I submitted an Animal ears tag for this, and it was rejected, and I am deeply confused. Because, I mean, there are animal ears right there on both of the people in the picture.

Vankomycin, My guess would be it is for the same reason you would not put an 'animal ears' tag on a story about rabbits. They are animals - obviously they have animal ears. In this case they are fox girls. They all have fox ears. They are natural to them.

I think the animal ears tag is more for like humans who have animal ears when they normally should not? OR are wearing the put on sort - i.e they are a notable addition.

Or it might be that they need to have the animal ears on top of having regular human ears too? (Also making them seem like an 'added' extra pair.) They are my guesses to why it does not need the tag anyways.

I think, judging from the description in the Animal Ears tag, that it is intended to be used either for original characters who have animal ears (that is to say characters who are not from any known series, and thus their posession of animal ears could not be inferred simply by knowing about them from the series), or for characters who normally don't have animal ears but are being portrayed with them in that specific piece of artwork.

Now, it seems to me that if someone was going to search for the Animal Ears tag, they'd want to look through EVERY case of it, and not just the ones that don't normally have it as part of their characterization, but it seems that the people who made the tag disagree with me.

The series has the tag so why shouldn't the stand alone images?

^Obviously it should if the series does. But you can't expect 100% standardization with your tags on a fan site, with various people working on it, with differing ideas on what a tag means or knowing exactly what precedence has been set. Try again but this time mention the series has the tag :)
