Why do they have the same noses as the Whos of Whoville?

It's in some way a stylistic device to tame chaotic women I guess, at least I never heard that this love rule counts for male witches as well. I know it mostly from older witch movies where becoming the housewife is the end goal - and leaving magic behind some kind of growing-up process.

Hm...the context here is different, but I still don't like it. Thought- or Feelcrimes are dumb.

I interpreted it as a spiteful dig at knowledgeable/authoritative/independent women ie the kind of women that are usually portrayed as witches.

So that happened I guess. The whole "love negates magic" still seems pretty dumb.

This series suffers from a serious case of same face and it makes it really hard to follow it as an anthology of couples.

This is a bland psychosexual thriller trying to pass itself off as romance.

So this exists I guess.

My hope is that Jun isn't going to be an ass and is just looking to get an impression of the person his oldest friend is dating.

Instead, it was a draw.

Erm, no it wasn't. Dude got completely wrecked.

He got exactly what he wanted with no real downside.

He wanted a bottomless bank account with boobs attached. What he got was a one-off pity payment, the shame of being owned by an introvert and the fear of someone ruining his life if he even tries asking for more again. That is the total opposite of getting exactly what he wanted with no real downside.

Literally none of that is a meaningful detriment to him in any way. He got 10k and all it cost him was some insults and vague threats with dubious teeth.

I kinda agree, I absolutely don't ship Hana & Miyako, I usually don't have any issues with onee-loli, but this pair just don't click

My issue is how much of a creep Miyako is about it. The decision to lean in to her being a gross pedophile leering at a child who is blatantly uncomfortable strips away the suspension of disbelief I usually can maintain with this kind of age gap.

Suspensions of disbelief for what?

For a preteen being romantically involved with someone 5+ years older than them not being wildly inappropriate and predatory.

You expect a serious and responsible romance in comedy manga about collage student lusting over preteen, where entire premise is based on the fact she's creepy af and preteen is grossed out by her behavior? I mean, in the very first few chapters Miyako buys Hana by offering her sweets, while manga acknowledges that's exactly the thing kids are supposed to avoid. If you still reading it after it with hopes for something wholesome, then I'd reconsider your approach to consuming media and what kind of expectations you have from it.

Literally my entire point is that the main premise sucks and it's other aspects of the manga that actually make it worth reading. At no point did I express any expectation or hope that it was going to get better outside of those elements that I'm actually reading it for so I'm not sure where you're getting that assumption from.

She can go on about love all she likes but as long as she continues to do whatever she pleases to her regardless of her express wishes I'm not really buying it. Love is respect not trampling the other person's boundaries because what you want is the only thing you care about.

The worst part of this manga is Hana and Miyako interacting.

I demand character development for Kaoru so I can enjoy this pairing and not be constantly on edge waiting for her to be her usual selfish fuck-up self.

I don't care about any of this tedious bullshit. I don't care about these new characters the author decided to just randomly shift the focus too. I don't care about this girl who is too selfish to stop jerking her friend around. I don't care about her friend who is too stupid to establish and defend her boundaries. This is boring.

Haruka: "Kanae Chan is the most striking one here." Bitch you're sitting next to SHIZUKA. Like, wow, love really does just make people blind huh?

I don't think she was talking about appearance alone, she talked about her voice and persona.

Yeah but Shizuka is Shizuka, I agree.

Well, I in particular think Nononon is the best in that room. lol But, Haruka only got her eyes on one girl.

Finally a person of culture.

Why is there so many manga where relationships are based on lies. And they continue to keep on the lie

It's a cheap source of dramatic tension that doesn't require much creativity or effort. The longer they maintain the lie the longer they can go without having to think up new sources of conflict in the story.

On an another note i'm curious about Naru. Kanda said dude while talking about Naru and ask it to go out because she gonna change so i'm wondering if Naru is actually a crossdresser but then again i found that strange for a girl to share an appartement with a boy who isn't from her family.

Yeah I'm confused about this part too. Is "dude" intended to be gendered address or only to denote Kanda's masculine speech patterns?

Ugh. The incredibly obvious bait and switch makes this insufferable crutch of a misunderstanding even more annoying. God forbid two characters in a romance manga just fucking communicate like sane human beings.

Oh damn, Haruka/Kanae making up for the fact that they weren't introduced as a couple until recently. That's some pretty serious and fast development. But, will she take the note as meaning platonic or romantic love? There's still plenty of room for misunderstanding! That was some damn fine flirting the were doing before the meeting.

I doubt Haruka would let her misunderstand it.

With names like Alice Keating and Miriam I think the mangaka must have Googled "List of Extremely White Names for Girls", I'm mostly joking if course, this manga has sorta piqued my interest, I'll keep reading. Anyone else find the use of "sama" and "sensei" odd, I feel like those should have been translated.

It is odd retaining Japanese honorifics in a work set outside Japan.
