Is it just me or is the manager the more attractive one?
It is 100% impossible to do a story that takes place at a game company without ripping off New Game. Truth.
Not that it was bad even if it had been a rip off. Its only real issue was that it was a bit on the short side, though it did conclude things reasonably well.
As someone else already posted this is only part of the chapter and they listed a link for the full thing. Sounds like the translator was only given these 4 pages and not told there was a full chapter worth of material.
Oh this looks like it could be really good. Interesting choice with the tatoos considering how taboo they are in Japan. On top of that on a woman and extensive very visible ones to boot.
I'm normally not one to particularly care but for some reason the censoring in this seems really out of place.
Apparently Japan has the lowest teen birth rate in the world. You'd think they could come up with a more likely way for childhood friend to disappear forever.
Though I do think this was super funny, especially how it was just suddenly dropped that she was pregnant with zero fanfare.
Not saying it isn't true but Japan also has the habit of underreporting or pretending things don't happen that would make the country look bad. So it might be more common than would think.

& also deserves an anime more.
NTR and Citrus anime adaptation was to promote Yuri Hime, I doubt Ichijinsha care much if their anime succeed or not as romance series in general always do poorly.
In fact, I think Citrus would do better as an anime than YagaKimi, it's just more... rauchy and thrilling? Yuri aside, they appeal to Yuri fans for different reasons.I do understand why Citrus & NTR r chosen to be adapted & why they do have a higher chance of doing better than YagaKimi as an anime in the current state of the anime industry/community. I was just being salty about it lol About the fact that good story doesn't sell, but fanservice does. It's kind of sad. Reminds me that Sangatsu actually did poorly despite being one of the best things to come out of anime for a while... I'm glad that it's getting a S2 somehow... (This is totally off-topic)
There might be a slightly better chance for Bloom doing good than people think as a anime and getting a chance. The currently airing anime Tsuki ga Kirei is a middle school romance what seems be fairly popular in the west (I'm assume it doing ok in Japan also.). Thing is it is apparently more grounded and lacking the over the top drama and angst and all that usually goes with romance anime. So it leads it to being more along the type of story Bloom is instead the likes of Citrus and NTR. So maybe it is a sign of stories with a different focus instead of huge drama queen and all type might start getting more of a chance. I'll admit I've only watched a episode or 2 so far of it so mainly going by what other people said right now though.
Btw I just have say I am really bummed there is no Kase-san this month...
It is based off of Maria Watches Over Us. It was at one time basically the flag ship for the shoujo ai genre and single handedly brought back the class S genre. It has 4 anime seasons and something like 38 LNs.
Also, introduced "Gokigenyou, Onee-sama!" and "You should tie your scarf in a proper knot."
It is so weird reading something based before so much of the commonly known source material was out.
I guess we're just getting old.
Getting nostalgic here BTW. I really miss Yumi and the Yamayurikai.
There is a really good fanfic called Keeping future that currently has 14 chapters. It is about Yumi and Sachiko after Sachiko graduated. Personally I think the writing is good enough to of been part of the original story. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6815115/1/Keeping-Future. If you want something more for the story.

I tried but I just can't follow this. It'd probably help if I knew what it was based on.

