There is no way that fork maneuver would ever actually work to stop a knife with stabbing force, especially one handed behind the back. It would either slide off the fork upwards or the fork holder would lose their grip.

It's very funny to me that Kyouka says Nakano is hers now, she's bought her when like earlier in the chapter it's pretty clear that she's given Nakano this job because they're friends and she's like in desperate need of money.

Especially when saying you bought her conjures up the idea that you're using her for whatever perverted ends you have when again, it looks like Nakano is literally just being made to clean a specific wall of the mansion over and over again for Kyouka's entertainment.

This is literally just Kyouka going, "oh I can totally fool her into having sex with me to get Nakano back when she really doesn't need to. This'll be fun"

Not only is she being told that she has to marry, but who to marry and why -- namely because her only worth is being a functional baby machine. :-) I particularly liked the part where her mother said that a woman's entire worth is in her youth, adding hypocrisy to her long list of flaws. Gods, that character is infuriating because she hits so close to RL.

Technically she called youth Women's intrinsic value with the possibility of also having other values like smarts, which she doesn't consider Makino to have any of

... either way the strategy is still kinda weird. Hibai now plainly explained that it's about exposing Rose as killer (makes sense), but before that she's basically stacked all the cards into the "refugees are in an absolutely awful situation" direction, which will do the opposite ... she could have set up the whole "we need rescue!" bit anywhere, without making Benika so sympathetic to the refugee situation ^^;

I don't get why so many of you think that this arc will naturally lead Benika directly to her inner Mother Teresa. Showing Benika how f'ed the refugees are makes it plausible for them to make desperate life choices and just how much emotional baggage they all carry, supplement that will a live example mixed with some demi Lord of the flies to really hammer it home. Ohh and in case anyone forgot being a killer is not something anyone is gonna let go just because they are in love. I've commented it before, if Benika doesn't care about that then she is either a psycho or she don't love Rose. Hibais plan is solid with the one exception that she can't predict how Rose would respond to that text.

All these date settings are making me excited for the chapter when Benika gets to see Rose without a disguise (that's a wig and fake glasses)

Except that both the chase scene and the date was about Babylon or at least had them be heavily involved.

The date was the hitmen in Benikas world, the normal world, the current mini arc is Benika in the refugee world

FWIW, we've jumped in at the "punishment" end of the pool; it could be that people are doing other things too, but Hibai brought Benika here, not to Refugee School.
