Some indicator of physical attraction (alternatively, an indicator of asexuality).

Some indicator of romantic attraction beyond slight fondness.

Something other than her brushing off every single advance Sakurako has ever made.

I think her total "yeah, why not" attitude to everything in life is totally incongruent with what romantic love is. Spending the rest of your life together shouldn't be on the same level as "ah, should we have chinese for dinner tonight?"

Kasumi is so unbelievably laid back, that if Sakurako left her, I think she'd say, "that sucks, now I have to make my own dinners," then proceed to never think about Sakurako again.

Glad this is getting uploaded here again! One of my favourite ongoing yuri series (though I am admittedly biased).

Form me personally it's more that adding sudden love rival/someone messing with established relationship is cliche af and incredibly lazy. I think you're getting ahead of yourself here. You should at least wait and see how the story handles the character, rather than being so dead-set on hating the very idea of it. I understand that this is as much a reaction thread as a discussion thread, but this is reactionary to a degree that your argument starts to lose its substance.

If the mere existence of a love rival (who obviously won't ruin Nanoha and Chidori's relationship) is enough to make you unable to enjoy any moments at all between the main couple, I guess you'll need to put it on hold for a while. You'll be missing out on a lot of great series with that attitude, though.

Scenes like the the second half of ch.56 are what I read yuri for. I have no idea why anyone would prefer a frustratingly ambiguous friendship yuri when they could have sweet cute scenes with two girls in love.

Well said! That's how I feel about it too. Chapter 56 is my favourite of the series so far. Absolutely amazingly fluffy and heartwarming. I love the way Nanoha gets all excited and playfully teases Chidori after. The best yuri stories are the ones that don't dance around the fact that the main couple are in love.

We've been so blessed with these steady updates. Already bracing myself for when the updates go back to being every few months. ;-;

Translations are complete up to 66 currently, but even if we do keep a good pace, it will eventually result in biweekly releases, as that is the pace of the raws. This flood of chapters can't last forever, sadly.

Honestly, not even counting the whole "it's not a yuri" tweet, I think Nettaigyo totally killed its momentum with the recent chapters. I don't think I've ever read a less enjoyable angst fest.

Ah! I am so happy to hear that! It's one of my absolute favourite series (assuming we're talking about "Her Tale of Shim Chong", "Between Summer & Fall" was fun but I mostly included that one because I thought the panel was hilarious).

Hmmm... so their friend ACTUALLY said HIM... I was wondering if she was image was everyone else's imagination of the presumed guy since there's no face. If she had used gender neutral terms I would have suspected that the person she was crushing on at her cram school was female...

Ah, the gender of the crush is actually ambiguous in the raws. Here is what schuyguy said when we were quality checking:

"Kumako doesn't refer to her crush by gender in the original. In fact, no one refers to her crush in any gendered manner throughout the entire conversation. But this is very common in Japanese. Usage of pronouns is rare, because once the subject is brought up you don't need to explicitly state it for the rest of the conversation. Unfortunately, you have to make a choice in English. Any translation of that exchange that avoided the use of gendered pronouns would sound unnatural in a way the original doesn't. If I used "them" then it would draw attention to the lack of a defined gender in a way the original doesn't. It just doesn't work the same way in English. If you refer to a singular person as "they", people ask for clarification."

So, here, Kumako doesn't refer to this person as "him" until someone else does first. They made an assumption, and she went along with it.

Chapters 49 to 52 were very shoddily translated to english a few weeks ago, so it's possible you read those. YP version will catch up and surpass those very quickly, so I wouldn't recommend them.
