I was going to check out Lonely Yuri a while back, but I head that it was kinda bittersweet so I avoided it.

It's pretty melancholic, but I don't think I'd call it bittersweet. All the bad stuff is brushed over pretty quickly, and the ending is definitely a good one. Though if you're one to avoid the Drama or Aaaangst tags, it might not be for you..?

Yeah, that ending was just a kick in the face. I hated it so much I raged and emailed the developer! He/she replied with an apology and agreed that they were re-doing the game in their spare time and burning that ending.

Thankfully the sequel was fantastic and the yuri was nice too. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

It was definitely the first time I ever said something like, "I will never support this studio again!" But after chatting with the author, I decided against that after all. Haven't played the sequel yet though.

Anyone have any good yuri VN's they can recommend to me, would be appreciated? <- With translations, I don't read Japanese well.

Loren the Amazon Princess has already been mentioned. Worth it if you don't mind RPG stuff.

Nami has done a couple really short - and really cute - VNs.

Anaheim Girl's Love Story got a translation, but it's not in the usual way, and I haven't played it.

If you haven't played it, Lonely Yuri is short, sweet, and a little erotic. Minakata Sunao did the art for it.

But for the love of God, do not play the first game in the Rising Angels series, you'll want to kill yourself after the end.

Possibly the hardest I've ever taken an ending. It was so bad a little crybaby like me couldn't even cry. I just spent the rest of the day in a daze, repeating "It's not worth it, it's not worth it" until eventually I went to sleep and forgot all about it.

All I play right now is Saki. And sometimes sports games, because after years of being forced to be my brother's playmate, I found they weren't so bad after all.

^ It would also be nice if everyone could upload to the image gallery

The eventual idea is to allow everyone to upload in a limited capacity.
Users (or whoever) will upload images to the board that will go to a moderator-only section(?), and uploaders will review images (filtering out stuff we don't want, fixing tags and sources, etc.) before officially adding them to the site. "Eventual" is the key word though, not 100% sure how it will actually work in action.

I keep holding on to the hope that one day there'll be a nostalgic resurgence of affection for early Clamp manga and we'll finally get some really good Cardcaptor Sakura doujins.

Well, the 20th anniversary is coming up, so...maybe that's something?

Also, OGRES ARE LIKE ONIONS!

Yes, yes they are.

Is this, like, an April Fools prank?

No, this is an April Fools prank. As is this. This year I think Troid just did a spoof Stretch chapter (page?) that was sadly removed.

The greater point is, it is hopefully readily apparent that the site is run by idiots. There are plenty of joke tags to back that up. Such as:

Lizard

M. Night

I dunno

JPG Artifacts

Why is this a tag

At least we have communism

Edit: By the way, had to reject your YH Wildrose suggestions because each issue not marked Completed has one untranslated story. Sorry about that, and thanks.

The lake is full of fishes today, so i brought with me my best bait, wonder how many i'll catch today

Bait implies it's being put out to lure in the fishes. The fishes are already here. This is just good ol' fashioned pandering, no?

Ran is sssoooo fucking gay.

say OP, which chapter is that image from?

Chapter 26!

Her being a lesbian as nothing to do with her being an asshole. You can be a bad person and be straight. I'd say my definition of "treating a character horribly" is more like... A good person and they get all the bad stuff happening to them.

Fair enough.

Locodol was the best. Yukari is really gay in the best possible way, all the girls are cute, and somehow it all came together very naturally.

Yukari is madly in love with Nanako, but I had the nagging feeling that the author will never break us out of the prison known as subtext every time they had one of their little moments together and it kind of detracted from my enjoyment of the show :[

Haha, Yukari's crush was so adorable. The only thing they could've done to make it more blatant was have others comment on it (like Sharo in GochiUsa). Locodol was a really, really surprising show. It seemed so much more genuine than most of its ilk, and even when the comedy didn't click with me, I still enjoyed every episode just for the characters.

Sabagebu! was also a surprise - though for entirely different reasons! Gayest, and funniest show of the year, I think.

It's a real shame neither of them sold worth anything...

And I hear Glasslip has a lesbian, but I also hear it treats her horribly

Deserved, that girl is the devil I swear.

Some girl is a lesbian. She's also the devil. That's pretty much the definition of "treating a character horribly," no?

I would think making browsing particularly easy is the whole point to having tags.

I would argue that accurately tagging something in the Original: Doujin section would kill the notion that they're somehow hidden on the site. I understand that general browsing won't lead someone uninterested in derivative works to that part of the site, but I fail to see how other tags and categorizations wouldn't capture all of them regardless. I'm still not seeing how that categorization is wholly different than the one-shots only categorized by their magazine issue.

Perhaps some talk behind the scenes about how to organize things better?

