Am I alone in this? When ever we find our lead has a distant relationship with their parents I want to throw an arm around the parents, point at their offspring and with watery eyes scream "but dat's yo bebe!" Bonus if my intervention alone solves all their issues. ^________^

It's weirding me out that we keep coming back to "hugs. Are they normal? Are they weird? How often do the occur? The jury is still out!"

Skullgirls? It was a surprisingly mechanically solid fighting game. One of the best from the last 5 years or so.

Stupid dyslexia I read that as "yuri fighting game" rather than "fighting game yuri." Skullgirls never had anything beyond a bit of subtext, but for something like a fight game that's basically unheard of.

There is a bit of hinting at something between the girls in my profile pic. It's like a fun bread crumb trail to follow. And I mean bread crumbs since the stories in most fighters is a blurb and a few seconds to minutes long video that is continued(sometimes) every few years in most cases. You can actually just search youtube for the endings of Lilli and Asuka from Tekken. The latest has Lili buying Asuka's fathers dojo and home then "moving in."

The butler almost sounds like he "outs" Lili In one of the endings.

Kidoguchi is a treasure.
Could not be happier with Maekawa overhearing and her being right there, right then is par for the course with her peculiar-places-to-hanging-out habit. It surprised and cracked me up.

That pacing was a little different. Just wanted to get the "mom" introduced as quickly as possible? I don't like her at all so far. I guess she's the comedy relief though.

Don't recall if I've said it in here before and I'm too lazy to go look, but it seems to me that Shimamura was probably teased or had some other sort of social meanness done to her, maybe had a good friend turn on her or something, so her reaction was to basically pull back and become a social hermit. I think that was the point of her little backstory about how she was an outgoing and friendly kid; something happened in middle school that made her decide people suck and aren't worth the effort and she did a total 180.

Think that's why she comes over as so disengaged with Adachi, but still has the internal struggle about how to approach Adachi without making their relationship anything more than superficial. Of course she's failing at that, but at a much slower rate than Adachi the Super Gay. More or less, I don't think it's so much that she's apathetic as much as she's trying way too hard to keep Adachi at arm's length--and is failing super hard under the weight of just how adorably dorky and straightforward Adachi is about wanting to be closer.

Speaking about laziness. I've been meaning to point out how many times Shima mentioned something about "pain" and very early on something about finding out friendships not turning out to be as deep as you though but I can't remember in detail and yeah. I always wondered if there was going to be more detail on those points. but. I literally need to be asleep as of an hour ago.

But did you see the one where the girl knew by the time the confessed that her feelings wouldn't be returned so she constantly turned on outdoor showers on so her love interest couldn't see her actual tears?

I was like. This is so ridiculous but at "that age" it comes off as pretty believable

Remember kids, always make sure you have consent before holding hands, don't rush, and make sure she's ready for it, otherwise it may hurt.

I knew these jokes were coming. Comment section did not let me down.

nice. i had to re-read this chapter.
Possibly not the best flow. Even for our lovely, partially messed up Maekawa. That almost felt a bit too much of a swing from emotion to emotion. Think I missed the obvious indicators that time passed between these seeming extremes cause I rushed my first reading of this chapter.

But an executive decision had to be made! Cast off those cluttered, clinging things like emotions. Manga done. Obviously that . . .solved all her . . .problems. Well! Good thing she is probably stuck with Shimizu for the company trip then!

Ah. the restraining order bit was good. what else can you do when Shimizu is apparently so damn lovable you lose your ability to art?!! Please understand. ^0^

I didn't expect to like Mash. She looked like yet another emotionless doll type ( not that those can't still be done well)and what ever they are calling characters that spout sempai at you.(if there is a term for that) Plus her face always looked like they missed whatever proportions they were going for.

But she's actually quite cool and a chronic try hard. She has some surprising displays of attitude. Like when she told the doctor to go choke on a sesame seed.

I like someone's description of her as an innocent cupcake.

On a side note, while i like the art I don't get the appeal of the kiss then blush thing. Especially with older characters.

This is closest to my reaction.

Also, I think people are being harsh on a teen, Fujishiro, sorting out her feelings.

One of the things I appreciate in this manga is that the characters aren't completely blind. And they are also complex.

Sure, I'd say she's being dramatic about the "compatibility issue", but that's not at all atypical for girls at her stage of life.

My main grievance in this chapter was the inconsistent style. The early pages had all the hair detail I love, but in the middle-end the drawing was... clunkier? blockier? plainer?? Not sure what adjectives, but that jarred me a bit.

On the other hand, Fujishiro's introspection boosted my optimismthat we are going to have explicit gayness is coming sooner rather than later (but it still feels so far).

Still really enjoying this. (◕‿◕✿)

I don't think we are getting out of this one. The love triangle I mean. And cue some one always saying "its the only way" the story can move forward. Don't know why people find the "I didn't know I wanted that sandwich until someone else wanted it" logic so interesting.

It does look like Fujishioro isn't buying what izumi is selling which is nice. She didn't have all the answers but doesn't seem like she will take overly long to get them for the sake of dragging the story out.

There is actually a species of lizards that are female only, the Whiptail.

I think about those everytime I see the lizard tag on a yuri story. No idea if the two are actually related. ^^;
