I dunno how much you know Touhou, but Rumia, the blonde haired girl in the solar eclipse comic, can surround herself in a ball of darkness, which looks like a black circle. So she fakes a eclipse in such a way that Cirno can see it without the desk pad.

I don't get the meow one though.
