Normally it's considered rude to grab someone's drink without asking first, but in this case something tells me that Hanamaru doesn't mind too much.

Is indirect kiss a cultural thing? Cause I never even heard about it until getting involved with anime.

^Yup - I think it's mostly a Japanese thing. I think I remember at that age in school there was some awareness / embarrassment / reluctance to drink from a can after a guy etc, but it was not thought of as an indirect kiss - I never heard that phrase until manga/anime either.

It's an Asian thing, but pretty much only Japan takes it seriously.

Indirect kissing was common talk in Sweden when I was in school, its' not just an Asian/Japanese thing.

The opposite is American raves with 5 people drinking from one can of soda. I used to speculate on SDTDs (soft-drink transmitted ...)

The closest I ever got to worrying about indirect kisses in high school was a girl I was in a very small class with who would bum sips of soda off me but would insist I slurp up any soda left in the rim first.
