I don’t think she’s open to her mom cause I’m not sure she even knew she was gay before meeting Terumi. This reads like a gay awakening story to me. Actually, i was curious if Terumi was after Yasuko’s mom at first?

You're probably right. But that conversation seems weird for a mom to be having with her supposedly straight twentysomething yr old daughter. It sounded more like a mom trying to playing match maker for her date challenged adult son. Yasuko's mom even worked in a "she's single" plug. Sure it could just have been gossip. However you add in Yasuko's mom asking if she was smitten and it makes me wonder.

Edit: The rest of the story does seem fit a gay awakening story. And Yasuko did seem a bit surprised that she had a wet dream about Terumi. Though I couldn't find anything to definitively disprove she was out to her mom.

I'm curious about that line in the conversation, Yasuko had with her mom, right after meeting Terumi. Yasuko's mom asked her "What? Were you Smitten? I am wondering is Yasuko openly gay with her mom, or is it just more of that old manga trope that even girls crush on the super cute girls.

Welp, I went and read the raws, and overall I thought it was pretty unsatisfying. Nothing ever happens between the MC and her friend because the manga was axed, and the only kiss we get is a forced kiss with the dude.

So yeah, not very satisfying.

Why even bother translating a series that was axed before it's time I'm not complaining, I'm genuinely asking

Hmmm let's see here. We have Aaaaaagst Love triangle Het and Yuri tags all in one story. My guess is that Misa's beloved sempi will be in love with Yoh. And Yoh will use that love to get between Misa and sempi. Yoh will probably even go as far as to have sex with the guy, to make Misa give up on him.

I hope I'm wrong I absolutely hate the "lesbian sleeping with the straight girl's boyfriend/crush, in order sabotage their relationship" trope. It just seems like such an obvious losing strategy for everybody involved.

Edit: What kind of sales pitch is, "That guy ignored you, and had sex with me. You should give up on that jerk and go out with me instead" anyway.

Well Yoh got a little creepy there at the end, didn't she. It's a bit of poetic justice when she found out that Misa had a wet dream about her beloved Sempi, because of it.
Obviously I'll be rooting for Yoh, but molesting the girl, she likes, in her sleep is going to make it harder.

Edit: Sometimes I'm not sure how a manga author wants us to perceive things. Are we suppose to look at Yoh molesting Misa as the depraved act, most of us would agree it is. Or are we suppose to see it as just Yoh's youthful feeling boiling over.
I've seen many things, in manga, that I would consider wrong, and in some cases even down right criminal, treated like it's no big deal. In Morinaga Milk's Sweet Lips, the girl literally tied up and raped her best friend as a confession of her love. Not to mention the tons of Age gap lolicon's that treat an adult dating a child as okay. So I'm really not sure how, Yoh having her way with Misa in her sleep, is suppose to make me feel about her character.

I guess I see us guys getting worked up over T&A and feel like we were objectifing women in some small way, and thought lesbians would be more respectful some how. Women aren't creeped out by men who have urges. Most of us have them regardless of our sex, gender and orientation. Appreciating someone doesn't automatically mean you're objectifying them, and even if you are, the key thing is how you TREAT that person. That's where the problems comes from.

No that doesn't make sense. If they were doing that, I think they would probably just stayed a couple and made a family together.

My guess is after high school one of them, my money is on Mio's mom, convinced herself that their love was just a mistake of youth. She descided to have a "proper love" and started to date guys. And either got pregnant, or had a short lived marriage that left her with Mio. Mayuko probably just got a man so she wouldn't be left behind. Obviously Mayuko's relationship held out a bit longer, seeing she has two kids. While they were "playing it straight", then focusing on raising their kids they were secretly pining for each other. That's why they stayed at arm's lengh from each other, because it hurt to be so near and yet so far.
