Y’know having an announcer type voice while reading would be awesome. It would make just about every romance novel hilarious. It’d be like if the narrator from Kaguya-sama kept talking and talking throughout each chapter. Or if a football announcer was yelling over a sex scene as if cumming was a touchdown or something.

This is such an underrated one-shot, I always end up having it re-read to fully understand the work play and take in the art, which is so delicate yet visceral and heart-wrenching. The problem with unrequited love is that though they make for beautiful stories, you wanna yell at the characters to JUST CONFESS. Especially when it really does look to be mutual. It’s not like they’re never going to meet again, so hopefully Umi pushes forth on her feelings since Ryou has given up. But this is just wishful thinking on my part. Anyways, this also has one of my favorite pages of manga ever (Pg 23)

I think someone’s said this before but: under all the way over the top comedy, there’s a really nice tenderness and wholesomeness to Maitake’s stuff. The HomuSaya karaoke bit is definitely indicative of that, how even through all of their antagonism and distrust toward each other, they form a close friendship through their love for Madooa. That’s really sweet.

Also, Maitake’s leg kicking gag with HomuSaya will never not make me laugh.

If it weren’t for story after A Day To Become Beautiful (imo the best one), Innocent Noise would be one of my favorite anthology series. Imura Ei has such a soft and dreamy style to both their art and writing. God I wish they made more Yuri, I love their works so damn much!!
