Gets down on hands and knees and prays to Nekomura
(evil grin)
me thinks this story really had an effect on you all
I feel... confused
some days it's like that.
i love love love the art!
btw, hot is an understatement.
The guess about Akiho knowing more than she's letting on is interesting
They're in the same class, she probably knows the both of themLosing their potency would most likely be in the form of kissing not resulting in swapping at all, or maybe all the time.
It's not like it's an illusion, that losing its efficiency would result in people seeing through them.
Think of it as one's mind being in the other's body. Visually only, you can't recognise whose mind is in whose body.
i completely understand the concept of mind swaps and thought about how and why over kissing would/could affect their swapping ability, but one page in particular caught my attention. something about when Ichonose is in Natsuko's body made me think that her breast size was smaller. maybe it's how she carries herself or maybe it's a fluke and i'm not paying enough attention, but that's why i added the possibility that the swaps were becoming less potent as an option.
Haroko and Natsuko haved swapped so much that the swaps are no longer effective
If that were true the other part timer would've been realized something fishy was happening with Natsuko
i'm not so sure. if Natsuko never paid attention to him before, i doubt he would have had enough interaction with her to know if she were acting normal. this imho would be especially true if he were only interested to her because of her looks. ya know, the hot store chick. kinda like the gravure idol he looks at in the store. plus, remember that he was shocked that she was actually kinda funny.
oh well, something is afoot.
Something no one mentioned, Ichinose have collection of gravure idols because of their breasts, that's not just breast envy anymore...
yeah, that's a straight-up breast fetish. if this is going to turn less gag-yuri and into something more serious, will all her likes add up: love of breast + ok with kissing a girl + liking the feel of Ichinose while kissing her + have a collection of gravure idols + commenting specifically on their breast + ...

ok, since no one has mentioned this, has anyone stopped to think that the kisses may be losing their potency or that something is happening to Haruko ad Natsuko? On page 6, Haruko's classmate called her out by name while she was in Natsuko's body. Either the classmate knows they are swapping, Haroko and Natsuko haved swapped so much that the swaps are no longer effective, or the classmate, Akiha, is the reason they can swap in tne first place. so i guess my two questions are 1) is this is a major turning point like in fragtime, and 2) what would happen if they engaged in a long deep kiss? would that neutralize their ability to swap or what?
that really was baaaad, but def. a good read for when you're bored silly.
Oy, why does balloon girl look like she's licking a hand that's just been dipped in a honeycomb or honey pot ?????
ummmmmm... all that does is swap sweat for spittle. oh sure, at some pôint it air drys, but liquid for liquid is still liquid.
It's still no longer sweat, lol.
lol. i guess yer right.
i still have to chuckle to myself when i think about all the imagery from both the story and this thread. visions of a panting, slobbering dog keeps popping into my head. now when i reread this story, i think about how an untrained puppy would behave where one minute it bounces around following its owner and the next minute it growls and nips at the owner for being cruel to it.

