Lmao I thought it would be something stupid and generic like that. That's why I didn't seek out to read it. Basically what I was suspecting a long time ago. They didn't actually know what they were doing, the story came out good because probably one of them (potentially the artist) was writing Seju from a personal experience, that's why she was a good character. But then they don't actually know how to develop a good pairing.

You know I had a feeling that’s it’s a personal matter between the artist and Seju LOL
Because with anything Seju does she will be treated like a bitch, but when Sumin does it then she is forgiven, or not blamed from the start, they will just came with an excuse for Sumin’s actions

The artist had said their favorite character is Seju though. I think she was projecting a tough break up/rejection she had through Seju.
She was also a sympathetic and relatable character, so if the artist was projecting someone she hated on her, then Seju would be a pure antagonist.

The writer on the other hand seems more like the Sumin type.

You're not really missing out much tbh from the last side-story.

Basically, during a reunion party with her highschool classmates, Sumin found out her best friend Sunhwa had passed away. Thinking she might suddenly have an accident or illness one day, she decided to have her will written up, so Sungji won't be left with nothing. So, she met up with her ex Sangmi, who happens to be a lawyer. Drama ensured, as Sungji got pretty anxious about Sumin spending a lot of time away from home without telling her what she's up to. Then finally, the misunderstanding was cleared up. Sumin and Sungji watched the first snow together, looking all happy and smiles. The last panels has Seju watching it as well on her own, talking happily on the phone with Won. The End

If anything, I feel like erasing the memories of having read this terrible excuse of a last story.

Sigh, who thought the story in gonna end up this way! I mean, everything went so damn wrong after chapter 50, the story was promising!
So boring, lost its potential, and it was full with double standard, I was disappointed

It would be one of the best yuris or even romance in general if Seju and Sumin ended up together. But it was obvious that wasn't their purpose right from the start.

. "You got lucky, I'm the real talent" is her previous attitude, "That was what I believed" is her acknowledging Maekawa as the real deal, and from that moment, she changes her behavior.

She doesn't change her behavior. She's still a bitter ass to Maekawa though. She only calms down after Maekawa goes on her knees to basically beg her. They also need to work together for her manga's shake, so she would literally have to be a lunatic to not tone down that aggressive attitude.

I didn't say her ego wasn't ever hurt, or that she wasn't bitter about her loss. She clearly was envious. The point I am making is that this scene explicitly shows her growing -past- that and coming to respect Maekawa. It's literally the entire point of the scene.

She must have been literally crazy if she didn't acknowledge she wasn't the best AFTER losing. Would she get off her stick had she not lost? With that egotistical attitude I don't think so. Also she's clearly still bitter over her loss, that's why she treats Maekawa like that in the beginning. The anxiety of a deadline is just an excuse to me, and even if that also contributes, that's not an excuse. Not everyone would treat someone like that because they were stressed about something. The root is their character, not the stressful situation.

I still see the elements of her being envious (that's why she's so aggressive to Maekawa) and that's why I dislike her. I don't dislike her because "I didn't read the part of her acknowledging her loss" right.
I also dislike her because I don't like the super aggressive attitude towards Maekawa, for whatever the reason might be.

Now there's basically no GL, but the BLs increase more and more.

There is Soul Drifters for what it worth. But yeah,BL has always been more popular than GL.

But you gotta pay for that, right? Also it's Ratana Satis and I was never a fan of her stories and characters.
Anyway yeah, BL was always more popular but lately the GL genre is regressing. Something I didn't expect to happen back in 2016, since it was picking up back then.

Was thinking of tweeting this to the author herself, but most likely she will ignore it. She seems pretty defensive about any criticism towards her favorite character. Me suspect Sumin is the author's incarnate and her fantasy of having the perfect girlfriend who overlooked her personality flaws and will love her no matter what.

Lmaooo imagine though. I can't really wrap my head around how they don't/can't see that Sumin is a boring and even annoying character.

Anyway, since I don't read this anymore, can someone say under spoilers what happened after Seju's story with Dawoon ended?
From what I get it was a continuation of Sumin and Sungji again, and just Sumin's friend dies
So basically an excuse to prolong the story even more?

