One of the characters in Takemiya Jin's Fragments of Love has a brother, and part of the story is him discovering his sister's homosexuality as well as the reciprocal. I'm not sure he's a younger brother, though.

It took me a second reading to realize the missiles were giving greetings after being launched.

It's interesting how much attention there is to detail, but the author gives certain bits little veneers of cartoonishness to make them fit in the world of the story.

A weaponized hacking tool designed to cause fatal car crashes and make them look like accidents misses the point when the delivery system is a giant missile that sticks to the victim's vehicle. Even if it detaches or self-destructs, the giant dent left by the clamp is a pretty dead giveaway.

But the underlying idea of electronically hijacking a computerized vehicle is a very real concept. In the world of Animal Crossing-esque humans and anthropomorphic animals embroiled in international espionage and mortal danger, it's rather fitting that such a weapon would be wrapped up in a cute, cartoon fish face that says 'Hello' before trying to kill you.

Also: Holy shit. I thought Alice was just playing into that old character trope of disliking birds, but it turns out she's actually a huge racist. That took me for a loop.

Also also: I had to look up the definition of twock to make sure I was reading it right.

As Tara said earlier, the short length of the story limits the amount of context you can draw from. You simply can't read very far into it because there isn't much there; it's just a funny, little story Tamamusi wanted to relay to her audience.

I feel like the connotations are heavily colored by the word choice used in the translation.

I'm not criticizing the translators and saying they got it wrong; I just don't think we should read too far into what Tamamusi's commentary here may or may not be.

She can also be bi. I just don't want to jump any guns: we haven't seen Tomoko react to a lesbian relationship outside of her own fantasies, and her attraction to boys hasn't been completely ruled out.

If it's any consolation, there are bits of yuri early on in the form of Tomoko's relationship with her friend Yuu.

The interesting part (at least from a western perspective) is that traditional Japanese society has very similar attitudes regarding the "impurity" of sex despite institutional religion having a much weaker influence on their culture.

If you have trouble enduring the cringe, it helps to take the series a few chapters at a time with breaks in between.

Even as a fan of cringe comedy, if I try to binge read the series I can only make it to volume 3 before I start contemplating suicide.

Which do you recommend?

The Discord has a larger population and is generally more active, plus I know several users there are fans of the series and there have been discussions on the topic in the past.

Don't read too much into risingstar3110's post, Tomoko isn't definitively gay and none of the characters (save Ucchi) are explicitly attracted to her... at least not yet.

The anime doesn't get much in the way of yuri. There are a few instances of Tomoko perving out/sexually harassing one of her friends that carried over from the manga. But the heavy subtext doesn't begin in the manga until long after the anime stops covering it.

If you're looking for that, start reading the manga at chapter 69. However I strongly recommend starting from the beginning, as the series relies heavily on continuity and callbacks that allow it to build very compelling characters and relationships between them.

Fumes, plus Deku X Uraraka is so pure you'd almost mistake it for a yuri ship so this is crack really

There's some interactions here and there between them in the manga, but nothing too worth mentioning. They've held hands though

I see. I'm pretty happy with what came out of Kyouka x Momo; that alone was way more than I expected from the series. The shonen genre isn't one I go into looking for yuri subtext.

Japan has the idea of class S, so on a societal level there is the widespread idea that intimate, romantic relationships between girls is a mark of immaturity and something to be outgrown with adulthood. Western cultures have similar ideas, just not under as-clearly-defined terms ("homosexuality is just a phase", LUGs, etc.).

So the nurse rejecting her experience with Touma and instead resigning herself to her arranged, heterosexual marriage can easily be interpreted as her giving up on her inner girl for the sake of her womanhood. I generally agree with the theme that one shouldn't have to completely give up their inner child in order to become an adult.
