Is it wrong that I find the fact that she's in a wheelchair even more moe? Because, you know, it means there's more opportunities for princess carry moments... I wanna see Kongo carrying her!

You know, ever since I read Katawa Shoujo, I wanted to read Katawa Shoujo... with yuri! You could even have Misha just completely replace Hisao; she'd definitely be more interesting than that blank slate anyway... and she could finally date Shizune wooo! I'd be partial to a legit VN version of the somewhat official fan fic (okay, not really, but it's written by one of the writers, so...) Summer's Clover myself... I certainly wouldn't play the Hisao route, but the Suzu route would be sick... if the ending were better anyway...
Okay, I spent enough time talking about KS in the comments of a KanColle pic... question though, is she actually disabled in the game proper? No offense to any wheelchair-bound people out there, but it seems like it'd be difficult to fight evil monsters or whatever in a wheelchair...

This is literally the first time I've seen Warspite (the blonde) in a wheelchair, so I think it might be artistic license.

@Bugpope:Depictions of her in a wheelchair aren't super common, but you can find a decent amount of art either showing her sitting in the chair or with it in shot on Danbooru.

@Minutoh: This is how she looks in the game itself. As you can see, she is actually sitting when equipped with her gear, which is highly unusual. My guess is that it has to do with the damage she sustained at Jutland, where she was hit over 150 times, and received heavy damage to propulsion and steering, in fact, that damage was never fully repaired, even after her refitting in the 30ties, she still had problems with both steering and propulsion (which in human terms would translate into difficulties with walking).
Also, throughout her career, she received a fair amount of damage, sometimes even to the point she was crippled and had to be towed away (like when she supported the landings in Italy in WWII). Remember, she is the ship with most battle honours in the Royal Navy, it is not without reason her nickname is the Grand Old Lady.
I've seen her in a chair plenty of times, but never in a wheelchair, not even on danboru. Doesn't mean pics like that don't exist, but the rarity makes it feel like fanon.
I always interpreted her sitting down as a way to make her look more regal and aristocratic. British women in pop culture sit down and have tea constantly, that's how you know they're British.