Agh, that's actually sad. I remember when wdtfs was very popular and good, even as a GL genre on Lezhin, competing against het romance and the other popular genres.
Now there's basically no GL, but the BLs increase more and more.

^lmao I was going to say this gives me the same feeling as Murcielago. It makes me depressed af and kinda disgusted. (same reason why I don't read Murcielago too)

I like angsty themes, but this is beyond the line of my liking. I think the story and pacing is pretty neat tbh, this is why I'd keep reading, but it leaves me feeling shitty afterwards. Because the characters are awful.
The fact that Iris just wants to eat the mc and the mc had not problem with that is just yikes. There's something sinister about Iris that makes her pretty unlikable to me and the yuri undertones just can't save it.

Webtoons is doing a partnership with Crunchyroll to adapt comics into anime. I hope they adapt MADQ knowing it's one of the most popular comics on Webtoons. It would make such a great and funny anime.

OMG that's awesome news!! I didn't know this was happening. Considering how anime gets more and more popular worldwide, it's time to get adaptations outside Japan too.
There are other mangas/comics/manhwas that would make a great anime, but now stand no chance since they're not Japanese.

There is always the American comic adaptations, but these are very different than the classic storytelling of mangas.
Mage and Demon queen author is not from Japan or Korea/China, but their story is in manga style.
Also comic adaptations never have any gay characters or romance. (with very few exceptions that even then, these parts barely get any mention)

Yeah, she had to show emotions too, so this wouldn't be so one sided. But I mean, I'd prefer her showing more subtle signs of liking Malori or being embarrassed, not the silly expressions.
In the first version she came off too cold and cruel, in the second she started blushing too quick and took off that imposing cool aura about her.

Yep, pretty good. Not groundbreaking quite yet, maybe, but not everything needs to be. Besides, lately the plot has begun to thicken.

I was 10/10 into it in the first season. Perfect balance of comedy and incorporating the RPG gaming elements.
In the second season there was a considerable dragging in the beginning, during Malori's stay in the tower. And the King was introduced but didn't show up after like 20 chapters.
But now the plot has started again, so it's picking up.

Yeah, I confused it with the rpg element. Will edit it.

For the last chapter. Wonder if we will ever get to know the mage who betrayed the Demon Queen. More than likely she's dead since it's been 100+ years, but this is magic so who knows. Seems like Vel might have a crush on her.
I have to say, I prefered Vel when she was slightly more cold and aloof. After the season one got re-written she started having more silly expressions and blushing, which I think doesn't fit her element better than the first characterization.

I only clicked because of the weird title. I thought it might be something about boobs...

This is only funny because the mother in here is not attracted to her daughter. So the daughter seeing her dad as a love rival is actually funny and bizzare. Or how she wasn't kidding when she said she wanted to marry her mom.

Idk, I don't like incest, but I think there are different types and levels. Like cousins(preferably at least second degree) for example, who didn't grow up together is the best I can stomach.

Kaoru needs to grow up. It is none of Uta's responsibility to be there for her because her husband won't.

We've seen her mom exhibiting the same behavioral pattern. She wouldn't tell Kaoru she was sick, even to the very last minutes. Kaoru is the same. She won't take action of the situations around her, even when it is very detrimental. Her main kickback is not her losing her mom (although yeah that was pretty serious) but her own personality of always having to cling on others to cover up her issues.

Which chapters were you reading? In ch28 p9 she is there in the flashback within a flashback giving Karou a birthday present when Reiichi forgot (ie picking up his slack, as usual), and in ch29 she has a major role. 29 p9 Uta meets Kaoru on the way home from her first day of second year HS, neither act like it was unusual (Kaoru smiles as soon as she recognises her) - it probably happened regularly, and in the past too since they live in the same neighborhood and neither would have just changed schools

In chapter 28 Uta is nowhere around and Kaoru keeps being sad about her unrequited crush on Reiichi. She appears in one shot (that was also a flashback) but that doesn't even count because it's normal to have a flashback involving Uta and Reichii at some point.

