I interpreted the Protagonist's sweat beads as a sign of being flustered or embarrassed
by a sudden or uncharacteristic request for intimacy.
Needs more context.

^'request' might be too weak of a word, though, if an indication of
disconsent by the Protagonist wouldn't change the situation.
I'm not familiar enough with this universe to know.
