I can't help but wonder if Gold Ship has human ears under that thing she wears on her head. lol
She's the only horse girl whose hair doesn't cover where her human ears would be but she has something else covering it.
Either way, I finally started this series some days ago and it's really fun. Gold Ship's shenanigans are great (and how does she still have two working eyes?!), and she has a nice chemistry with McQueen. xD

I assume that is the exact reason why she has it. To cover it up because she has no human ears.

To be fair again, the narrator in the episode said they inherited the names of the RL horses (I think the narrator also said "from another world" or "from another era/somethinglikethat" but I don't quite remember) rather than actually being them in some way, so it wouldn't be incest.
But then there's the Mejiro family in the anime.
