Didn't even recognize them, they look so mature and different. Wish there was a image of them ice-skating then that would legitly be Yuri On Ice

They don't look like girls, it looks like they are just crossdressing, I like the Morishima Akiko version better.

i don't agree with the comment above mine. The poses aren't the most interesting to me though but I'm picky as hell.

Maybe they're confused by the slightly more realistic, slightly less BESM artwork?

Yeah, I guess the lack of "boat nose" in profile and having an actual chin can throw someone off.

I see a lot of girls in my every day, and it's not the art style, it's because tha artist didn't made a good gender swap, it looks like the artist just gave them longer hair and make-up and said: "Here, the two of them are girls now"...

These are extremely feminine faces. I don't mean to be rude, but do you realize men and women are the same species and have a lot of features in common?

I agree with Alex Wolf. I still get the yaoi vibe from them somehow, even tho it's supposed to be gender swap. Sorry but .. not sorry.

Sexual dimorphism does exist in humans, though.

I'm aware that men and women have slightly different facial structure, yes. I would say the figures in the above artwork look like fairly realistically proportioned women, not cross-dressing men. I think they look a little masculine to people due to the nose, chin, and jaw, which are more defined here than on most anime-styled women.

I suspect knowing what the originals look like, and knowing they're based on male characters (who honestly didn't have especially masculine features compared to other characters in the same series) plays a role as well.
If I saw either of the girls in the above pic on the street or riding the bus or whatever, I'd consider them pretty femme women tbh. Not all that different from, say, Emma Watson or Emma Stone, really.

It's not about the existece of girls with thick chin or large jaws, it's about the gender swap version, this is not a good gender swap work, when you do a gender swap, you have to think about the face line, the body proportions, the height difference and everything, and the artist didn't made a good job regarding this, look at their body and facial traits, it's nearly the same as the male version, and now look at Cosmic's version, here we have a good gender swap.

tough their base skin is still stable , their look on things end etc. i see a birth of new characteristics and psychology in them , most likely because the feminime part differs from the males even in minds . etc.
