I'm going to have to reread this chapter again, first impressions:

Shimamura started off in extra-super-duper Shimamura mode, to the point that I was starting to think the author was going to pull some kinda BS "oops Adachi you pressed the mute button before you started your rant" nonsense. She seems very determined to just not acknowledge anything and keep going back to friendship mode. But then she starts slipping. She literally has to go fan herself off when Adachi's getting naked (lol), and then she gets more and more affectionate as the evening goes on. And then by the end of the night she apologizes and they're standing outside holding hands and it feels like Shima's maybe coming to terms with what's going on between them. I definitely got the impression that Shimamura's been quietly freaking out ever since the phone call and trying to act like she's not.

I was keeping these same thoughts in the back of my mind and I really hope that's the case, well put.

Yeah Adachi, of course you have no desire to see Shimamura naked, no you're not "like that". I think the moment where she catches herself constantly taking glances of Shimamura's butt is so far my favorite moment of this LN, it would have been amazing if this was the moment she said "Yup, I'm gay." to herself. Getting away from that great moment, I find it weird, like really weird, that Shimamura would act like that whole phone call thing never really happened. As much I love Adachi pov chapters, I wish we got to know what was going through Shima's head after the call. I have so many questions on this topic concerning Shima. I hope they get answered and not just ignored by the author going forward. Thank you Sneikkimies for this wonderful treat, as always great translations.

This took a while for me to get to reading but wow what a phone call. I really really hope Shima's "What a pain." statement means that she is now on her way to Adachi's house to comfort her and mend her broken heart. Also, could we not all assume Adachi is a crazy yandere? She is a teenager dealing with her first love who is the same sex (two girls can't love each other, impossible! Joking aside with the yuri trope, it's not a normal thing in Japanese culture).

To me it doesn't seem like Risako loves Kaoru, at least not yet, but rather she just sees her as a close friend that she didn't want to see get hurt over an indecisive and lazy guy look Reiichi. She could also be proving a point. Reiichi might've done (and is currently doing the same thing) to Kaoru. He doesn't love her but he has no reason to reject Kaoru and that's why they're married. Maybe Risako was trying to prove a point to Kaoru about how Reiichi really feels for her and protecting her. Kaoru's last line about lying about being in love could be applied to Reiichi's relationship with her.

I would agree with you but the fact that she is still cheating with Reiichi after their marriage is only hurting Kaoro physically (broken leg) and mentally. Risako is supposed to be smart and logical but there is little logic in how she's going about this "protecting".

Yeah, i feel ya. At this point I really want to drop the series, it's really become a shit show and the yuri is all but gone now (even if they go with Risato being in love with Kaoru, it's an unnecessary yuri trope no one really likes).
