"energy powered" makes no sense.

"movement and stuff" -- so the battery powers the movement and is recharged by the movement? Perpetual motion machine? Makes no sense. Perhaps you're thinking of movement powered watches? But those are tiny, being powered by the human wearer who is external to the watch.

"sleeping recharges it" -- again, where is the energy coming from? Sleeping by itself can't recharge her, though sleeping (for a mental defrag period, or whatever sleep does for human brains) would be a good time to also plug in to charge her battery.
