If you're looking for yuri in Watamote:
1) Read the manga, not the anime. The anime doesn't progress far enough to reach appreciable levels of yuri, however...
2) Said yuri only goes up to subtext and a one-way crush (as of the most recent chapter at time of writing). That said, the subtext has been gettin' real heavy recently, as evidenced by the sudden outpouring of fanart on the subject.
3) if you aren't interested in an Olympic-level marathon of second-hand embarrassment, start with chapter 69. There's still a good amount of cringe past that point, but it's handled differently and there are other elements added to the story to balance it out.
There's an enormous amount of continuity and callbacks to the chapters before that that greatly enhance the reading experience of the succeeding chapters, so fully enjoying the series requires starting from square one. But I understand there are readers that just don't want the cringe.

dont skip out just to get to the less cringy part. its that part that makes the story so much better cause u get to see her grow ...somewhat

It helps if you only read a few chapters at a time. Even as a huge fan of the series - and cringe comedy in general - if I try to binge read the entire series I start contemplating suicide by the third volume.

Nice to know about Watamote. I read it about 3-4 years ago and couldn't stomach more than 10 chapters of absolute cringe. I might try it again sometime based on these comments.
