I still find it amusing that the only two female characters with confirmed boyfriends are shipped together. Especially since they probably only had boyfriends so that anti-gay countries wouldn't ban the show.

At least that whole Neptune thing only lasted for like one episode and was never brought up again. I don't remember it being mentioned after the dance episode at any rate... Also, was it confirmed that Adam and Blake hooked up in the past? I don't know, I always saw him as more of a father figure or something since he seemed much older than her, but his edgy comments during his fight with her make me wonder...

@Minutoh I think it's pretty clear they were together in some fashion. Then Blake got disillusioned with the whole being a crazy aggro militant thing.

Miles confirmed Blake was romantically involved with Adam but he also made it clear it wasn't a genuine romantic relationship but an abusive one so Blake has been involved with him before but it wasn't happy relationship and at least part of the reason she took to Yang so quickly is because Yang is so totally the opposite of his edgy, abusive ass.
Weiss on the other hand was never in a genuine relationship with Neptune, she was just interested in him, so saying she has/had a boyfriend is a tad much.
And why does them being interested with male characters mean they can't be shipped together? You all never heard of bisexuals before?

Rooster Teeth seems to be trying to stay away from any sort of actual romance in the series for the most part. Blake was in an abusive relationship with Adam and now has a flirty relationship with Sun that continues on to the SSSN vs NDGO match of the tournament. During that same match, Weiss apparently still felt possessive of Neptune despite how little attention was given to the relationship after the dance. Boyfriend was probably a bit extreme of a term for either relationship, but I felt like they were implying it quite a bit.
@Commander - Who said they can't be shipped together? I just meant Rooster Teeth probably wanted characters they could point to and say "See! Heterosexual!" if they ever had to.

I really doubt Rooster Teeth would care if some country banned RWBY because of teh gayz, considering they never expected it to achieve anywhere near the popularity it has and are happy with how it has worked out so far, plus Rooster Teeth is generally pretty pro-LGBT (especially by Texas standards) so their reaction to a country banning their show on grounds of homosexual content would probably be something along the lines of "well fuck you too buddy", so I'm not keen on this "See!Heterosexual!" theory.
Especially after the end of Volume 3 teased Bumblebee hard and the fact that with the death of Arkos Bumblebee is now the biggest ship in the fandom, Black Sun (Blake x Sun) at the very least is looking increasingly unlikely.
I'm not saying its going to happen but it seems significantly more likely than it did at the beginning of the series, were as Blake and Sun looks considerably less likely. .

You might be right. In my opinion Black Sun and Neiss always seemed to be forced and arbitrary additions to the story to the point where I can't see much reason for them except to squeeze in implied heterosexuality of to experiment with adding romance.
I would be thrilled to see bumblebee canonized, but Rooster Teeth will probably wait as long as possible to confirm any ships and will tease as many as they can even if they do have a ship of preference. If Avatar: The Last Airbender has taught us anything, it's that shipping wars are incredibly effective at drawing in new fans and keeping the fanbase hyped during the season breaks.

I've always heard people use Eclipse in reference to the Blake x Sun ship and Iceberg for Weiss x Neptune, though I guess it really doesn't matter either way... since they're both terrible ships. I'll take Blake x Glynda over Blake x Sun...
Well, anyway, that ending to Volume 3 was definitely a good one for Bumblebee shippers... kind of, I guess. It at least made it somewhat more canon. I couldn't really see it happening before that whole arm cutting off thing, but it seems more probable now. White Rose still seems kind of iffy though to me... I mean, it's certainly cute and I freaking love it since it's opposites attract and everything, but I don't recall much evidence of it in the show itself (that "Don't touch me" scene was a pretty good one though). On a somewhat related note, I initially hated Arkos since, well, I generally dislike het ships... but, I don't know, all the stuff that happened in Vol 3 with the tragedy and Pyrrha's inevitable death made me like it quite a bit. One of the few het ships I came to like... and then poor Pyrrha bit the dust. Renora's another het ship I like (I blame Boop), and I'm sure they won't kill off Ren, at the very least, so... even if none of my other favored ships become canon, at least I can probably count on this one.

@Random_Bird the only member of team RWBY to have a boyfriend is Blake. Who dated Adam. She's not romantic with Sun (or Yang sadly ;-;) yet. Weiss had a confirmed very fleeting crush on Neptune which, I agree, felt forced as hell and really left a bad taste in my mouth. The whole arc was extremely pointless as there were plenty of other ways to get Jaune and Pyrrha together. They didn't need to force Weiss' one sided attraction to Neptune just to push Jaune into realizing Pyrrha's feelings...which he STILL didn't realize entirely which kinda makes the whole ordeal even more incredibly pointless lmao. But yes, back to the facts. Blake dated Adam and is single with no confirmed romantic attraction. Weiss liked Neptune extremely briefly but has not expressed interest in anyone since. Yang is cute. Ruby is innocent. They're all single and ready to mingle ( with each other hopefully lmao ).
I figured I'd write that out for anyone scrolling through the comments since it is 100% fact directly from the source content RWBY anime. I know that this fandom in particular is kinda overrunning with fake news pretty much where they make a mountain out of a mole hill and spread incorrect knowledge. o.o" Like I see a lot of people stating it fact that Blake is attracted to Sun but it's not there in canon on the show. If RT meant to imply Blake liked Sun they would've made it just as clear as they did when Weiss liked Neptune. But they haven't for good reason, I'm hoping. I'm not quite sure why but it is infuriating how this FNDM seems to hold a chip on its shoulder over the people that ship two females. I mean they will preach until they die from running out of breath that Weiss and Blake and Yang are all 100% straight and it's just UGH its so fucking irritating. At least I know I'm safe here with you guys. :3
But yeah, I feel like as far as canon goes right now, all of Team RWBY's sexualities are pretty ambiguous. Plus theres room for exploring their sexuality which is pretty normal for that age (maybe not Ruby yet.) They're all 100% single though that's nothin but the truth lol. Thank God they didn't push Neptune and Weiss or Neptune and Yang together I would vomit. A fucking brick wall is more compelling to watch than that trainwreck of lack of connection, development, and chemistry lmfao.
