Still not entirely sure where this series is trying to go. Which is rare for me.
Wow, I must be pretty genre blind because that twist came out as a genuine twist for me.
And then it became a double twist when it untwisted itself. That was amusing. That's a major issue with the argument of 'cliche'. It doesn't take much analyzing to see that every story has been told in every which way possible. So inevitably a story may speak wonders of new beauty to one yet seem trite and overdone to another. It all depends on execution, and how our predetermined bias comes to fruition in the middle of a story.
It's also a great word when you want to sound smart and critical, but without the requirement of saying anything substantial.
While he/she used the most pretentious word possible to explain it (I really do hate the word cliche because of how fucking overused it is), he/she is actually technically right. There are multiple literary theories that state that every story has already been told and every new story is just a retelling of already told stories. One of them is called the monomyth, or "The hero's journey," and it's explained in detail by Joseph Campbell in his book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces." In the book, to help prove his point, Campbell uses Luke Skywalker in Star Wars as an example, but it can really be applied to a lot of things. It basically says that every myth follows a set pattern or design and can arguably be broken down to the same basic steps. It's actually really interesting and I recommend giving the book a read or at the very least reading the Wikipedia entry (which tbh does JUST a good of a job explaining it as the book in less words lol).
If this was the first chapter of a series I'd say it has potential, but as a one-shot it didn't accomplish much
I absolutely agree.
What an overwhelmingly unsatisfying one shot. I could barely tell whether the love interest was the glasses girl or the student council member and even then there was literally no resolution in the end (not that I'm particularly surprised about that), besides with the student council girl being a ghost but not really a ghost. My point is that LITERALLY nothing happened/changed throughout this entire thing. Like if you were to take this story out of their lives then there would be no difference in it.
So they both love each other but think the other girl isn't serious about it. Hitsuji seems to break it off because she thinks Ayu is forcing herself to be intimate with her.
Hitsuji p.33: Oh, so you're forcing yourself to kiss me because I want to be intimate with you? Don't do that.
Hitsuji p.34 I've come to love you, but if you can't reciprocate let's quit this okay? despairHopefully sensei notices what's going on, sits them down and makes them understand they both love each other so just fucking kiss already. But alas this is angst.
You can fucking see the blond girl kissing the teacher in the color pages before the actual story starts. GFDI. That pisses me off.
Alright somebody plz. Spoil the ending right now plz. Tell me how this story ends. I beg of you. I ABSOLUTELY cannot continue this unless I know EXACTLY what happens in the end so somebody plz, spoil it for me. Seriously, I beg of you.
You know the story was so nonchalant and normal at the beginning that I was about to come into this discussion planning on talking about how "I usually don't read doujins and can't stand them but this one really felt canon almost." But then that sex scene and the rest of it just got so random and stupid and it all just felt like the author got really lazy and stopped trying. I know there was a way to make that scene seem logical but it just wasn't even remotely close to that. I understand that the second half was probably meant to seem kinda silly but it really just reaffirmed my negative feelings about doujins lol.
XD I read ch 22 theres still no romance between them.
What??! Chp 22 and still NO romance??
Damn, things are slower than I thought it would!
Can you tell me if there's any signs of het that we should be concerned about?
It's my main problem with this series. For a yuri manga, the author sure introduces a lot of male characters.
Well, to be fair, that's actually kind of arguable. There's no direct face to face romance, but there's been more than a couple one sided type bits, like one of them watching the other sleep or another saying something to a friend, in the form of praise, about the other that just seemed like a bit much or how frequently the two are thinking about each other. I'm not sure if the spoiler bar things were necessary since I was purposely INCREDIBLY vague but I did it anyway lol.
But nonetheless I'm still incredibly concerned. If we don't see something solidly confirming the romance, this series might just be too big a risk for me until it ends and I can find out what happens.
Oh God. They introduced TWO GUYS with names AND faces. I'm officially terrified that this is going to have a het ending. I ought to abandon ship now. The fact that I've never even read a korean series with a lesbian in it doesn't help my fears and concerns AT ALL.
Stay aboard!
I'm optimistic that this will have a yuri end. If not, it will have sweet yuri moments throughout the story at least.
Why worry about the unknown ending if it can make you a little bit happy now?
Because if aforementioned unknown ending winds up being terrible and being something I absolutely would hate, then I'm getting out of it now. I'm the kind of person who's opinion of a series can be affected by the ending of it. The series could be the greatest fucking thing I have ever seen in my entire life, but if the ending is absolute garbage then that series was a waste of my time, a shit series, and I will NEVER recommend it to anybody else ever, ever, ever, ever. In fact, I will often go out of my way to make sure that a person who's thinking about watching it WON'T. And that doesn't just go for yuri, but for any series in general.