"I meant to wipe the sweat off her neck but I licked it instead," is about as realistic as, "I tripped and my dick fell in her vagina."
Well she did wipe it off. Just with her tongue.
ummmmmm... all that does is swap sweat for spittle. oh sure, at some pôint it air drys, but liquid for liquid is still liquid.
The colored chapter is really pretty! I love that panel with just the petals and their shoes. Alas, no yuri.
Just to clarify, this is the "prequel" chapter of volume 4. We don't know what the 4komas at the end of the volume are about, but they very likely reunite at the end, if the titles are any indication (we don't have the scans of the 4komas yet). Whether it's yuri or not, we'll have to wait and see. I'm not overly hopeful, but at least they're hanging out again...
based on the post above, even if it is not yuri-based, like Shou, these two have grown on me and i am very much interested in their reuniting (if as you suggest that's what the 4komas are about). also, will Shou continue on with the stretching-theme or go another route like yoga for example?
Where did all these Takemiya books come from??
Japan I'd assume.
Oy! (- ლ)
Not NTR
NTR would end with the cuckhold crying in the fetal position, not plotting revenge.
i beg to differ and offer this as a reason why it should be considered NTR. remember on page 15 how the "rat", Azusa, slides to the ground. it's not quite the cuckhold in a fetal position, but it definitely looks like a sign of resignation and frustration. then again, should we even consider Azusa a cuckhold since she was never with Miyuki in the first place? but if we do, then NTR is when someone's love (generalized for this situation) is taken away by a rival usually through means of cheating. the cuckhold is powerless to stop the situation and reduced to a jilted lover. as a result of being rejected that person may feel frustration, anger, or justification because of their inadequacy. So if we apply that generalized definition to Azusa then the story leading up to page 15 fits this definition of NTR. Why? Because Miyuki was Azusa's object of affection. Kanami "stole" Azusa's opportunity to confess her love to Miyuki. Kanami repeatedly takes Azusa's things with Miyuki just being one of those things. Azusa overhears a private conversation btw Kanami and Miyuki and in her frustration hits the wall(?) because Kanami is one step ahead and she, Azusa, is powerless to do anything [i'm kinda ad libbing here]. That sounds like a NTR situation, and if not, why? (being sincere here as i may not fully understand the definition of NTR)
now what i do find interesting is how Azusa's attitude changes on the next page. is this why you say the story should not be considered NTR? anyhoo, it's like a switch was flipped on inside her which makes me think that the last page really makes the perfect setup for another story featuring these three. not holding my breathe, but i hope one is written.
edit: i did not want to accidentally piss someone off, so i went back and cleaned up the comment.

-The second:
In the following link you can see the color chapter of the fourth volume: http://sample.shogakukan.co.jp/bv?isbn=9784091874160
the sample is nice. as i scanned over it, i kept hoping there'd be more of a yuri tinge to it; but nope, it's good ol' SoL.
i thought the blossoms page was nice, but i didn't except to see them sitting around drinking and sighing. plus i really am convinced more than ever that Ran is an undercover lush! come on, at the beginning and at the end she's drinking. really? on the last page i couldn't translate the final word and i'm too lazy to go look it up, but this sounds like it's right before Keiko moves/transfers and Ran's getting a little sad. if so, it's rather different from the chapters that were released and might explain why the goodbye game was played. of course, my comment assumes i read that last page correctly.
People read one angst and don't remember they did few so they assume all are like that;
They actually didn't read all their works;
People are dumb and think drama = angst when they're completely different.
After seeing people whine about Jin and Shuninta angst for a long time I suspect it's option 3, seriously, I think it's already two years or more of whining about something that is obviously not true.
i'm gonna push back on #3 especially since you're lumping everyone into that group. it's prolly more fair to say it's a combo of all three. yes ppl have short term memories, yes not everyone's read all their works, and yes some ppl equate angst with drama.
purest... i tell ya :-(
ya answered before i could clarify my comment above. thanks cuz ya answered my underlying question.
More seriously, I expect the difference in tone in her stories has a lot more to do with what magazines she's publishing her work in (Yuri Hime, Le Rakuen, etc), or what audience she's aiming a particular doujin at, than anything to do with her personal life.
i agree with you to a point. i understand that a writer's imagination roams all over the place and isn't solely tied to their personal life; however, i also believe that pieces of one's life does influence ones' work. for example, at the end of Iroha ~Sweet~ (?), Takamiya-sensei prattles on about factoids that have nothing to do with the story. One in particular was about her height, why she stopped growing, and the fact that her sister grew to be taller than she. Now think about Girlish Sweet (?), one of her characters makes a similar comment about her height when compared to the sister (my apology for not having the exact example).
if that's not a good enough point, i liken writers to songwriters. songwriters don't only focus on events in their lives, but in many a case, they do draw from it.
Plus, the writer in me can identify with not wanting to write the same fluff piece over and over, just with different characters, and trying new things and new storytelling techniques instead.
i'd imagine you'd be a pretty boring and unoriginal person if that were the case. also, i'm gonna guess that many of the Jin fans here don't classify her as a 1-d writer, although much opinion is based on the order of what's released by the scanlation groups. as i mentioned in my previous post, if we were to read her works in chronological order, i'm sure much of the "surprise" when a fluffy story gets released wouldn't be as vocal as it was a few stories ago.
And of course there's the side that says psychoanalysing someone via the internet is just tacky.
yes it is, but like gossip and smut, it's sometimes too hard to resist ;-)
BTW, thank you for a thoughtful reply. it took me longer to reply than i wanted to because i really wanted to provide concrete examples. now of course i need to go reread all her work so i can come back and edit this comment. see, another good excuse to read Takamiya Jin... lol.
plus, i learned something very interesting about'cha. go figure :-)
now lemme ask you this... are you gonna make a mountain outta molehill because of an opinion?
I'm just sick of this whole characterization of Jin as OMG THE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGST because she's done a couple of stories that had drama in them, despite the great majority of her stories are either fluffy or have happy endings, and even when those happen the discussion is full of people going SINCE WHEN DOES JIN DO STUFF THAT'S NOT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGST as if they've never read her stuff before.
I don't think I'm the mountain-builder here.
ok, then all your A's were for dramatic effect and not for laying a foundation. good to know ;-)
with respect to Jin's use of angst and drama, i am not characterizing her as the angst-master. what i proposed was that an experiment be made measuring the amount of fluffy romance compared to more melodramatic angsty plots. based on the varying amounts, one of three things could be concluded: 1) if there's a serious amount of romance then unbeknownst to her fans, she's engaged in a blissful romance, 2) no conclusion because there was equal amounts to fluff vs. angst and ya just can't tell, or 3) the experiment and underlying hypothosis is utter bullshit, completely nonsensical and full of it. but in truth, who really cared. it's an experiment offered in jest. plus who cares if Jin writes mostly dramatic works or not. it makes a great excuse to read her work.
edit: ok, i'll even add in benefit of doubt here. after rereading my last sentence up above, i can see why you're... actually, i don't really understand why it bugs ya so much what people's characterization of Jin is assuming they have one. honestly, does it really matter?