Ugh.. Won't be a new Kase-san chapter till late July it seems.
Well its first volume is the number one seller on amazon in the yuri/yaoi genre right now.
Actually, 10 count is no.1. Yaoi will always beat yuri no matter what, sadly.
YagaKimi's success is more prominent in Japan, tbh. I remember vol 3 basically topped the Amazon JP manga ranking within the first week of its release, both in the physical & Kindle categories. The overall sale as of the time of vol 3's release was 250K. Vol 1 had had its 11th reprint a couple of months back. I'm expecting an overall sale of around 400-500K by the time vol 4 is out.
It always makes me rlly happy when I see how successful this series is over there in JP ; ;
I know I specifically read it saying it was the best seller in the yaoi/yuri genres when the volume first came out but I can't remember where I read that. Maybe it just didn't keep that spot.
I just love how Nakatani uses perspective to convey characters' feelings & relationships to one another. She's so great. I love her. This series will adapt so well into an anime, I rlly hope Dengeki won't miss the opportunity to do so. Since Yuu is side by side along the big names (most already have their own animu) in the promotional image for Dengeki 25th anniversary campaign, can I dream that they're planning something big for YagaKimi?
I like how that cover art is all divine and super powered beings and then there is Yuu just a normal everyday High School girl in with them.
what i'm really happy about this manga (aside from its beautifully told story) is its fanbase. The length of trust people actually give to the author and the amount of praise it has gotten everytime new chapter (and special chapter) is released makes me so happy. Heck, it's not even my own works and im so proud
Well its first volume is the number one seller on amazon in the yuri/yaoi genre right now.
This is why I really didn't like the 7seas TL. They changed the tone significantly by having the dad saying "I'm afraid I have to put my foot down if it was." It comes off as him being strongly against Yuu getting a gf even though that's not rlly the case :/
Hahahaha lets no talk about 7seas I'm really tilted by the small details :')
They wrote Touko and Sayaka's names wrong like 3 times in volume 1 hahaha //jfc pls
At one point, the teachers were saying that x person would be proud of Touko (author deliberately being vague) and they TL'd it as "her friend would be proud". Yes. Her sister. The teachers are knowingly talking about her sister and called her Touko's friend. Gj it makes perfect sense
I just read v2 and the chapter focusing on Maki-kun was TL'd to "I'm not an actress" or something. Yeah no, that wasn't about Yuu, it was about Maki, Maki's the one preferring to watch the "plays" unfold like a spectator, he's the one saying he isn't an actor. Even if it was subject for debate as to whonis the title named after (since Yuu really isn't down to act either, though considering the context, it really wasn't about her), they should have left it as "actor" tbh, since it's gender neutral.
But daamn @7seas taking guesses/trying to be more specific than the lines really were and just getting it wrong. I'll still buy the books to support the series but tbh I'll just trust the scanlations for more accurate translations and refer to them to see the bigger picture
It is funny considering that a 7seas rep actually came on reddit when it was being talked about the series having gotten licensed. They were going on about how much 7seas loves their yuri and how much care they would put in translating it. They even responded when the issue of another series having a poor translation from a different publisher was brought up and them asking what was wrong with it.
After Touko issues get cleared up and they get together for chapters afterwards I have trouble imagining Yuu in a sex scene for some reason. I would like to see it come out to her family or at least her sister to see what she does. I'd also really like see how it is handled at school if they keep it secret or let people know. If it isn't kept secret I really want know what the rest the school reaction would be. The school idol who has turned down everyone is suddenly in a relationship and with a girl plus a underclassman. Anyone of those would cause a big reaction but to combine all three!! We already had a chapter with Yuu worried about what would happen if it was found out.
Something noone seems be mentioning is they are a year apart in grades so eventually they won't be going to school together and Yuu will have a year alone on her own in school. Depending where Touko goes to college they could end up completely separated for at least a year if not longer also. What effect could this have on their relationships. We have a few running romance series right now dealing with this issue. One where they worked so they could be in the same area and near each other even in college. Another where it is a forgone conclusion that college is going to separate them and how will they deal with being apart from each other while still remaining in a relationship. Then another about them staying in same area but trying find time for each other. This is no small thing the effect it could have on how their relationship works out.
Lol, I see nearly 2000 comments here. Is it somehow popular? Some drama was made by basing on this manga? Just asking, cause I'm not very in anime/drama things.
The first volume is the number one best seller in the yuri/yaoi genres on amazon.
^ I do remember reading this before (have the pics of tiger Yuu saved) & I think you're right about it being from Toranoana. Tho yeah, it's not on here. Thanks for bringing this back up. This reminds me I need to set chibi tiger Yuu roaring as my ava somewhere...
Yeah, this seems to be one of the last bits of YagaKimi stuff which has not been translated so far. The only other thing I remember off the top of my head would be the guest artist entries in this litte anthology:
I once read some rough translations on /u/ or Facebook, but these were very rough. So a revision would very much be appreciated.
Some of these are translated in the extras like volume 3 extras. There is also these http://imgur.com/a/SPaHX.
There is also this https://youtu.be/JohoCyOiT1A.

