I'm hoping it's more of a "3 more chapters before we get to 'Oh, I actually am in love with her'" type of manga.... ;;

I do not think Show even has made up his mind about the plot for 46.

I think that's very likely lol. Which means the ending will either be a hit or miss with everyone here.

that's a damn shame. I really like the way he draws, and he often seems to have a lot on his mind, and it shows in his SOL works. Maybe that's why shoujo wouldn't have worked for him; he unfortunately seems destined for josei type stuff, in my opinion. A little too much on the realism and on the darker side, with not enough fluff to carry it through in shoujo. That being said, I think he's found his niche in loli stuff? His other fanbox is curated specifically for it, it seems.

Either way, excited to ride the end of VAMPEERZ with everyone.

actually on board with this--- I wouldn't mind it at all. they all seem very cute and would be able to learn to love each other eventually (or share time!)

I just can not find it believable that Aria would still hold enough warmth in her heart for Al-Kamil to be literally incapable of killing her at this point.

i'm reading the web novel this is based on and... well lol. i sure hope the manhwa takes a very different direction, because the behaviour of qu xizhi is pretty damn hard to accept.

lmao I saw the prologue a few days ago and I immediately went and read through the novel last night... and well, it was... something lol.

ngl, but the last chapter made me angry lol. the extras were pretty nice but honestly there was a part of me that regretted reading this story. it's so unfortunate because this story starts out so well and it all goes to hell when we get to 薄一清 (baoyiqing)'s part, in my personal opinion. I honestly hope the author and the artist deviate from the original novel as well. It's also interesting bc the author has actually rewritten the ending before tho.

Despite the initial regret, I think this story really made me reconsider relationships in a new light, so it was well worth the read.

It's like:
societally acceptable behavior
the gray area
abuse

and this novel pretty much floats around in the gray area and skirts the edge

but at the same time, this novel taught me to try not to judge other people's relationships. human relationships are complex. this novel showcases a character that is borderline socially unacceptably possessive but they acknowledge their thought patterns are not very healthy

ultimately their partner accepts this part of them

outside of the relationship, I think ppl would be quick to call it a red flag and toxic etc but it seemed that inside the relationship, there was a complex give/take that both partners were ultimately okay with and eventually happy about

Just hopped onto the train on reading this series. So much potential and it's going great in the first 5 chapters already.

Even with the less than perfect dialogue/translations-- I'm very grateful for them on finishing the series! I've adored Shinobu and Takako for years since I first read this series on DS, and I'm so very happy for them on finally getting their happy "ending"! I absolutely love how the author always brings the chapters to end with their love for each other.

Are there more volumes?

The web novels consist of only 3 volumes, but the light novels have 4 in total, with the fourth volume slated to be translated and released in April 2023. I chose to only read the LNs since the author mentioned they rewrote and shifted some of the focus in volumes 2 and 3 for the light novels.

I just finished catching up on Vol 2 & 3 yesterday and here are some of my thoughts... (spoilers below.)

Volume 2: Someone in the thread mentioned that they were pretty dissatisfied with this volume, but I personally liked how it wrapped up the main plotline and set us up for progression for the next arc (Euphy and Anisphia). Honestly, I was a bit shocked how there was so little in terms of yuri moments-- everything was subtext-like and so lowkey that I was frankly worried this wasn't going to be yuri in the end lol. It was just impossibly slow, in my opinion. The afterword was clear that this was intentional though, since things were to ramp up in vol 3 &4, so in hindsight, it was good.

Volume 3: For a little while, I thought Anisphia was a bit OOC because her reactions became really dramatic throughout this volume, but I also think it might've been also attributed to the translation-- I think this LN has a clear ending in mind, but I think the author could've cut the fat for better writing at times. I thought the progression in their relationship could've used a chapter from Euphy's POV, but all in all, I was happy to see progress in the yuri department. I liked that this volume shifted focus like the author had promised.

I'm looking forward to Volume 4, but I'm a little confused as to how Euphy is supposed to help pass on her lineage. Will Anisphia and Euphy marry? They're step-sisters now, so is this psuedo-incest... and will there be magical babies? Will there be adoption? I've got questions lol.

My second thought is that these European style fantasy girls are feeling the appeal of a Japanese OL lol.

Haven't seen anyone mention this lovely, cute, and completed web series and so I wanted to share how much I adore the two main female leads and best boy Otaku-kun who always knows how and when to sidestep away for the two girls! I haven't seen it uploaded to DS and am not sure if it's because of rules or because of the lack of an uploader, but you can likely find the series by just searching "Temptation of Shiro Gal & Kuro Gal" anywhere.

I've looked through the author's twitter and I can't guarantee if their other works contain yuri or not, but this particular series they did seems to be fully yuri although it hasn't been fully translated so I can't tell if there's an ambiguous ending or not. Likely the case, but it's still cute.

Aya was at karaoke and Mitsuki was with her uncle at a party in the store. Both needed a breath to listen to music and thought of each other. Aya is already booking it to her by the time Mitsuki is calling to see if she wanted to hang out.

Aya makes it to the store by the time the call reaches her and she answers at the front while Mitsuki was like wait you're here already!? Aya proceeds to be smooth as hell

Light novel. It's a "I really didn't like it and this development feels like it came out of nowhere" bad but not complete shit. I could see some people liking it, I just didn't. And Volume 4 might still make it work and Volume 3 does have some good in it like some nice relationship development but the main plot just does not work for me and feels very unsatisfying, made worse thanks to volume 2's ending being fantastic which got me so hyped for 3

Lowkey worried, but I guess I can only give it a read to see how it goes. I'm coming straight from the "I Favor the Villainess" LNs / manga adaptation, so the bar is quite high for me in terms of both the treatment of plot, storyline progression, and relationships. Hope it's somewhat on par. Thanks for giving me a heads up in expectation. I'll lower it for now haha.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have an incredibly incredibly hard time, but as a dog-owner, if my dog turned rabid and the best thing for her and other people (including myself and my family/loved/cared ones) were to put her down, I would at least attempt to seek out a way to kindly do so to put her out of her misery and progressive deterioration.

I know everyone has their own set of morals and ethics but given that Al-Kamil has hunted down everyone (and looks to be finding a way to get rid of Aria), I think it's about time for Aria to accept that there is no other recourse left at this point. I find Al-Kamil's lust for blood, death, and needless murder to be acceptably like a disease to both her and those around her, since there seems to be no way to rehabilitate her at this point and she's actively spreading her "lineage" of murderous followers.

I mean I'd struggle for sure. I'm just hoping Aria chooses to kill Al this time around because she's cocky af and I'd like to see a happy ending instead of more peeps dying left and right :(

... and more importantly, ch27 is up and we got a nice, if short little moment between the pair of main characters... and a whole lot of stuff other than that, as always :P Which I think makes it interesting - this manga does seem to me mostly about the magical revolution itself and the princess, and the relationship with Euphie, while important, doesn't take center stage. Even if repeat myself incessantly about how it would probaby better if they cut the dialogues in half, I still like it.

I am okay with Anise and Euphie's personal relationship being a subplot rather than the main plot, because I am convinced that being the Queen Consort is still Euphie's destiny... just with Anise as her Queen Regnant. :3

Their relationship is the main plot in volumes 1 and 3 of the novels. Volume 2, which is where we're at right now with the manga, has it on the backseat. It'll probably keep alternating so volume 4 will again have it be on the side.
Also, be prepared to be disappointed by volume 3 when the manga or anime get to it. It was bad.