I feel like Takemiya's works could be used as a tracker for when she's dating somebody. If this is true then that's amazing.
heh, that would be! so why not turn it into an experiment? when you get ahold a new release (either from the web or in print), see if there's more romance or more angst. i'd wager more romance means she's dating, while more angst means she's single (i.e. back to her old Takamiya Jin ways). what say you?
Aren't her "old Tamemiya Jin ways" fluffy romance, given that's what all of her earliest stuff is?
Or does that fly in the face of the image of Takemiya Jin that resides solely in some people's heads?
i'd say a bit of both Nez. she definitely has fluffy romantic stories, but imho that's only after angsting the hell out of the storyline. that plus i'll admit that i'm horribly biased and of late have only been reading the angsty stuff. i'm sure i could come to a different conclusion if i actually read all her works in chronological order based on publication date.
now lemme ask you this... are you gonna make a mountain outta molehill because of an opinion?

As a side note.
Higashiyama Shou was commissioned to illustrate a light novel, which was published on November 21 and it seems that the second part will be published this December. The problem is that this novel is an exclusive of the Kindle Store of Amazon Japan and I could not make the purchase because of a problem I could not solve.
If someone wants to take a look, here is the link to the page of the light novel: https://genron-tomonokai.com/eb/dischronia/
Amazon Japan: http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0189Q2CDO
The character on the cover looks like Ran, and for that matter, the Ran-like character looks like she ate every piece of meat in the yakiniku-ya + the Keiko-looking characyer looks pretty cool. that stoic looking stare just oozes "i'm the shit, so ya better watch yer back!"
I feel like Takemiya's works could be used as a tracker for when she's dating somebody. If this is true then that's amazing.

