When considering what Tanya was before her reincarnation, I feel like this could actually happen in the story. Would it be too much to assume this will end up canon? :3

Also, if Being X set this up then they instantly get hundreds of brownie points from me! If this ended up being the true motive for Being X then I'd support them wholeheartedly! :D

Furthermore, Tanya looks awesome in a tux. Sure, they looked cute in that red dress from before, but Tanya looks so much better in sophisticated men's clothing due to their natural charisma.

^ Is it they or she? I mean, I know Tanya was a dude in her previous life, but she’s a girl now. A mentally unstable girl, but a girl nonetheless.

@Nekofanatic I suppose it depends on how Tanya views their own gender and sexuality. Does Tanya see themselves as either mentally male or female? Or are they gender neutral?

From what I understand Tanya's gender identity was barely touched upon in the anime series, assuming it was at all. As such, any designation we use for Tanya should be fine simply because we don't know for sure. I'd prefer to refer to Tanya as "she," but if someone wants to refer to Tanya as "they" or "he" they wouldn't necessarily be wrong.

@Svelandria
By the end of at least book 5 Tanya gives up trying to self-assert (so, she only thought it, never tried to get anyone else to call her a man) that she's a man and accepts that she's a girl because she's biologically female, and Tanya is too logical to ignore biology. (Though she tried to deny this for a while to spite Being X.)
In the end, she's probably still attracted to women, though, and as her #1 objective is a happy, peaceful life, she would go with whoever makes her the happiest (probably Visha), and would lead to her having the most peaceful (and successful) life possible (not necessarily Visha. It depends on NOT!Imperial Germany's stance on homosexuality is).
With their magitech, they can probably vat grow children with any DNA they get so long as there are enough X chromosomes, so two women can have kids that way, though the kid will always be a girl. (We can do this today with IPS cells, but NOT!Germany has magic, so they can probably get to it faster.) If this is true, then there may not be so much of a problem with lesbian mages in NOT!Germany, due to them being able to have kids still. Plus, I can only assume that if two mages have a kid, the kid probably has at least as much potential as the median between the parents, so Tanya and Visha's kid would be pretty damn strong.
Honestly, Tanya "Argent" Von Degurechaff can probably get away with just about anything if she survives the war. Though the Empire does lose the war. (This is shown in the Manga pretty early on, it's not huge spoilers. Like, in Chapter 11 I think.)
She would be tried as a war criminal by whoever won, though, that's for damn sure. Thing is, though, the flashforwards that they do make it out that no-one knows who Tanya is, so she could have just escaped to NOT!Argentina with Visha or something.

@Tyrswed Sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware that Tanya had thought that way initially, although maybe it was touched upon in the anime and I just missed that information.

@Svelandria
It's fine.
The anime never got to the point in the story that she accepted being a girl, and they never animate the cut forwards.

From what I remember in anime he actually never give any thoughts to his gender. He is extremely rationalist so instead of wondering about his gender identity he simply accepted the body he has right now and went on with his live trying to deny being X. In fact there was no single scene where he used the fact he is female to his advantage, so I truly think (at least in anime) he really don't give a damn about it. At best he abused the fact he is still a child to his advantage, but not that he has specifically female body.

@Nevri That's because almost all of Tanya's inner monologues were removed.

In fact there was no single scene where he used the fact he is female to his advantage

False. She used the fact that she was a little girl to fuck with some guy with a daughter while in military college to get him out of the way. That would not have worked if she was a boy at the time.

I meant more using his femininity specifically. I watched it some time ago, but I don't remember any scene where he acted any differently just because he was a girl. Only times were when he was forced to pretend to act like girl his age, but other than that he presented himself just the same way as if he did before his dead (admittedly more desperate and on edge of insanity compare to his previous life, thanks to his new circumstances)

If it is the scene I think about, it was more just guy happened to have daughter his age so it was easier to convince him to leave. I took it as him more taking advantage of being a kid than specifically a girl, since if he was older there, it wouldn't work as well. And him being a girl was more relatable, but I think there was chance it could work with him being as a boy too.