The author wouldn't intentionally market their manhwa as being yuri, and then totally troll us with a het ending. The het threat is there for the drama, trust me lol (I've read up to chapter 18). And there's a first for everything right? This could be the first of many Korean yuri manhwa.
People should stop getting their panties in a twist simply because there are actually guy characters (i.e. gasp how dare they put filthy MEN in a yuri manhwa >:OOOOO & where are my lesbian action scenes?!?!111) and just enjoy the story :)
....I used to think like that too...But then I actually started reading more yuri manga (some of which being released LITERALLY straight out of yuri magazines) and realized A LOT OF THEM HAVE HET ENDINGS! Or just really, really bad endings, in general. And I'm the kind of person who's entire opinion of a series can be changed by the ending alone, which is why I love spoilers. If a series has a shit ending, I'm abandoning ship IMMEDIATELY. Why would I willingly walk straight into disappointment? Still can't forgive Gurren Lagann for pulling that shit out of nowhere. Or Dexter...Or How I Met Your Mother....years...YEARS...WASTED.

Considering how this one ended, this is one of the few yuri series that would've actually been BETTER had they actually had sex lol. I really am curious who's the dirtier one now lol. This was a really fantastic one though. I enjoyed every single panel.

Yay. i make a request to Uploaded this manga after know if have very good ending
http://kitsukyouno.livejournal.com/35848.html
here I leave some spoiler to the end if you want to knowSo Hikari ends up with the Miyuki, cool. Nice that they introduced her so early.
Do we know how many chapters are in this series.
You know what. After A WHOLE LOT of contemplating about it. I can accept this ending. I was kinda upset at first because I don't like how sudden it was but actually, I kind of love it now. And now that I think about it it wasn't even all that sudden. All of these girls are just fantastic, with not even a thing to dislike about them yet. It's obviously all mutual and caring relationships (to the point where one of those raw pages even says "We feel bliss everyday now"). Yeah, I love this ending. If it winds up being a troll, I'm hunting down the person that posted it and tearing off the head. But yeah I can accept this ending. Especially Hikari. I love this girl for reasons I don't even know yet. And she just has this chemistry with the characters that I can't get enough of.
Also, frankly, after ALL THE SHIT WE GO THROUGH on a weekly basis as yuri lovers (with allllllllll those shitty, shitty endings we have to sift through to get those few good ones). Getting a super nice and clean, happy yuri ending on a series that I, truthfully, did not think would ACTUALLY even be yuri, like this is LITERALLY all I've ever asked for in a yuri series. Also, as for how many chapters there are. Every volume (or at least 1-4 since 5 can not be found ANYWHERE!) has about 4 chapters each. So I imagine there's approximately 20 chapters, since there are 5 volumes. Speaking of which, if somebody has the raw for volume 5 plz post that shit. I need to quell the raging storm that is my mind and it's paranoid tendencies.
What kinda bothers me is that the incest thing keeps getting pushed and knowing it wont go that way it annoys me... Kinda want that to stop already and show us more of the actual ending couples already.
Series itself is a fun change to what super hero mangas usually are.
You know the thing about sister complex's is that they don't HAVE to be romantic. Sister/brother complex really just implies idolization or obsession over the person and it doesn't necessarily have a sexual or romantic connotation applied to it. Sadly, however, since it USUALLY is romantic/sexual attraction the terms now come attached with the implication that they want to marry them or something, but that's just not always the case. I can't think of a perfect example, but the first one that comes to mind is Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Souzen (which is a great series, so far at least, since there's only two chapters) which involves an MC that has a pretty clear sister complex, but at the same time he shows attraction to another girl or two in the series. Also if you've seen/read enough series I'm sure you've stumbled upon one or two series where there was a character with a sister or brother complex but also had their own crush or love interest on the side. There's also the case where the sibling with the complex winds up accepting a love interest for the other sibling. They wouldn't do that if they intended to get with them themselves.
In summary, when you see characters with sister/brother complexs, unless these two are ACTUALLY STRAIGHT UP MAKING OUT OR WORSE, then don't just assume its the incest route (frankly, it rarely ever is). So far all these two siblings have done is cuddle a bit, share a bed (with no shenanigans involved), and call the younger sibling the cutest thing to ever exist in the universe.

So they were just doing a pornographic live feed? Is that what that last page was suppose to imply? It doesn't feel sincere at all if that's what it was and kinda ruins the squee factor lol.