I'am pretty sure that "Charie" is a nickname for HIGASHIYAMA Shou. The humor and drawing are quite the same, like for
the way of drawing eye.
after reading this, I had the impression this was Higashiyama Shou's work as well, but I have never heard of Shou going by the pseudonym Charie. Plus, i am always suspect because I have seen plenty of artist's works that are similar to other mangaka.
Two quick points:
Shou has never posted a pic of himself online or in any publication that i know of to date; however, Charie has. His pixiv page has a pic of him in a half-handstand. Looks like he's really into breakdancing. Point is, I find it odd that Shou would all of a sudden let people know who he was under this name, but not under the Akili name. but ya never know. if this is Shou, maybe this is his way of being more outgoing, but not letting people know it's really him. Meh...
while the art is similar, when you see Charie's work:
and then compare it to Shou's work:
you can see the subtle differences. Very similar, but not too similar. Because of the similarities, it does make you wonder if Charie is a fan of Shou's, or was he inspired by Shou? Now that would be very cool! for the record, i went through every page in both Prism and Stretch. In Shou's works, the features around the cheeks, jaw and eyes are more rounded than are Charies, but the expressions are near identical as i can tell. that's why i think Shou may have been an inspiration to Charie. but again, who knows. the art is fantastic and the stories have been very entertaining. i could care less if the two artists are the same person, altough i would find it very humorous if that were the case. something along the lines of Shou hiding that it's him so he can release new Yuri works and atone for the fact that he "trolled" his Yuri fans (assuming you believe that that is what happened with Stretch).
BTW, sorry all. i didn't realize the images were this huge. i'll try to shrink them down next time.

haha ok.. i was thinking because "ciega" means "blind" in spanish :c
yes it does and yes i am.
what?! is ruby from steven universe .. "ruby and sapphire"? the yuri cartoon couple? I thought everyone here knows them D:
never heard of them. thanks you for sharing. i've added them to my list of 'to research and/or read'.
This isn't really netorare, just regular old cheating, I was a bit disappointed because I wanted some legit netorare action, but it was alright.
i could not agree more. actually, i'd call it more of a cat and mouse game than cheating, and whoever said they wished this has been longer or needed a part two, i really agree with that sentiment.
somehow, this story feels like it needs to play out more and answer the following questions:
- does Azusa get her chance to "crush" Kanami like she says she wants to?
- does Kanami really have deep seeded feelings toward Azusa and would they come to surface?
- is Miyuki really playing Azusa and Kanami for her own selfish needs and desires (as i question her innocent senpai act)?
- in Kanami's own subtle way, isn't she really being intimate and by that i mean having sex with Azusa (just not directly)? --> why else would she "punish" Miyuki by telling her to continue what she is doing with Azusa <--
- finally, i find this power struggle odd. odd in the sense that we never hear about anything Azusa has done to "get back at" Kanami, so if she is the "weak", good-girl type, I suppose this is more NTR in the definition sense of the word even if not in the actual sense.
Oh, new couple.
"In America, women can marry each other". Well, I'm not sure when this one was published, but it was possible in numerous other countries before America.
with japan-us relationship us marriage certificate probably more likely to get accepted.
i never thought about that. IIRC, at one point it was a grey issue here in the states.
I have a question for anyone who currently or has lived in Japan. does the country have to accept the marriage of any of it's citizens married outside the country?
if so and if it hasn't happened already, I cannot wait for when a lesbian or gay couple that's gotten married here in the US or any other country that allows same sex marriage moves back to Japan and registers their marriage. I imagine that will cause quite the stir.
blame it on the food, thats the whole reason :D
ps: what a lovely and blind pear, thats why you are "ciega" right?
I've always been ciega. the pear was just food for thought :-D
Btw, where is your avatar from?
Surely the only reason she's going out with her because the blonde girl fell in love with her first though. To quote her: "But you know, if I see something good, why do i care who bought it first? The fact I want it is what's important."
Basically, they're both awful. And the other girl is stuck in the middle of it :/ poor girl
yes the two frenemies are awful, but actually i think the dark haired one, Kanami is the worst of the bunch. Kanami's actions have me wondering if she does what she does to Azusa because somewhere deep down inside she really wants Azusa. for example, Kanami ALWAYS gets the same cute or adorable things Azusa has. why? she says if she wants it she gets it, but her wants are always things Azusa has or wants to get. to me that sounds like what she really wants is Azusa.
