I'm not sure why, but the "Best Friend who is kind-of annoyed at MC's relationship" is one of my favorite yuri tropes. Usually, anyways, when it's not played for drama.

^At least for me, I love it because it's a funny way to normalize the depiction of same-sex relationships. It's a way to show that this particular character is cool with it by having them react to it the same way they would react to any annoying couples who are lovey-dovey in front of them.

I mean, she does start out having that kinda shitty "be careful around that girl, I've heard she's gay" attitude in the beginning, but I'll let it slide because we were all shitty in high school, and that "warning" let Yamada know that she actually had a chance with Kase-san.
And once they got together, she's been nothing but supportive and hasn't treated her best friend any different.

While this is pretty shitty, I'm pretty sure she didn't mean it that way, she's just obliviously insensitive. What she meant is "careful, she might not see your relationship the same way you see it". Of course I'm only speculating, but her reaction to them as a couple seem to point to it.
