It's parodying the brain-poking thing, yes, but she's not actually doing that — some sources (I think pre-anime) have it that it's the crow feather in Yoshiko's bun that triggers "fallen angel mode". I've seen a couple of artists decide that Hanamaru likes to mess with her and carries around feathers for this purpose.
