There is a doujin on the site where Sakuya was born a Lunarian, which is where her time ability and silver hair come from. But she basically rejects the idea as I recall.

Very bizarre pairing, do they ever even meet? Can't really see a reason to think they'd go well together. You'd need a really well done, and long doujin like the Keine x Eirin one to sell me on them!
But that aside, the artwork is great!

I've never played IN with the Sakuya-Remilia team so I don't know the specifics but they should have met there...
I don't really mind if this is crack or there's no base for the pairing, I'm really liking the aesthetics here and that is always a good place to start when ya wanna ship something :D

Because sifting through all the toulouse doujin would take quite a while
Can't remember the doujin, but Usually Dead's fanfic series Touhou Ibunshu actually had Reisen come to Earth with baby Sakuya to save her from the Moon Invasion, only for Remilia to kick her ass and say 'hey, this baby has a kickass fate, yoink'.

As for the basis of the "Sakuya is a Lunarian" theory, Eirin's (who herself is a Lunarian) profile in Imperishable Night mentions that she "is very surprised to see Sakuya, but only Eirin knows the reason why." However, I don't think that was ever expanded upon.