I don't think what you say is impossible, but so far there is no evidence for that, just speculation and I personally don't see it. I mean yes, she did see Uta regularly too, that doesn't mean she liked Reiichi because of her.
If she had these lingering feelings from back then, she wouldn't react the way she did when Uta confessed.
She just desperately needs an emotional crunch and Uta has been there for her. But that's different from being in love or liking someone this way. If she gets desperate enough and loses Reiichi, I wouldn't put it past her to accept Uta's feelings so she won't be alone.

Lmao the shocked expressions of the crow are hilarious...

Also we finally know why certain humans can't be mind controlled by vampires. (they're virgins)
I think the comedy saves this series, because it doesn't seem that a goal or a bigger purpose exists here.

I have a feeling the message of these last few chapters has been that the thing Kaoru most loved about Reiichi was Uta.

You have a good analysis, but I don't see this particular point. In the flashback of the past chapters we saw her having a crush on Reichii without Uta being involved in any way.

This is the next time we get her internal monologue, and, yeah, she starts with "you just got lucky, I'm the real talent", but "That was what I believed" makes it pretty clear she's admitting that she was -wrong-, and that's the turning point at which she changes the way she treats Maekawa for the rest of the story.

She admits she was wrong about thinking she was the best because she lost, not because she regretted her attitude. And so what if Maekawa won without trying as much? That's still being envious.
That's why she treats Maekawa this way now. Her ego has been hurt, it's not because of the deadline.
Let's agree to disagree lol. I still don't like her.

This is not a "text". It is an imaginary story. A lot of people in real life believe that women dating women is just another phase, therefore their interpretation of what will happen in the story next, can very well be that the girls go back to dating guys. That also helps them like yuri and accept it, because at the back of their minds they're thinking that the girls will go back to "normal" again. Which is just as real as thinking the girls will stay together for ever.

Some guys even like yuri because it keeps their waifus "pure" , while they get to see them naked at the same time.

It's hopeless arguing with Blastaar. Not trying to.be rude really, but I think you really have a problem seeing things from the other person's perspective. You have a very linear and one way is the only right way thinking.
A lot of people can agree that they interpret and imagine what happens next to the story based.on their real life experience.
Stories interpretions and expectations are also subjective.
The problem here is, you can't accept any other opinion as valid besides your own. You don't seem to comprehend how others think if you don't agree with them.

You know, women experimenting with other women and then going back to men is not an uncommon concept irl at all. And that happens in the Western countries that are the less homophobic regions. Imagine about the other regions. Or dudes watching lesbian porn but then going on hating gays.
Stories are based in real life and real prejudices of people in the particular country. It is a fact that girl x girl in Japan IS considered girls being immature and not even valid. Something that actually doesn't take place in Japan only.

Comparing it with alien abduction is a very bad example.

Except for all the yuri stories set in high school where the girls discover that they like women, and have sex.

Having sex isn't a permanent thing for dating women. Oftentimes it is acceptable to experiment but then going back to men. The highschool story ends before they become adults, so readers can interpret it that way as well.

‘Love between girls is impossible’
What rock has this girl been living under? I hate her already

That short-hair girl: Love between girls is impossible.
Me: ships her with the other girl from this chapter, partially out of spite

I ship her with Mei. They deserve each other.

It’s the shackles of the Class S heritage. Make-believe relationships between girls are only allowed until graduation. After graduation/age 18, being interested in other girls is verboten. Class S is also to blame why subtext almost never turns into text because things actually happening is also verboten in Class S. If you dare to draw/write women over 18 interested in other women, then you’re not drawing Class S, you’re drawing LESBIANS! gasp Since anything related to actual homosexuality must be avoided, we can’t have that, so all girls must be under 18.

That's pretty interesting. I bet there's a lot of truth in that.
A lot of these yuri middle/highschool stories always gave me the vibe that it's temporary. Something like Virgin's Empire.
They go to an all girl school, so they can fool around for a couple of years.