If you have any comprehensive suggestions, we're always willing to listen. Unfortunately we've had discussions about this very topic and the majority pretty much always lean toward accuracy rather than relevance.

This seems to be a bit of an issue in general on the site, tags aren't really implemented with an eye towards their main uses: 1) having some warning of what's inside (i.e. rape, futanari, lolicon) so you can decide whether to read it or not

I would argue that fervently. If anything, I've seen more comments complaining that an objectionable element was over-tagged for the sake of warning others' than said element not being tagged at all. Of course we miss things from time-to-time, but we do our best to warn people about that stuff, especially considering the blacklist function.

and 2) being able to find stuff a month or a year down the road (i.e. I want to find stuff with marriage, so I go to the marriage tag).

That may be the case - though we've already been over the marriage tag - but that is why we accept tag suggestions. Perhaps you'd rather there be more tags in general? That's kind of the feeling I'm getting....

http://www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=218585 <- first 6-minute OVA produced in 2010, not that good, included for completeness
http://www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=294057 <- regular length OVA from 2012, brilliant, a 10/10 masterpiece.

Although the series has 'yuri' in its name, the titular Naoko-san is played off as a general pervert moreso than a lesbian, IMO. It's not particularly satisfying if you're looking for romance. On the other hand, this series really deserves it's comedy tag, so I'd definitely encourage more people to watch it (and of course, will be looking forward to any further scanlations too).

x2, 10/10.
Here I didn't think any other yuri fan actually enjoyed it. Naoko-san is certainly played off as a pervert, but outside of her dirty jokes about bro-kun, doesn't she pretty much spend the whole time talking about little girls? It certainly doesn't try to squeeze in any romance, but I still found it satisfying. As did my very uncomfortable brother and best guy friend.

Gonna change status to Cancelled, as I think that's more accurate than what it is now.

It's come to my attention that there are a lot of collections marked Ongoing when they should be Completed, On Hiatus, Dropped, or Cancelled.
Of course, it's not like it's a pressing matter, and I'm sure you have many other responsibilities.

And there are some others that have no marking at all!
We did talk about going series-by-series and weeding out the inaccurate monikers, but that hasn't happened yet. If you notice any in particular, please do make a tag suggestion and I'll look into it (to suggest a status tag, just type the name [i.e. "Ongoing", "On Hiatus"] and the correct option will pop up).

Could someone in charge of tags at least give some idea of what you're trying to accomplish here?

Well, the tag was there long before I was around, so I can't say exactly what the original motivation was, beyond - most likely - trying to be correct and accurate in a historical sense.
At this point, we're simply trying to maintain that accuracy. It's similar to how we categorize everything by magazine issue - certainly it doesn't matter who published what in where, nor does it make browsing particularly easy, it's just nice to have.

Maybe a definition of what the tag is for?

I'll add a definition for it sometime.

Well, they might have drawn it. But nobody bought it or translated it that we know of.

No, it appears Makoto moved on from the concept in favor of polishing some old doujins and eventually creating the "Three Fairies" series. If he ever released a second part, he very pointedly kept it from ever seeing the Internet (as it can't be found on any of his official pages). Gonna change status to Cancelled, as I think that's more accurate than what it is now.

Yeah, can't say I really care for anything Kasumi has put out in a while. I vaguely recall liking some of his KyoSaya and Precure NSFW stuff, but the Love Lives just seem to go by too quickly, like I'm reading a preview of a much longer work. And it all feels very hollow for it. Maybe I'm just getting pickier...

This should have the Honoka x Dolphin tag... :P

That was a tad disturbing...

Oops (could've sworn I posted something about this already...).

Unfortunately, when a chapter is made part of a series, the original discussion no longer applies (since all series' discussion is one topic, and each anthology chapter gets its own). In this case, the original topic points to My Admired Beloved, but My Admired Beloved, now part of the My Beloved series, points to the My Beloved discussion [which doesn't exist yet]. As far as I recall, there is no easy fix for this.
However...Since it is presently just the one chapter, that may not be the case. I'll go ahead and message omnscient0 about it, and I'll let you know if we come up with anything.

For now, I've manually screwed with things a bit to keep the topic and chapter pointing to each other. If we can't fix it, then we can decide how to handle that chapter afterwards. Hopefully I was okay in doing that.

Lastly, if you need any help getting familiarized with anything, the Moderator tab has topics on some stuff, or you can always ping me or drpepperfan on IRC.

This link was posted in the comments for Cuddle Me More: http://gleichan.blog138.fc2.com/blog-entry-47.html

Upshot is that Blue Muffin is upset that people are scanning their stuff and posting online, so I believe it falls to the mods to take those releases down per the author's wishes.

Not making any commentary on whether their reasoning is right or not, their wishes are the important part.

What a thing to wake up to. Thanks, removed and all that.