Lesbears OP (watch it while it lasts!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64AbgBKTUGQ
What the hell did I just watch?
Also reports says that around the 17 minute mark, the show becomes a MASSIVE acid trip.
Why am I crying? Why is this so cute...aaaahh
"J'ai besoin de toi" at the end, do you hear it too?
Died from overload cuteness already
I didn't heard that, I wouldn't have noticed by myself but it's clearly what she says. It may be the first french line that doesn't feel weird in an anime/opening x)
I wouldn't mind having the french link x)
TBH I don't know if you've ever seen Nodame Cantabile (a great straight romance series btw) but one it's openings in one of the series is called "Tokyo et Paris" and let me just say, almost the entire opening through it is pretty difficult to tell what language they're singing in. I downloaded the actual song and I still struggle sometimes lol.
Have just checked on youtube.
If I can allow myself to answer : it's in French sang by a french girl with a parisian accent.
:)Ps: If somebody finds out that the girl is Japanese, then I would be really impressed: to speak French so well with no foreign accent is incredible.
Yeah once you learn japanese and french (in my case, i learned japanese and am currently learning french) it becomes a little easier lol. Although I would've sworn the singer was japanese. She doesn't sound like your typical french woman. But i remember when I didn't know either language I found myself at some parts like "WTF IS THIS LANGUAGE" lol.

I have nothing to say in defense of this anime, I am now going to watch the episodes in "just because" mode...
Recycling animation never works btw
I'm one of those people sitting next to you also in "just because" mode, because I all but HATE this series already, but it goes against all my principles to not finish a yuri series. Unless I know the ending is going to be terrible and since Morishima is involved here I can at least take solace in that I don't think a bad ending will be the case.
And before some asswipe tells me "you don't like it, just cause you don't understand it." I GET IT. I swear I do. Trust me. I really do, cause, frankly, a lot of the symbolism isn't even that hard to grasp (especially since some of it is REALLY cliche like the flowers, for example). It's just really not good. It just isn't.

Already knew this was gonna happen but... Was gonna give it a shot but all that bear-suit-magical-girl bullshit always repulses me making me cringe in pain.
flips out of all the things THAT was your main problem? so much was wrong with this first episode i dont even know where to start.
I only saw the OP...
xDugh Ikuhara why.
I think i realized why i hated this so much........besides the total randomness and lack of a coherent plot or established characters.its because its fucking monogatari.
no really, the fanservice passed off as symbolism, the impossible geometry, and i SWEAR there was a head tilt in there somewhere.
this is a fucking monogatari spinoff!(i know it isn't but that's what it feels like)
For me what I hate isn't monogatari, but rather SHAFT itself since most of what you just describe is SHAFT. Not monogatari. I read one of the light novels (kizumonogatari) and the only thing that was really there that SHAFT doesn't force in is SOME of the symbolism. Not all of it.
BTW I really, really FUCKING HATE SHAFT WITH THE ENTIRETY OF MY BEING.
WAO! I just saw the first episode of the anime. THEY COMPLETELY SLAUGHTERED THE MANGAS STORY. NOTHING EVEN RESEMBLING IT REMAINS. So if you go to see the anime, don't go cuz you liked the manga, that's for sure. I fucking hate it when they promise to animate something and then completely and utterly ignore the thing they based it off of! WTF is up with that!?!?!
We already knew that the anime and the manga were different things entirely.
Yeah the trailer kind of made that a bit obvious but...I just wanted to have hope...that they wouldn't be stupid and do that...sadly, it was a false hope...
This anime gets worse and worse with every episode. This is why there's so few yuri animes out there. Cuz they keep animating crap.
So nobody's gonna mention how this actually implies that the goldfish girl is probably gonna die young?
If I'm not mistaken "Abandoned" usually means that there's been no update from the translator for so long that it's considered 'Abandoned' rather than when the translator actually announces that they've officially 'Dropped' it for whatever reasons they have.
I remember hearing somewhere that the group that was scanlating it broke up or something and with them, so did die our likelihood of reading a number of decent series, many of them being yuri.

It bugs me that in Love and Piece she's going to wind up SLEEPING with the guy she doesn't care about. It really fucking bothers me. Like I'm sure there are other ways to demonstrate whatever she's trying to demonstrate there.
Why the fuck is there not a comedy tag on this series? I understand that often the "WTF am i reading?" tag often implies comedy but frankly it doesn't always and frankly part 2 THIS SERIES IS FUNNY ENOUGH THAT IT DESERVES ITS OWN COMEDY TAG!
