Mainstream Yuri: (Lighthearted) romance between high school girls. Often a bit of (fake) drama, a bit of comedy. Tends to be unremarkable yet will inexplicably earn lots of positive comments ("So cute!"). The most famous ones are Girl Friends and Citrus with the former being infinitely better.

Question- what is mainstream yuri?

By "mainstream yuri", I just meant that it was published in a major magazine.
In various discussions on the forums, people have expressed a desire to see more yuri in mainstream publications (i.e. not Yuri Hime). I was just noting that this is one such title, for those who pay attention to that sort of thing.

The text in the previous images are names, the text in this just a release announcement. As usual, we don't upload anything that requires a working knowledge of Japanese to appreciate.

One of my favorite ongoing series is finally here (Thanks Kawaii!)! The side couple chapters are the best.

For anyone curious, this runs in Comic Alive, home of Miss Sunflower, Non Non Biyori, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, etc. In other words, this is the "mainstream yuri" everybody here likes talking about.

I feel you've just solved the biggest mystery of my life.

How this series never continued is a mystery to me. A very upsetting one, at that.

The greater crime would've been not uploading it because it was cancelled. Or something like that.

Very late edit: These three chapters ran in the first three volumes of Change H. The series was not continued in succeeding volumes of Change H or (apparently) anywhere else. I don't honestly know if Cancelled is the most accurate description for these circumstances, but that's the tag we'll use for it.

Binbou calls the fifth installment (uploaded 2nd of October 2014) as "chapter 4 part 2" and not "chapter 5" on their page. Maybe the numbering should be fixed here to reflect that?

It's not great. To its credit, I would say that the action sequences are very good and sometimes the cute/funny scenes are cute and funny. Sometimes.

The first volume is very easy to get through, though, so it could be worth a shot. The fandom seems to take what they want from canon and fill the rest with fanon, often in the form of expansive AUs like this one.