From what I have heard, Doujin!Sakurano is kind of a pervert, and it seems Yukiko is really trying to revive that aspect with the pool chapter.
Doujin!Sakurano?
I believe that this series was originally started as a doujin that was more explicit with the yuri until it got picked up for publication and was rebooted with the yuri toned down. I don't believe the doujins have been scanlated anywhere.
Oh that is to bad. Those would of been interesting to see.

Ah I love this series. I'm so glad see new new chapters. I was starting to think it was going get drop and that the group had shifted to mainly just focusing on Love Live or whatever the series is called doujins.
Poor Sakurako is having a harder and harder time containing her lust. One day she is going just snap and jump her. I guess people pretty much just view them as a couple at this point.

Yep, chapters are to short . I want more..
Idk my first reaction at the new girl was ooh another cute cat girl
A new character doesn't necessarily mean it'll bring tension, hopefully it won't :T Ratherc it'd be nice if the new girl perhaps lives more comfortably with her condition than Yuki does; she could be a good reference about stuff/give Yuki pointers about things she struggles with.
So far we know that Yuki is extremely self conscious about her condition, and is very wary of her interactions with other people. Maybe having someone in the same boat would nice for her to relate and talk to
Ya this comes down to environment someone grows up in effecting their outlook and personality. To put it bluntly Yuki was treated like shit it seems growing up. Both by her mom and people around her so no wonder she is the way she is. The new girl while not knowing what her childhood was like is already one up on Yuki with having the cheerful bubbly friendly Ayano there to be her friend so she wasn't alone.
It seems like these cat girls might have a rather unfair advantage in track and field depending how many bonuses beside looks they get from their cat nature.
Just a thought but shouldn't the vamp with the super hearing noticed there was someone right around the corner?
Any chance the back cover is a troll translation by the translators to mess with people?
Here's the original bubble in question.
So speaking of the back cover, I can't but help notice that Kotooka and Washio are both wearing the same style bracelet?
Wow, I didn't even see that. You have a good eye.
Umm can't read japanese..
Any chance the back cover is a troll translation by the translators to mess with people?
@heimdall
If it makes you feel better, Riko and Haru ends with them still just being friends.
Ya I went through the raws and while I can't read Japanese I got the general idea of what happens. It seems like a let down though I'd still like read the rest someday. I'd also love be able finish Kanamemo or at least find out what is the final outcome for the MC and each of the rest the cast. Not to mention who if any ends up with someone. Don't think I've ever even seen raws for it though.
As far as this goes I'm rather impressed they touched on the whole them interacting with things in the world and people not seeing it and why. I think most things just kind of glance over that kind of thing instead of even attempting to explain it.
@lordcruxis
Unfortunately, like the author's previous work, it seems we have to make do with flirting and subtext. :<
Ugh, It seems the translations for their other work stalled out again after getting picked back up briefly when it was featured on dynasty front page. Kind of a frustrating manga after it kind of glosses over events in a certain chapter.
it kind of sucks if this is going be the same type.
I just don't get why noone in Japan has never heard of allergy meds in manga.
I suspect the children were not actually allergic to catulus humans. It seems more likely that their pet allergies, medicated or not, were just being used as an excuse by parents to avoid her out of prejudice. Plus I'm not allergic to cats, but I thought it was caused by shedding and grooming that spreads dander around - and that seems like it wouldn't really happen if all you have is cat ears and a tail.
It is actually a protein/enzyme (forget which) in cat saliva that people are allergic to and not the hair itself. There is actually a med you can get from vets to give to your cat that makes the saliva non allergenic.
But ya I was just talking in general about allergy meds and manga. As it is a trope that gets used often. In fact there is another manga on the front page right now that the chapter deals with cat allergies. In fact the MC cat allergy plays a role in the story itself.

So is there something I don't know about Japanese culture (to add to the ever increasing/decreasing list) or is what her mom said seriously fucked up?
And seriously? Every person I have ever known that is allergic to cats or dogs love them to a ridiculous extent.
This new Catgirl is worrying. I hope it's just a misfire of the warning bells but that just screams unnecessary angst.
The mom basically said straight to her face stop trying make friends and trying be happy because it is a inconvenience to the mom. Essentially telling her to spend her life alone and sad/lonely because the mom couldn't be bothered with her daughter's happiness.
I just don't get why noone in Japan has never heard of allergy meds in manga.
