"never see original stuff anymore"

Princess Principal
Train to the end of the world
Girls Band Cry
Jellyfish don't swim at night

And I don't keep up, this is just from a narrow sample.

Appreciate good fan translations, anyway... the variance is high, perhaps higher than in the past.

There are a few more details that point to the 1870s that I didn’t think to squeeze into the first page, namely:

  • The declaration of mass recruitment of samurai family girls for Tomioka Mill so they could learn skills to take back home (and the rumors of foreigners drinking the factory girls' blood) began in 1872 and lasted only 10 or so years. The blood-drinking rumors specifically lasted only a short while before recruitment really took off. This puts the core setting of the story in the early to mid 1870s. [1]
  • The foreigners at the mill (French silk spinners like the woman we see in this comic / equipment experts) were only present at Tomioka until 1875. After that, teachers & management were all Japanese folks. [1]
  • The time period is also important as starting in the late 1880s until past the end of the Meiji era, labor disputes and far more oppressive working hours (up to 20 hours a day) clouded over the lives of silk workers [2], while in the 1870s working conditions were very reasonable (8-hour work days and Sundays off) [1] which aligns better with Ikuko's activities in the comic (going out on weekends and evenings)
  • Ikuko’s father was a samurai, which suggests he was at least an adult by the early 1860s, and doesn't look very old. Ikuko also she seems to have a clear awareness of the change in her family’s status, so it’s likely Ikuko was even born before the Meiji Restoration (1868), somewhere in the 1850s-60s, making her the right age for the large scale recruitment for silk mills in the early 1870s. Suu and Ame discussion 29 May 12:48

Started, yes. But for one year, Ame would be a 3rd year high schooler while Suu was a 1st year junior high.

I forget, is resurrection illegal or blasphemous in this setting? Like why are they hiding it?

This new girl is completely unnecessary and I don't like that we're doing this trope even with an established relationship. No, trying to break up a happy couple is not reasonable no matter the backstory. That's not a rival that's an ass.

It's either this ends quickly and I wonder why we did this in the first place, or we get a bunch of chapters with this girl trying to flirt with a taken woman and I wonder why we did this in the first place.

Ditto.

Reminds me of the short-lived rival near the end of Anemone. Or the race arc in Kase-san, though there least the 'rival' didn't know what she was up against.

I really like this series, though, especially how unequivocal she is in her lack of interest. Those disgusted faces are hilarious and right from the soul.

Interesting that Kanna is at most 3 years older than Koharu, assuming that they both took the same amount of time to revive.

Yeah, I noted that. Barely older than Koharu, while the other two are censored, and I think Chiyo's few flashbacks have looked like Taishou era or something.

Takahiko is the groom? He already seemed manipulative by the end of the previous chapter.

Specifically, I'd like to see one or two chapters somewhere between 2 & 3. The build-up works, and the conclusion kind of works, but it just felt like they jumped over a whole section where they start to realize their feelings.

We already saw Kana grow conscious of Ato. And though the jump to a date seems abrupt at first, after we see her packing, we can conclude she was going for one Nice Memory before running away.

It doesn't count as our first kiss because we're both girls but at the same time we can't show the photos of us kissing to anyone

And we'll both privately treasure it.

Hello! I'm looking for a very specific vibe for a sister incest manga! I'm looking for something where the two leads are for sure definitely head over heels almost fluffy in love, but where a not-small part of the drama of the story is how they handle their relationship being at best taboo and at worst illegal. I want that struggle to actually be a big component of the story! I tried "I Met My Sister on a Dating Site" and I liked it well enough but it only pays lipservice to that struggle it doesnt actually get into it. Any recommendations from you guys?

Maybe this one https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/our_love_at_the_core_of_it

I'll tell you what the author is cooking: a het conversion fantasy...or something. Idk...can't be bothered to go back and read those rants in previous comments.

It's Erika's fault

Certainly seems similar in ways.

3 new chapters just went up, but backdated, so if you're not subscribed and were only checking the front page you might not notice.

Shou was afraid in Okinawa, but then told Umi she wanted to come out in the previous full chapter. Which detail seems to have been put in limbo, come to think, didn't come up this time. Though the prior fear is probably valid: I don't trust all of Umi's friends to be supportive (not even Nae, despite my wanting her to be bi), and I wonder why exactly Zumi is so hellbent on getting out... especially since she complained about nosy neighbors last time.

The author might be thinking 'autistic', or might just be writing personality types she knows (possibly her own).

Comments:

82 a good mark for Umi, credits Shou. Ibu feels betrayed, headbutt. We never saw it but I think Shou said waaaay back when that Ibu headbutted her before she changed rooms, for as-yet-unexplained reasons.

Nae clings to Umi for 'warmth'.

yuri movie available, but they choose dinosaurs.

I don't think the US typically has that kind of educational movie in theaters.

Don't worry, Umi. The problem is that Shou likes it too much and wanted to pay attention to the movie. Pick a boring movie next time, then you can have all the handsex you want.

Citrus + discussion 24 May 14:53

You can imply sex without drawing porn. Show them in bed with bare shoulders peeking out from under the sheets. Draw one pouncing on the other, with hearts and "aah!" in the next panel, as if the character are below the panel border. Quips about being worn out last night. Good old fade to black. Taking a shower or bath together when mom's not home (and again, you don't even have to draw them naked in the shower) Etc.

Instead, have they ever kissed on the lips in Citrus+? Instead they mostly act like sisters, with Yuzu being a bit clingy. Exceptions being the "day in the life" special, quite recent in the sequence, and the push-down, also recent and also rejected by Mei at the time.
