Nozomi knows (she always knows) Nico is around the corner listening so she goads Eli into saying lots of nice things about Nico to embaress her.
Nico is embaressed 'cuz no matter how nice those things are she can't admit she was listening and how is she supposed to respond to all the praise?
Nozomi thanking Eli for giving her so much fuel for her fire while Eli is just being Eli and her immediate response to being thanked is to thank them back, 'cuz shes just so goshdarn polite and precious. Also probably she thinks Nozomi is saying 'thank you for sharing' and Eli is saying 'thank you for listening.'
