I feel like we missed and are missing something. While adorable, this is merely the middle of the story. And I wouldn't mind seeing more of this artwork. ^_^
Anyway, I'm really glad Kurosuke's artwork is finally on Dynasty-scans since their stuff is just really, REALLY good >.<
Plus, there's never enough Honoka/KotoHonoUmi (imo)
I hope to see more of Kurosuke's works on this site. :>

Yes usually there is some context, most commonly from the anime, a song or the mobile game. If you look at the source comments in this case it seems to be from the manga, although I'm not certain:
